"So I had heard about this restaurant a few times since traveling to Paris and when I booked our Airbnb close to the restaurant it seemed like a no-brainer that we had to go! The location is fantastic and the restaurant really is adorable (albeit if you go in summer there is no AC and it was very warm and I have a hard time eating when I'm hot.. nothing against the restaurant just an observation). I think what caused our first miss-step was getting to see the menu in advance. The night before we had dined at French so I think our expectations were very high for Verjus and seeing the menu first instead of like Frenchie where you get what you get, just made us a little underwhelmed to start. We were also surrounded by nothing but Americans, which is fine, but always a TAD disappointing.. The wait staff was courteous but not overly friendly and overall it was just an ok ambiance for me. The food was good.. not great. Definitely more on the adventurous side of things by dining on more herbs, leaves, natural elements, which is fine, but not a wow moment for me. I hate to think poorly of Verjus but there wasn't anything that really stood out to me in my dining experience. I guess because again we were spoiled the night before with Frenchie, but we also just had a fantastic experience in Alsace and we dine at frequent high end establishments, I just thought the food was just not as exciting!I'd say it's worth a visit, but not a must visit while in Paris. Maybe next time as I just feel like there are better options out there is all!"

I was very excited about our dinner here and I can't say I was disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was imaginative. I can only give it 4 stars because I've had tasting menus that leave me raving for years to come and this just wasn't quite there. Still, enjoyable dinner and glad we went.

Verjus, a restaurant run by two Americans in Paris, started out as a regular “underground” dinner that they hosted in their apartment called Hidden Kitchen. After a ton of press and attention, they eventually opened up this restaurant, which has since become one of Paris’ best - a seasonal tasting menu that takes all the French-run restaurants in town to task.This has become one of our favorite restaurants in this city full of favorite restaurants, simply because the food is consistently excellent.
