"Whilst the food was nice I thought the place was a bit overpriced. The cheapest bottle of wine was £23.95 to near £40 for a Chianti. Liz had chicken breast which she said was very nice, I had a fillet steak which I asked to...be cooked just over medium with no blood. The steak arrived rare. I know I should have sent it back for cooking more but as I’ve never had a rare steak thought I’d try it. I wish I’d sent it back. To finish we has a cheese board. The 3 cheeses were Gorgonzola, Birkdale Cheddar and Brie, all very nice. The ratio of crackers to cheese was way off, there were about 6 crackers and I think at least 12 were needed for the cheese. I asked for a port to go with the cheese board but they didn’t have any port in the restaurant! The staff were very good. All together not the worst meal I’ve had but certainly not the best. It was one of those meals that won’t make you rush back but wouldn’t put you off going again either."

Villagio never disappoints, nice for a quick pizza or a 3 course meal- whatever you want! Really nice breakfast brunch menu too! Gorgeous to sit outside when it’s sunny. Staff always friendly and helpful.

a friend and I had a brilliant lunch in this restaurant on Thursday, I had sea bass with tagliatelle and chilli, and my friend had lasagna with a nasalat, everything was boiled to perfection and was so fresh, we really had a fabulous time. and the staff are beautiful and so helpful. I really recommend this restaurant.

My friend and I we went on Saturday at 5pm, the atmosphere in the restaurant was already brilliant, we both had spicy king prawns, followed by sea bass, accompanied with a lovely bottle of Merlot, we thoroughly enjoyed everything, the staff were so friendly, especially...Harry. Thank you all. I really recommend this restaurant.

Lovely restaurant in birkdale village. Restaurant is cosy and very relaxing. Service was very pleasant but the food was some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Calamari was superb and the lasagne is the best I’ve ever had. Fantastic wine selection and reasonable...prices. The best high end restaurant I’ve eaten in Southport.

this place never disappointed. I created a fast stop for work in the opposite, so no opportunity for a great meal could miss! I didn't have the huh from the special menu something I would normally choose, but it was delicious I would recommend definitiw...it was very friendly and service was very good. I started with a gin cocktail and had a great gavi with my meal. I always return here because it is fabulous eating and comfortable to eat when they are alone or as a couple.

Booked a table for 5-30 on Saturday, for a family Mother’s Day gathering. Table wasn’t ready for 20 mins, we were told to wait at the bar area. There were not enough seats and we were stood in the way of staff coming and going...with drinks etc. Not a great start. When we were seated the service was slow. We had to try and catch the staffs attention when they were walking past a lot of the time. As ever the food was fine. It honestly felt like they had overbooked the restaurant or taken too many walk ins. So as a consequence were not able to provide good service.
