The Ridge Cafe And Studios

I bought a hot chocolate for me and one for my kid cost £4.60! We sit outside for drink but not inside! Normally sit indoor like that price. The hot chocolate drinks are nice but shame my kid do not drink it all.

Stopped here after talking a walk around the woods. 8 of us in total ate, various things from panini’s, jacket potato’s etc and all food was great. Other facilities on site such as toilets were clean and well maintained and parking costs reasonable. Would head back.

A nice café with indoor and outdoor seats, in the parking lot of the popular mountain bike trails in Haldon Forest. However, the service is always very slow and staff seem reluctant to attend to customers. Even when it's quiet, there's always a long wait for any service. Very expensive too. Very often, a large part of the fairly small space occupied by dogs.

Like this place has always been a little bit pricey... But to charge £3.50 for a basic sausage roll served in a brown bag takes the p*%s... Cheesy chips sold cold with unmelted cheese that tasted like sawdust... 2x sausage rolls 2x cheesy chips 1 pasty 3x cakes 2 x bottled drinks 1 coffee Normally I would complain but I’m not standing in the cov-19 germ queue and my kids were starving. £35... Honestly bring a picnic as you don’t want to be robbed whilst up here.

We love this coffee, but today we are disappointed by the lack of attention to the details! It may seem fussy, but when you pay 5 for a creamed tea, you would expect a pot, not just a cup... also a bowl! The salad garrison with baguettes is lovely, but it has no dressing and none on the seasoning shelf. The waiters were courteous and educated as always. It feels that the administration is matching prices with the exorbitant parking lot charged by the forest commission!

First they make you line up, in the freezing cold, beacuase they’ve shut all indoor seating. Because, errr, covid. Then they make you pay by card (cash not welcome) because, errrr, covid. Why do places just use covid as an excuse for **** service? Was told my hot roll and drink would be 30 minutes. So came back after half an hour to be told it had been placed on the servery and was now cold. No apology from the woman who, if she smiled, her face would have cracked. Seriously….take a pack-up

Amazing level of service from one of the ladies at The Ridge Café. I want to thank the member of staff who offered and brought out to the car park, our order to me and my two rescue dogs, one of which, new to us, is very nervous following traumatic times in recent years. It was raining but this lady absolutely wanted to do it, and the dogs were able to meet her one was enthusiastic and the new boy just looked puzzled, probably wondering who was so kind to bring out this meal to us. It was great, gentle, exposure for ‘new boy’ and a highlight for me too. I’m sorry that I don’t have the lady’s name but she was so good, thank you!

This is an expensive cafe with the slowest service, and cake counter is coughed on and touched by all sorts! Given that pretty much most anyone can make a fair meal, the food here is not really the main issue. There are a couple of staff working non-stop with little or no back up to support them. The waiting staff are polite enough, then there are a few staff who do a great job of looking busy but effectively do nothing. When the management read this they'll go pointing fingers, probably at the wrong people!! It's the management that are weak, the staff just need structure and process in other words, organising.Today, the queue was out of the door and no change in support or activity to tack...

Good. . . . . Everything may seem a bit petty, but when you pay the prices here, you would expect to be treated with courtesy and not discussed!I made my request and I appreciate that I was busy and noisy. My food order came incomplete. My order in the box started with fries with cheese, baguette cheese and drinks for me and 3 children. I wasn't too impressed by the cheese baguette. If you like chunks of thick cheese this is your place! Also, the girl who served never mentioned that she had only sown and never thought of checking any allergies! So the guy who made the hot drinks was very kind and polite, and the girl who served the baguette was lovely. The kids started asking where the fries...
