"After hearing such rave reviews for the Weeping Willow, I booked for the venue for my the evning of my wifes graduation. The venue was fully booked when we arrived at 7pm. We ordered a sharing starter platter and one of the side dishes given to us was dirty with egg all over it, the server when we said about didnt really say much. we ordered drinks 2, cokes to go with my wifes and daughters main meals, we chased this up 3 times, and the server just said she cant put her own drinks orders through! My Steak was really dry, or med rare i was exepting something better.. again server was not really intrested. again had to chase drink orders up and then the desserts ,must have been sat on the side for some time as the ice cream was half melted in my bowl, at this stage i'd feel like complaining, as i felt it would have not gone any where, and then to top it all over I have over charged on my card payment by £5.00 very poor experiance."

outstanding, a bit late to get the food but was kept updated by the staff and worth the wait

Food was excellent as always, but we felt we were not well looked after by our waitress throughout I’m afraid.

Wonderful place, with new modern lodges, beautiful gardens, attentive friendly staff and great food. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

The setting was beautiful but unfortunately the service was very slow, we had to wait over an hour for our main course despite it not being particularly busy. We would go again but won't be hurrying back.

We were disappointed with our meal on this occasion. Some examples of this were the foccacia which was just slices of ordinary bread, a lack of flavour in the meat, burnt potatoes, minimal small undercooked pieces of rhubarb in the dessert. The service was good until after the dessert but we struggled to get any service after that. We did not think the quality warranted the prices.

Menu over-promised and food was mediocre. Beetroot starter looked like cubes of vacuum-packed beetroot chopped up and thrown on the plate; with so many heritage beetroot available it would have been nice to see this celebrated given it was the main part of the dish. Dirty chips were fat chips soggy in a watery peppercorn sauce with large ribbons of parmesan cheese which were too big to melt onto the hot potatoes. Doughnut with hazelnut was tasteless. It was a celebratory meal and we were left feeling very short-changed.

An attractive pub with a lovely garden. The staff were very nice and helpful: our waiter was inexperienced but very friendly and apologetic when he forgot a couple of things everyone has to learn so we have no complaints! The food was a bit of a let down. The chicken croquet was way too big and the salad with it too small meaning not enough sauce so we asked for extra mayo. The roast plate had too much on it but was tasty. The burger was dry, but my husband loved the fish chips! We may have chosen badly; but the Packhorse (part of the same group) had a similar problem. Pricing for Sunday lunch is good though and overall, we had a nice time.
