"After supporting the Swan for several years, including the last 2 Christmas days it's very unlikely we will return. We had visitors over and decided to try Sunday lunch. From the moment we walked through the door we were pounced on, by a very eager waitress. She wanted our order approx 20 seconds after picking up the menu. She came back within a minute and wanted the order again. The starters came before my husband had even come back from the bar with drinks and as a result was cold as it seemed to be chaos at the bar. After finishing our food, we had settled the bill and we're just finishing drinks. The lady that appeared to be in charge of the dining room very loudly (not sure if it was for our benefit or not) shouted across the dining room about us getting out or she was have to come and move us herself, I made it clear that I had heard her (so had my guests which was embarrassing) but we were met with attitude. we were not aware that there was a time limit or seatings as this was not explained to us like it was at Christmas (which one would expect on Christmas day) her attitude to us was totally unacceptable and if this is the way that regular customers are treated it's clear why the business has struggled in recent times. Such a shame as we have had many nice family meals here."

Advert for the Swan at Wellington appeared in the local paper. Haven't been there for about 4 years, so thought give it a try. Must admit I was surprised on a Wednesday and Friday you can have a carvery for £5. Lots of different vegetables to choose from, two different types of meat and a steak pie to choose from, or you could have all three . Definitely worth a visit. View menu

We were a party of 12, from the local kidney patients group. It was massively busy when we arrived at 2pm. We all sat down and menus were given, there was great array of starters to suit everyone. The starters were a good size. The main course was roast carvery, beef, pork and turkey with two vegetarian mains. Nine choices of vegetables and two potatoes, with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and sausage, plenty of homemade gravy. The desserts were plentiful, I think about ten choices ! We all ate really well and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. At only £10.95 for 3 courses, it really is fabulous. Even some of the first timers in our group, will be going back again, swill we. The staff were great and...

The Telford Samaritans charity shop volunteers have been coming to this restaurant for their Christmas lunch for a number of years and have always been very pleased with the food. Under new management, the restaurant has exceeded their already high standards. The starters offered a mix of unique and traditional dishes, all presented in a modern way. The prawn cocktails and burrarta salad were particularly impressive. The carvery, featuring beef, turkey, pies, and a variety of vegetables, was as delicious as always. Desserts included homemade trifle and warm puddings, along with store-bought gateaux. The staff were kind, welcoming, and efficient, even with a large group. I am excited to see t... View menu

My wife, family, and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on December 29, 2023. The new owners seem to lack knowledge on how to properly manage a hotel. We have stayed here in the past without any issues, but this trip was disappointing. We were initially told that breakfast was included in the price, but then informed abruptly on the first morning that we would have to pay for it. As a result, we chose not to have breakfast for the rest of our stay. The room was dirty, with blood stains on the door frame and door, and there were remnants of other guests' shower gel and shampoo left in the room, indicating it had not been properly cleaned. It took half an hour for the staff to locate the key...

Last night, a group of over 30 of us visited The Swan for the Sailability Christmas dinner. Our group consisted of sailors with additional care needs, their carers, organizers, and volunteers who provide support during the summer months. The Christmas menu was a bit confusing with a mix of Turkish and traditional food, so many of us opted for the carvery. Unfortunately, the hotel had not replenished their alcohol-free options, so I had to settle for a lime and soda as the designated driver. Despite this, the staff did a fantastic job delivering the food without any issues. My prawn and avocado cocktail starter was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The carvery was well organized, wi...

"we wanted to visit the midlands and family for the first time since Christmas and in the frame of the visit I decided that we would take my mother for a nice Sunday dinner. she lives in telford and I am not familiar with the contrary so that I am on tripadvisor for ideas. I mean, I was looking for restaurants in Telford and sorted by rating; clays of broseley was the best from the list and that was what I booked. it is about a minute drive from my mother place through a beautiful shropshire landscape. we arrived in broseley a little early and found a parking space right in front of the restaurant. we were invited to take place on the terrace while they opened and had some drinks. I had a fantastic homemade limonade with glittering water, my mother had a Rhabarb juice that was so delicious that we were strolling home with us and my wife had a very nice pot tee. we had booked a table that had been placed in the restaurant for us, but we were offered the table on the terrace for lunch, which we liked to accept as the weather was perfect. we all ordered from the midday card, which for two courses and for three courses was a fantastic bargain. I ordered salmon and hake meatcakes with delicate brokolli, spargas and a white wine sauce and my wife and mother both ordered the beef Sirloin roast dinner. I was so impressed with eating. honestly, this restaurant lives up to all reviews. the ingredients were fresh and tasty and not refined as they get some places. to dessert my mother and I both had the rhubarb and custard' and playful plate that rhubarb compott, gelee, vanilla cream and small mygues combined crazy. the perfect end for every afternoon. during the meal were the employees (I'm sorry to say that I didn't get their names) attentive and friendly. our month old sohn, henry, has a stinking cold and has teethed, so was not on his best behavior, but the staff was fantastic with him. They even went so far that they broke out one of their dogs, a beautiful, huge dog called barney, for henry's entertainment. to cover everything, and this is great for parents of small children, they had a full baby change unit, complete with diapers, wipes and unhappy bags! I can honestly say I've never seen this before. all in all, for three nets, two desserts and drinks, the bill came less than unnecessary to say, I intend to visit again when we are close. I really can't wait."
