"I visited today with my sons 2 and 9, their grandma and great grandma. The staff were sooo brilliant and they have a great menu of homemade and local food. It is extreemly child friendly with colouring and an array of plastic tablewear and childrens...cutlery. They make by far the best latte I have ever had and the ham egg and chips were out of this world. They are friendly and accomodating and the view is fantastic. I could not recommend this place more and it knocks spots off others."

inside can feel a little compact with very little space between chairs. eating is always nice and although some prices seem somewhat higher than other similar caffes, they pay for the location and view.

Been here loads of times and always great and busy. Fantastic views by the docks, all food piping hot and nice engaging staff-open kitchen where you can see every thing happening. Lively atmosphere always busy.

We popped in for a coffee at the View Point Cafe and the owner was outside, really chatty and friendly and helped us with the heater. The coffee was lovely too. Great place for a view of the sea and the promenade as well. View menu

at the weekend to see the ships near. we had also eaten in the sister restaurant the alex in the city. really good ordering system so everything is done before they sit down and then they bring food over. currently cashless, this is not a...issue breakfast was really good and much of it. will definitely be used again.

We have been here twice, the first when visiting the fort and second to go back to the cafe. Wish it was on our doorstep. The food is good, freshly cooked and locally sourced. Recommend the chicken and mushroom pie served with fat crispy chips...and peas. Nothing is over priced, it's just good honest food, served with a smile. View menu

Easy to order, nice colourful interior, lots of options for lunch breakfast. The nicest staff I've ever seen in a cafe before; so friendly and welcoming! The food was really nice and well priced and had something for everyone. The toilets were nice and...clean and were well put. Overall a top cafe to go to and a great view out to the port!

we have not visited landguard since one because and decided to go along the prom, then they drove to the viewing area at the point to lunch in this caffe. that was a cool Thursday and the place was very busy. we ordered a ham...and scabble, two chopped eggs on toast, and 2 white chic chip cookies washed by tea and coffee. what a manifestation! the locally produced brot, eggs and ham were superb. in any case someone who comes back!

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
