"The pub has lovely new owners who deliver a really nice welcome. It has also had an extensive makeover recently. I just have to write about the food! I ordered a rump steak, cooked blue. When it arrived it had tue wow factor. The steak...was a great size and cooked to perfection. It arrived with home made onion rings in a lovely golden batter. Many onion rings have nothing inside but these had good rings of onion inside. The chips were also home made from potato. Large size with some crunch on the outside but plenty of potato left. The mushrooms were offered as plain, with garlic, or with garlic and Stilton cheese stuffing. I went for the garlic and Stilton. They were delicious! The meal also came with peas. There was an option for sauces as well. The cost of this was £14.95. In honesty, I have paid upwards of £20 in some “quality” restaurants, both locally and in Plymouth and not had such great food, so don’t be put off by the cheap price. My food was excellent. Whilst we were there we saw homemade pizzas delivered to a table and they looked fab also. Looked to me like even the base was homemade fresh. We saw numerous customers served whilst there and all let out a wow when their food arrived. Billy (the owner chef) has such a great smile when the food is delivered and so many compliments come from it. The pub is now full of pleasant customers and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, as are the staff. Billy cooks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so great food is guaranteed those days for sure. Am going back tomorrow to try the Sunday roast. Can’t wait. Thanks for the lovely evening and food!"

We visited for a wedding meal we had a side area all to ourselves and they decorated the area beautifully. Nothing was too much for them. All the food was lovely and cooked fresh. The chocolate cake and chocolate chip brownie was delicious. They went...above and beyond for all 13 of us. Prices were very reasonable. We will be coming back. We also enjoyed some local talent with live music in the evening Thankyou to all the staff we had a great time.

Visited this 17th century inn today, which hasnt lost its old world charm. Had one of Natalie's specials from the menu, all home cooked with good quality ingredients. The scotch eggs were made with free range eggs, honey coated sausage meat surrounded by a tasty...piece of smoked bacon, accompanied by home made chips and garnish, with home made cherry pie and ice cream to follow. Natalie was her usual charming self and was very attentive and welcoming to all her guests. We shall return. View menu

a sunny Saturday morning, which can stop outside at the end of the october and enjoy the view over the valley. faster friendly service in the bar. than the baguettes came, a cheese and pommee and other thunfisch and mayonnaise. they were disappointing. they were long and well filled, but they were naked on the plate with a small bowl of crater without salat garnish, no serviettes, no cutlery, and the baguettes were flexible, not crustifying. it's a jewel of a pub, but they need someone with a sympathy for eating in the kitchen.

I took 13 people to this pub for dinner, 7 adults and 6 children. We were given an area to ourselves and Natalie and Amelia looked after us . The food was good, fresh and well cooked by Natalie and we were ALL of us...impressed. 4 members of the group are dairy and soya intolerant but that wasn't a problem for Natalie. This restaurant cater for every taste. Empty plates all round mostly which was very pleasing as in other places there is always too much food, leading to waste. Natalie knows how much is needed. She is a professional. They gave us a high chair too.

"So let us share our experience, We went in tonight as a family after seeing that it home made food on the drive to sennen and looked online and had a good look at the food available on the menu also looking to see if it was dog friendly and it ticked all the boxes, Upon arrival me and my wife went in 1st to ask if we could have a table for food and if dogs can go inside and staff were a little unsure but they confirmed we could upon asking for a table for 7 but one in a pram he said we don’t have the availability to cater I was looking at a table big enough and eventually said that this table was available whilst being seated we had 2 table one clean and the 2nd just been finished with so needed a clean but he came and cleaned both tables and he squirted the cleaner on a clean table and the over spray bounced off the table and went over our selfs then we were handed a menu freshly printed A4 paper thrown on the table (WET TABLE) so they stuck to the table upon agreeing what we wanted we went to the bar within 2-3 mins of being seated we knew what we wanted and when we asked for the meal it was OUT OF STOCK (Sunday lunch) ok fair so as I was with a family member at the bar I quickly rushed back to the table to ask my daughter of an alternative she wasn’t happy, So I made a meal up of all the extras on the menu so I went back to the bar to find my family member ordered 2 fish and chips then I realised my wife also wanted Sunday lunch so I quickly rushed back to ask her what she wanted and went back to the bar just as my family member left and asked for fish and chips was also sold out also! 99% of the menu was SOLD OUT this should of been discussed upon arrival not as we were ordering I run and operate my own business and this isn’t how I would treat my customers this isn’t how an establishment should be ran! Even when I was standing trying to order a member of staff was standing there arm against the wall doing nothing while customers are standing waiting to be served! So we decided not to eat and my family member went back to the bar to ask for a refund as we couldn’t eat as a family and the staff were iffy about offering a refund but 10 minutes later they did refund my family member as it became a scene for other people as they could see what had happened! This establishment should be call the 1st and late time you come here! We ended up walking to the chip shop down the road for food we are very disappointed in this company and establishment! For anyone who wants to eat please make sure they HAVE STOCK how can this establishment run without stock? Never again tonight they lost over £200 revenue due to this situation!"
