The Sporting Chance

I recently had a Sunday lunch at this restaurant, and I was disappointed that the food was only lukewarm and tasteless. I would not recommend this restaurant and I do not plan on returning.

Don't judge a book by its cover! The outside of the restaurant may need some improvements, but inside, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The food quality and presentation are excellent!

I went to dinner with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious and perfectly cooked steaks. Although the pub may seem unassuming from the outside, it houses a great chef and a team of lovely, friendly staff. View menu

Came here on the off chance as it was nearby, not expecting much as pub looks a bit run down outside, but so glad we did. Unexpected beautiful fresh food, superbly presented. Staff friendly engaging. Will definitely return!

We found this place online and decided to book based on all the good reviews. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and attentive. The place was clean and well presented, the food was lovely. We will definitely return.

We've now dined at the Sporting Chance twice over the last few weeks. It really is a great little pub. The food certainly is a cut above the usual Castell Howell rubbish that is served in West Wales. I've had the Chicken and Chorizo starter and the Asian Salmon main twice now. It really does stand out from regular pub grub. The service is excellent. Came here by chance in January whilst staying in Pendine. We couldn't find many places to eat and wanted a special night as it was my daughters 6th birthday. It was quiet at that time as it was late and out of season but the kitchen was open. The pub has a great layout, full of unusual items which my daughter loved. My son was particularly stressed (he wanted Mcdonalds), but the owners were really friendly and most importantly patient with us. The food was excellent and the kids loved it.... even converted my son away from mcdonalds for the evening. Will definitely return when we are next in the area.

Wow! Fab food! Onion rings so big and crispy chips! Our 5 grandchildren aged 5-16 voted it their favourite meal of the week and my little grandson woofed down chef's lovely chicken curry. The fish has a lovely batter and I had the creamy garlic chicken, I could have eaten it twice and my son said the same about his taverners chicken, it was so delicious! Puddings lovely too, would recommend their lemon mousse or double chocolate brownie with ice cream. Our waitress Christine was so kind to the grandchildren and chef came out to check our meals were ok. Both lovely ladies who complimented our children and grandchildren on their good behaviour. We all wish we had discovered the Sporting Chance...

We couldn't find anywhere for an evening meal we were staying at Pendine Sands holiday park but the restaurant there wasn't serving food short staffed !!! and theres literally no where else there to go unless you just want to sit drinking all evening, so we googled places nearby and one of the places came up which was the Sporting Chance in Red Roses so I phoned up and asked if they were still serving food at this time which was 7.45pm she said yes we serve until 8.30pm we told her we were 4 adults and a child said we would be 10 minutes and she said see you soon, we were pleasantly surprised when we walked into this pub it was absolutely lovely and very spacious the lady we spoke to on the...
