The Romney At Mote House

Had a lovely, unrushed afternoon tea with my friend. Really comfortable chairs and excellent afternoon tea. Will definitely be back with some more friends.

Lovely afternoon tea, cakes not too sickly sweet, scones homemade not out of a packet. Location was beautiful although we had fun trying to find where to park. Would highly recommend.

Great location, although advise ahead of arriving as to where to park as this will save you driving up to the restaurant, and then having to turn around and go all the way back to find visitor spots would be beneficial, very good service and will happily go back.

Nice, friendly helpful staff. Really good menu for Valentine's Day, very comfortable dining room, with comfortable chairs. Only on the bottom there were no places to park outside, so parked by hotel and it was very dark and not very well illuminated back to the car. Recommend this restaurant.

beautiful buildings/environs, personal, where courtesy professional 10/10 only need to register where to park as it ended up in the front door in the residential area, then had to call where to park, was recommended to go back left to a small parking lot that was full, then called and advised to go, the main park that I had done at first place.

A very pleasant place with good, well presented food from a varied and interesting menu, nice wine all served by friendly but thoroughly professional staff. Unfortunately, besides the three of us the restaurant was empty, I am sure if there were more customers the atmosphere would be better. Guest parking was also a bit distant, particularly difficult at night with very limited lighting.

we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon cream tea sitting on the veranda in restaurant the romney. However, due to the lack of descriptions of the way, we had previously difficulty finding the respective valid restaurant parking lot, but 2 paid to get away in the general visitors parking much further, which was refunded by a very helpful employee. to improve the car rides of their restaurant customers, we recommend that you take direct signs. Now that we know where we find them, we will definitely visit again. shirley and tracy

Our first visit to the Romney at Mote house didn’t disappoint. Great service really good food, nice selection of wines and beers and all in a really great setting.Don’t worry about the parking it’s 200 yds away and either in the visitor car park or in the pay car park opposite. You can drive right up to the door to drop off anyone who might not be able to walk the distance. Tip the front door is on the rear side adjacent to the Audley retirement village, not the large front facing the lake .I look forward to returning and would recommend this restaurant

I visited the romney with a colleague and two nice 98 years young ladies. the first time that one of them is beyond a year. the service could not have been better, our beautiful waitress has looked around us so well, even the coffee for one of our guests three times as it was always too strong. we finally settled on a hot chocolate! we liked the offer of smaller portions for those with a somewhat smaller appetit. we were the only people in the restaurant for a lot of time, so it was a little boring but fair to be a nice quiet location fits our guests very well. we would definitely return.
