We came to the wheel for a Sunday roast with the family. A splendid Sunday roast, with traditional trimmings and great meat. Selection was excellent, and it was a pity we didn’t stay for pudding!

Went here for the first time yesterday. The staff were very friendly and the food was lovely. I liked the idea that you ordered what you wanted from the carvery and it was brought to your table. Will definitely be going back

Today was the first day of their breakfasts and it was excellent I had the Eggs Benedict and my daughter had a regular breakfast and I must say they were both cooked to perfection and presented really good I would highly recommend it along with their Sunday carvery View menu

I doubt very much whether Sunday lunch can be found anywhere else better than the Wheel. Three meats, numerous vegetables, sensational gravy. The plate arrives loaded and you only know it's on a plate as you work through it and all for £13 Unbelievable tasty meal. Thank you Team The Wheel

I haven't visited Wheel in a while, but I will definitely return. Overall, I had mixed feelings about the waitress who served us - the portions of meat were not very generous and we had to ask for sauces and drinks ourselves. We were also directed to go to the bar to get our drinks. Despite these issues, the food was tasty.

Many years since we have been to this venue as illness intervened. It used to be good but we were not sure if it had changed. No problem though. The food and service were first class. Alll the vegetation etc is cooked fresh for each service nothing is saved and warmed up. The pricing was good as well. Even with 3 large glasses of wine and desert the bill for the two of us was under £50. We would reccommend this place to anyone . Congratulations to the owners. View menu

This restaurant is top-notch in its category. It doesn't try to be a fancy gastropub, but rather serves large portions of simple and tasty Sunday lunch dishes quickly and fresh. The pricing is fair, especially considering that many places now charge £16 for lunch. Reservations are necessary due to its popularity. If I had to nitpick, I would have preferred more crackling with my pork and the beef cooked rare. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

It may seem unfair to review a restaurant that would not let us in, but how can you turn away a desperately hungry 90-year-old man and his family just because he hadn't made a reservation? Despite there being plenty of tables available both inside and out, we were turned away from three other locations for various reasons. The hostess at this restaurant was obnoxious and refused to show any kindness, while the owner sarcastically wished us good luck in finding another place to eat. Instead, I recommend going to the Elm Tree Inn in Elm. The ambience, staff, and food are amazing, and they are open until 3:30.
