Thanks for a wonderful Sunday Lunch everything cooked perfectly and hot when served. The staff are very helpful and polite. Will definitely be back.

Resently,we had a wake for 80 people at the Upper Cocks,Service was excellent,staff very respectful, Food plentiful and delicious, Family and friends commented on how good every was.Many thanks to the landlady and her excelled staff.Would highly recommend.

visited the pub tonight with my partner as recently moved to cwmbran. we eat out regularly and have to say the meal was stunning. steak cooked perfectly. im a chef myself very critical but couldnt fine anything wrong. perfect bar service and meal we will be back View menu

We chose in advance from the Christmas menu and it did not disappoint. I had a haloumi and orange salad followed by turkey dinner. There was plenty of everything, with a dish of fresh vegetables and the most delicious pickled red cabbage. As part of the group package we had a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine. Some of our party had a lovely raspberry meringue dessert. Altogether a lovely meal served by friendly, helpful staff.

Visited here on Sunday, hadn't booked, it was on a whim after walking the reservoir too long. Place was lovely and staff very lovely too and helpful too. No seating left inside but able to eat outside which was cold but it was late and my 2 year old, us and the dog were starving. Staff couldn't have been more helpful even though we'd put them out and on the spot. Food was delicious and lots. If it wasn't for the rain coming in we'd of had pudding at stayed longer. Will definitely be back when we visit again couldn't recommend or rate this place enough. Thank you to the lady that really helped us out she's a star xx

Went here for Sunday lunch with my mum, dad, partner and 4 month old. The staff were so lovely. I don't remember a time i have been into a restaurant/pub and had such good service as we did here. When we went in with a pram a lady came over and asked if we had enough room, we did but to be asked this was so nice as usually we get looked at as if we are a burden and a pain elsewhere but they could not have been more accommodating. Another lady also asked if we wanted a high chair. The service for food and drinks was quick and the food was lovely! I would definitely recommend! Best customer service and lovely food. My family and I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. An hour into our meal, a waitress informed us that they needed the table back, despite us having ordered dessert. She seemed unaware of our order due to poor communication among the staff. The waitress then proceeded to gossip with her colleagues, making faces and saying unkind words about us. The lack of professionalism was shocking. Additionally, we were asked three times in five minutes by different staff members if we were ready to order dessert, highlighting the poor communication within the team. The general demeanor of the staff was unfriendly and disinterested. I would not recommend this restaurant.

During the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme, I really felt for Jackie, her daughter and their team. They were rushing around to the point of exhaustion, but the superb standard of food and service remained. The food has a home cooked feel to it, is always served piping hot and fresh. It tastes amazing and portions are great too. The menu is varied, desserts are phenomenal; personal favourite is the aero cheesecake and the beef Sunday roast is by far the best around.I’ve not Long returned from holiday, and I couldn’t wait for a Sunday lunch and cheesecake from the Cocks.We’ve tried most things from the menu and cannot fault anything. We had booked a table for 5 of us at 3pm, we had a very warm welcome from the time we had arrived and service was so fast, my daughter had ordered sausage and mash although we hadn't been waiting long at all the staff come over to let us know it wouldnt take long, dont know why the felt they needed to reassure us as we had only ordered 10 mins before so wasnt expecting food to arrive straight away although it was nice that they kept us updated (this isnt a moan mind we just didnt think we had been waiting long lol) The food was absolutely stunning and we would definitely come back, the service and staff was amazing so friendly and quick, and the meals are huge portions with loads of veg, my...
