"on Sunday we booked a table for 8 family members to celebrate the 50th birthday of my wife, and only expected them to have a typical pub on Sunday roasts. I must say I was very surprised to get a frying dinner that had such a big taste. the bratbeef was cooked to perfection, the gravur was an absolute dream, although some commented it a little hard on the red wine taste, but for me it was perfect. roasted potatoes were cooked on a place, not to a crisp, but again not raw in the middle, simply beautiful and fluffy inside and cracking on the outside. Vegetable wise, what I had on my teller, like most in the group, was a very small part of cauliflower and brokkoli, I would have expected a slightly larger herbal portion / selection, but overall was the meal size. In summary, it was an excellent experience that was made better by the personal everything that were very helpful, chatty and funny. I would go back, yes, I would choose the bark meat roast dinner again, absolutely yes, it was very tasty and a great price too. thanks for a great lunch on Sunday."

Lovely clean and warm pub restaurant. Good choice of food, tasty and freshly made. Very child friendly, took our 16 month grandson and the staff were excellent with him. Good children's menu.

Lovely pub to walk to, but wasn’t the warmest of pubs to visit. Lots of locals! Food was great, and good portion size, but a little expensive. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 View menu

Four of us went to The Unicorn for Mother’s Day Sunday Roast. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. Great food, all of us had the carvery and all enjoyed it. All staff were friendly and there was a lovely touch at the end, where my friend and I were given a small primrose plant as a Mother’s Day gift.

Sunday carvery food was disappointing. The chicken option was a just about adequate chicken breast and all of the food was Luke warm at best. Gravy very thin and greasy. Dessert menu very basic. Staff weren't overly friendly apart from our waitress. Overall rather disappointing. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 View menu

I've eaten here on multiple occasions as the food is delicious and staff very attentive. Various gluten free options too. The chicken and bacon salad (without the croutons) is delicious. My children also love eating here. It's great for nights out with friends, meals with family as well as brunch. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely pub and beer garden! Staff here are very friendly indeed, but not too much. Looked after my friends and I really well and also dog friendly..... So that was nice! Lamb kebab starter, sausage and mash with onion gravy was sublime and banoffee for dessert. Prices are kind of average these days for this type of pub and food, but well worth it and would love to go back again one day! May bring the doggo for a pint in the garden though before I travel home! I've been back a few times since and still really enjoy it...... Especially with the doggo and a pint! "Visited here with my partner in October First impressions were good ones, I’m a big fan of Mexican food and the menus looked as if they had a lot of choice and resonably priced, the restaurant was full with a decent atmosphere, usually a...good sign. Alarm bells started ringing when we ordered our main, calamari and an assortment of chips and dips. The calamari consisted of large, battered rings, clearly frozen (my guess is Iceland) and a mayonnaise. The chips and dips was a whole bag of cheap super market tortillas slopped on a dinner plate accompanied by shop bought hummus, sour cream and gauc. It’s a dark day when you enter a Mexican restaurant and they don’t even make their on guacamole….. even I make my own guacamole! However, we were hungry and ploughed through….. I’d like to point out at this point, I’m months pregnant and when it’s dinner time, I’ll eat anything. For mains we ordered the ginger and chilli tuna steaks which were served ‘turf and surf’ style. This means on its on griddle with a whole jar of what can only be described as uncle bens sauced shoved on top with peppers and onions. The tuna steak was extremely chewy and had a pungent smell. We couldn’t eat it. Praise the lord the the side of McCain’s oven cooked wedges which came with the dish (another whole dinner plates worth), for it was the safest thing to eat. Naturally after deciding enough was enough we asked to speak with the manager who was reluctant to help in anyway, very defensive over his frozen tuna and all in all, a bit dismissive. He did ask if he could get us anything else to eat, I’d rather raid the frozen aisle at my local Tesco thanks, and did offer us a drink on the house, to which we politely refused and asked for the bill. When we received this, the waitress announces proudly ‘here’s the bill, and we’ve given you a discount’ I pick up the paper with baited breath, what is it? Free drinks? Complimentary appetisers?? Nope! They’ve taken a whopping off our bill, which equates to approximately Bravo mariachi grill, bravo, i doth my cap to you in what I can only describe as the worst meal I’ve eaten out in a very long time."
