"This is my second time to visit the Spanish Butcher. There’s no doubt that the service was extraordinarily good. The staff gave us a detailed description of the menu and advised us on how to order more sensibly. We ordered two starters this time Street Corn with chess, lemon, chilli and sauce, it was so good. Bone marrow the wrong dish as I misunderstood the menu, but it was surprisingly good, a little greasy but really tasty and only 5. We ordered the 500G of galician chateau with peppercorn sauce. The beef was tender and I think 500G was not enough for two people sharing, 600G might be more appropriate. I’ve read some reviews that this restaurant is a bit pricey. However, I personally think that based on the location, the decor, the service and the fact that the main focus of the price is on the beef (if you order beef to share comes with two sauces and two sides), the price is reasonable compared to other restaurants in the same level."

This pub in the heart of Glasgow has just started doing food again. They have a new head chef and his food is great. It's a selection of small plates with an Asian influence. The fries are particularly lovely. View menu

the cocktail highlight of my Scotland trip! I'm not part of dessert/sweet cocktails, but these cocktails were so funny and surprisingly worked! the jammie dodger cocktail was surprisingly wonderful. moreish and tasty I had two. the venue is beautiful and the service was really good. the host has made a wonderful job to take care of us all night as his colleagues did.

My wife booked the Spanish Butcher for my 60th birthday. We were welcomed warmly and given a glass of Cava each because it was my birthday. I ordered squid octopus followed by Abanico Iberico de Bellota. My wife had pork cheeks followed by sea bass. We shared a tomato salad. Everything was delicious and cooked beautifully. Portions are sizeable (we couldn't finish the salad). Service was friendly, courteous and efficient. All in all a wonderful evening.

best real cocktails in glassgow. it’s not cheap, but it’s not really expensive, compared to what most “cocktail” bars serve for somewhat lower prices (liquid sugar). all cocktails have premium ingredients with a lot of alcohol, but the most impressive is the choice. most drinks come in different sizes and shaped glasses, so they feel that they always have a new creation every time. the ambiente is modern, but stylish and well furnished for talks with any cocktail that serves a new theme of the discussion. Cocktail and spirit menus are excellent. Sadly, the red wine choices leave a lot to be desired. Only three if I remember correctly to choose from and all receive terrible Vivino ratings. Wait times for drinks a little slow, majority of staff pleasant but a few had a hint of arrogance. Ordered a rum, requested no ice. Came with ice... These small attentions to detail do matter when you're paying for a premium product at premium prices. All in all, if they sorted out the very minor niggles, it would 5 stars. I'll definitely return and would reccomend it for cocktails. Food menu also looked fantastic, I'll be sure to give that a go at some point.

a bit expensive, so not great for people on a budget, this is more a place if they want to have fun and splash on good food. it is a very spacious place, a bit dark, even at midday, but overall the atmosphere was great, very cooled. the cocktails were very good, we had the flamenco and fiesta de los patios a great mix of aromen and simply strong enough. I had the otopus and splashed as a starter, which was very delicious. the part was also great, so they remember that when they order the starter. the steak was boiled to perfection, and the sawed potato with which it came was absolutely brilliant! our waiter was very attentive and friendly, and service was consistently good. Overall, I would...

"We went here on 3 September. If my review was only about the food, I 'd give five stars, as it was excellent value for money at £25 for five small courses on the 'total trust ' menu. It 's certainly worth that price and more. My only criticism concerning the food was the lack of variety. I know the whole point is to put 'total trust ' in the chef, but three fish courses was a little excessive. This didn 't bother me as I love fish, but my mum, who I was dining with, was a little disappointed. The service had a lot of glitches. We really couldn 't understand the man who was serving us, but that 's nobody 's fault, of course, and we would never be critical just for that, but there were other problems. I got given the wrong wine to start, but it was perfectly pleasant, so I didn 't say anything, thinking that it was just a one off error. We then ordered bread and butter when he came over to the table it never came for 20 minutes, during which time other people had ordered the same thing with other waiters after us and got it. He clearly hadn 't put the order in and we had to chase it up. I was asked if I wanted 'cheese or dessert for my final course ' and I picked cheese he had to come over and tell me that it wasn 't available on the menu and that he made a mistake, which is fine, but it was then made clear that I would have gotten both and that the cheese was just an additional course, which wasn 't made clear originally. I also ordered a double espresso to finish my meal, but when it came it was a single. I mentioned this to another woman passing who rectified the situation. My mum thought she overhead the waiter saying 'he said a single, not a double ', but I can verify this, however I can say that I definitely didn 't say that. The man who made all the mistakes said that the espresso was on the house, but, somewhat predictably at this point, it was added to our bill. We enjoyed the aspect of guessing what ingredients were in each dish and being told by the waiter how much of it we got right or wrong. The waiter said we got everything right on one of the courses but then also said the table next to us got everything right on the same course, despite having two different answers. It seems a shame to come up with an interactive and novel concept only to have one waiter who appeared not bothered enough to actually look at our answers properly. We might go back as the other waiting staff seemed excellent and the food was very good, but we 'll not be in any rush..."
