very long waiting period between cursing and eating was very bad. had to complain. give it a miss, until management can hire experienced kitchen staff

I was here for motherly day meal and I have to say we all had a great time. the food was well cooked and the interior of the restaurant is fantastic. friendly helpful service! View menu

we arrived on time to say only because of kitchen problem, the whole Sunday menu was not available. So, in a very short time my disabled woman and I had to eat alternatives to the finest. since this was an online booking, we think that management has given us at least one excuse from this situation. very poor service. Unfortunately we booked through yourselves, arrived and no table was booked. We believe you have sorted this out, as we would not want to book a table for six and it was not available, fortunately they were able to accommodate for two! Food was good, BUT STILL NOT HOT WHEN ARRIVED AT TABLE. This is our one and only complaint, needs hot plates as well.

Unfortunately the reservation by Opentable wasn’t received but luckily there was one table left given several parties and festive diners!!!!! There seems to be an ongoing communication problem and we were asked to forward on our e-mail reservation to the Swallows from Opentable. Given we had travelled by taxi we almost had a disastrous evening!!!!!!!!! View menu

the booking was in order, except we asked for a quiet table, as we both heard the head of the hearing and it was our jubilee. we sat with two big parties and had so problems to hear each other. also not very romantic. the service was good and very friendly. eating was very nice except we had only the last mouthful of our appetizers put in our mouth and the main thing came! Some of the foods were somewhat cold. the wine was beautiful and we could have a free bottle by choosing to eat from the weekend treatment menu. they just love their mini puppies with a coffee!

Valentine's set dinner menu was excellent with good choice of courses. We were in a quiet part of the restaurant on the mezzanine floor with the only downsides being quite chilly as it was feeling the benefit of the cold air from the front door and it could have had more lighting as some tables were in the dark. The staff were excellent and very attentive so that added to the meals being served promptly made the evening a good choice. We have been to The Swallows Return on a number of occasions so this visit was a success. In the past we have found service to be slow maybe because of choosing from the a la carte menu vs the set menu choices.

I had booked a meal for my elderly Uncle cousin myself, we arrived in plenty of time, finally got a table even though we had booked a table, we were seated and given menus, before we could take half a breath we were asked for our drinks order, so we ordered wines, finally ordered our meals and were told 10 minutes later that 2 meals were not available and should not have been on the menu!! So sadly ended up with Fish Chips! Not my idea of fine cuisine, sadly there nothing else on the menu Uncle I fancied.
