"The place was rammed on a Tuesday night which meant that service took a while, but it was friendly and accommodating. Once we ordered, food came out pretty quick despite it being busy. The food is average, nothing to rave on about like so many people here. I’d recommend the goats cheese starter for sure. The mains dishes are plentiful but if you’re after elegance, you might want to head somewhere else. Oh, and it’s dirt cheap! "We order Mckeiths sandwiches for work as they deliver and you can’t go wrong. The sandwiches are very filling and packed with ingredients. The only hot food they do is jacket potato and homemade soup which is lovely. Julie one of the owners and her...son Elliot are so lovely and very friendly"

"The service is good not polished (they are learning) but willing, helpful and friendly. The food is better than the average restaurant thoughtful menu with unfamiliar combinations served attractively and tasting good. More adventurous than usual (as you might expect from a catering college) and it brings it off. I thought it risky to offer battered fish (such an everyday dish) until I tasted it the batter was extraordinary and the fish right. What did surprise me was that there were only 3 tables occupied at 7pm on a Thursday I would have thought that it would be booked out especially at the prices charged (low side of average). Oh Well, such is Sunderland, and I shall go back regularly."

"Well I will start with the good points friendly staff and reasonable priced drinks. That’s where it ends we have visited a couple of times to see if our first visit was a one off bad experience. Unfortunately this was not the case people openly vaping in the bar each time we visited with the staff turning a blind eye. On one visit to the gents a couple of young men openly waiting to get into the cubicle and audible snorting and then leaving a couple of seconds later. The place appears to be quite so I can see why the management don’t want to confront these people and possibly lose the trade whoever it’s counter productive as decent people will not want to visit with this sort of thing going on. Green king needs to get a grip as this establishment is supposed to be family friendly I for one wouldn’t take children there. They need to be reported to the local authority as I’m sure they will be breaking the terms of the license."

"We arrived for our 6:30 reservation and waited at the door for 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Our table was not ready and we were finally seated just before 7. Another 15 minutes passed before our drinks order was taken. The food being served to other tables looked delicious, but the service we experienced was very poor. We decided to leave and were thanked on our way out as if we had just finished our meal. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience. We ended up having a pleasant meal at Santinos by the seafront instead."
