"Was looking forward to some Asian street food but was sadly disappointed. Everything on the menu appeared to come with chips which I found odd. We ordered a variety of dishes, they all tasted the same, I have had more flavour in a pot noodle in my student days. Add to that the food was Luke warm at best and and the plates were stone cold. Bar service was slow with numerous drinks not available. Total date of money, best to go elsewhere"

Fab food, great staff. A warm welcome. I visit Gloucester for work once a week, love this gem of a pub and the food is incredible.

We enjoy our Sunday roast and this is the best. All the trimmings. All the family was made welcome and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Will be back

The bar staff were extremely attentive and the roast chicken with all the side dishes was absolutely incredible. We are looking forward to returning the next time we are in town. View menu

Excellent Sunday roast at the Tall Ship! Roast lamb accompanied by beautiful pint of Butty Bach. Probably the best Sunday roast in Gloucester at the moment. Excellent service from Dom and Vanessa in the kitchen. Booking advisable

Decided to try out the new chef at The Tall Ships. Went for a Sunday roast, and what a fabulous meal we had. Roast beef with all the trimmings cooked to perfection, fully/crispy roasters and a lovely selection of fresh veggies. So much food we couldn’t even clear our plates. We will definitely be coming back very soon 10/10

Had heard tall ships had been refurbed had a good new Asian menu, pub looked good decor wise , not much of a choice on the menu disappointed with our main meal, the ginger was so over powering I could not taste the garlic or soy, just polite message to the chef maybe try your food before the customer, sorry. would not recommend or visit again View menu

I just had one of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had. The lamb, roast potatoes, and parsnips were delicious, as were the separate dishes of cauliflower cheese and a good selection of vegetables. Everything was served piping hot and packed with flavor. Chef Dom is doing an excellent job in the kitchen, and Vanessa is friendly and attentive as front of house. Make sure to book a table in advance!

My partner and I visited this restaurant recently while in the area and had a wonderful experience. We were greeted by a friendly bartender and enjoyed a great atmosphere. We both ordered seitan burgers from the vegan menu and they were delicious. We highly recommend this place as they cater to a diverse range of customers and made us feel very satisfied. Thank you for the great service, we hope to return soon!

"The Cavern in Gloucester is one of a kind. To a lot of people just passing by it is a very pleasant social cafe with reasonably priced food and non-alcoholic drink. The reality is that The Cavern is so much more than that. This is a place that is non-judgemental and focuses on inclusion for everyone. It has a lot of regular attendees including myself, many of which have mental health issues and/or some form of disability. The staff here (who are absolutely amazing) have a varied and wide understanding of mental health and what makes this place unique is that anyone can attend in the evening to talk to a member of staff about any issues in an informal and discrete way. Whilst staff are available anytime during the day there is a designated support area in the evenings which anyone can make use of. There are also various activities which The Cavern put on including an informal karaoke on a Sunday evening with mixed abilities of singers taking part. You don 't have to be a good singer as you will not be judged, it 's all about taking part. The Cavern has had a couple of bad reviews where it has been pointed out that there has been drug use and anti-social behaviour. Some of which may be true, however please bear in mind that some people who attend The Cavern may have mental health issues and conditions that may not be physically visible. The Cavern does not judge and is open to everyone. If The Cavern wasn 't so inclusive, then where would these people go? On the streets being Antisocial ? Getting involved in criminal activity? The safe space that The Cavern provides encourages people to attend and seek advice and support from a friendly staff team as well as other regular attendees who feel that The Cavern has a real family feel to it. Drug use is strictly prohibited and is challenged immediately. Whilst I accept that The Cavern may not run smoothly 100% of the time, I also know that the staff do everything that they can to support everyone who needs it. They are all very approachable and have the respect of people who feel able to open up to them about their problems and struggles. The Cavern is a safe space for everyone and if it was to ever close then Gloucester would lose a very valuable asset to the city."
