"Took visiting friends here as we've usually had a good experience. We were told there was a 20.minute wait for food but it actually took 45 minutes for our sandwiches to arrive. By that time we'd finished our drinks so ordered more drinks (cold ones, they only had to grab bottles from.the fridge) but they forgot to bring them. It's a great spot but they didn't have enough staff on. If they'd had more staff then they could have fitted two tables into the time it took for us to be served we were only having a (supposedly) quick sandwich lunch but were there for over an hour. They did apologise for the long wait when they finally brought our food, but no apology for forgetting the drinks. Hopefully this us a one off so I will give them another chance"

Nice range of products at a decent price. Friendly staff and good service. We quite busy today, 31/7/24. But still friendly service.

They like tuna here, in a jacket potato, a sandwich or with a toasted sandwich. We got the not remotely friendly service and will avoid in future. View menu

Have enjoyed eating here previously but the new 'wait to be served at your table ' policy didn 't work well, we gave up waiting, driven away by the slow service and the awful piped Muzac outside. Please, turn the music off!

We had a table reserved and happy to relocate our booking. Great service and fabulous food, with delicious chunky fries served with our burgers. They observed sensitivities around gluten and were dog friendly. We will certainly be returning, in fact our 8yr old insisted. View menu

Limited menu, not helped by lack of jacket potatoes. The food was wholesum, and drinks were good. The kids' meals were ideal for our grandchildren. The sun was shining, and the small band playing made for a great atmosphere. After a short walk by the river, we went back for ice creams. Next visit, we just had coffees and a chat with the owners. We will be going back again soon as I forgot to pay. I'm very sorry, B S, but you do know me!

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
