"I used to frequent Nutwell Lodge before it became a Toby Carvery, and I must say it has lost all its charm and elegance. Now, it feels like just another mass-produced, lackluster chain restaurant. The atmosphere is cramped, and I eventually gave up waiting for a waiter and decided to order at the bar. They were out of two roast joints, the vegetable selection was half-hearted, and the carving chef (a lady) seemed overwhelmed. However, given the low prices, I suppose it's hard for them to complain. It's truly disappointing that Nutwell Lodge has lost its unique character and is no longer a special place to visit."

Terrible experience this time. They didn't have the reservation (not strictly their fault). Received the smallest amount of meat had to ask for more. As did customers in front and behind.. Usually a very good experience. Hoping for better in future. View menu

We enjoy visiting Nutwell because we always receive a warm welcome there. The staff is very accommodating and understanding when it comes to our disabled son (e.g., with his wheelchair). We go there for breakfast and carveries on a weekly basis, and it suits our needs perfectly.

We love Nutwell because we always receive a warm welcome there, and the staff are incredibly accommodating towards our disabled son (wheelchair access, etc.). We enjoy having breakfast and carvery meals there weekly, which works perfectly for us. It's also great value for money.

I used to visit Nutwell Lodge frequently before Toby took over, but it seems to have lost all its charm and elegance. It now feels like a typical, mass-produced Toby Carvery with no atmosphere. The tables are very cramped, and I eventually gave up waiting for a server and ended up ordering at the bar. There were two joints missing from the menu, and the veggie section was mostly potatoes. The carving chef (a woman) had a rather sour demeanor. However, given the price, I suppose I can't complain too much. It’s just disappointing that Nutwell has lost its original style and is no longer a special place to dine. View menu

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."
