"This is one of three pubs in the village of Great Glen, of which two eat (the other is the Pug and Greyhound). The building is old and pleasant atmosphere, with very friendly staff. There is a pub garden for sunny days. The menu is meat heavy, but has a few vegan options (burgers, mushroom cake) and a vegetarian option (Risotto). I had the Harissa spits for beginners who were very nice followed by the mushroom cake. There were a lot of pastries (and I say that as Carb Queen), but the cake filling was delicious and the chips were great. The pub is owned by Greene King, so the right choice is often limited, but at the night we went, they had something Black Sheep on. A fly in the ointment was that my wife, who is allergic to peanuts, basically had to sign something (on an iPad) until day she was ok with the food there. It didn't feel very friendly, or as if they wanted to care for their allergy rather than an inconvenience and they didn't want to sue them. In addition, the meal was delicious and pleasant enough. fab eat in a beautiful beer garden. our food came fast, although unfortunately the one of our friends who were behind us had to wait half an hour. eating was amazing, so next time we are crossed with the fingers for a faster service.

Came here because my usual bike tour Café Stop was closed. It does not mention having anything about soy milk on their website, but fortunately they did so that I had a cup of tea. The vegan chocolate raspberry cake was really nice. The service was fast, friendly and cozy.

beautiful experience with a Sunday lunch in the yews, generous portions, attentive staff and wonderful atmosphere. not my first visit and certainly not the last! they would like to give cath, dale, cherise and cate a special mention that served us and continue to be a merit for the business.

A family friendly pub in a small village which is very vegan friendly. The harissa rice skewers were lovely and enything on the food menu is clearly labelled (including whether it can be veganized). There were several sorbets/sundaes as well as a chocolate torte (which seemed to be the same as served in the Hungary Horse chain) which can be served as a mini pudding as well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and it was an excellent place to visit alongside omnivore family.

We had the vegan burgers with chips and really enjoyed them. The lunch menu is a good value excellent serving at £7 each. The pages have no vegan labelling on the menu for any reason so double check with their allergen folder. We sat in the garden and had a very relaxing hour with our newborn. The pub itself is too large and beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly. Only below is the corridor to the toilets is really dark and the lights in it take a while to come so that I know that some of my family would not feel comfortable with visual problems. No problem if you have a great vision of course!
