"Update April 2023. Went for an evening drink with a friend. Very quiet and lifeless in both bar and lounge. Previous landlord and chef Andy has moved across the road to the cafe. We left quite quickly. Update January 2020. Just been back yet again for our regular Sunday lunch. Beautiful tender tasty beef and lamb with all the trimmings, Yorkshire pudding, lovely gravy and excellent vegetables at the most reasonable price we've come across. The landlord is also the cook and knows his business. Comfortable saloon bar with a warm fire. Service was quick and friendly, but you order at the bar and get your own knives and forks from the sideboard. Keep it up Andy, you’re doing a great job! 2 years ago 2018.First class 10 oz steak juicy, tender and tasty! A plateful to remember. Lovely hand cut chips and sweet garden peas. All for £13. 50. Great British cooking!"

Great service and competitively priced beers. A great bar to catch up with friends or to come and watch sports. View menu

Had a great time on Christmas Eve. Singer was fantastic. Would be more dancing room if the pool table was taken out.

The success of this restaurant depends on the support of the villagers, who need to rally behind the young man who has taken over. He is a very friendly individual who deserves a chance to succeed.

I absolutely loved this pub for New Year's Eve! There were six of us, and the young bartender took great care of us all night. We had a fantastic time, although we were feeling a bit rough in the morning. We will definitely be visiting again. View menu

I booked a cottage across the street from the pub specifically for that reason. I stopped by in the afternoon to see it, but they had no beer and the kitchen was closed. Instead, I went to the cafe next door where I found out that the cafe owner was a former landlord of the pub. I had a delicious, simply prepared meal there instead.

After a second trip with friends last week I feel I need to say that it was a pleasant experience and we really enjoyed ourselves . But unfortunately this weekend there was a large amount of underage drinking Happening without being queried whilst myself and my wife were there on Saturday . All in all a good pint and it seems the toilets are being refurbed .

"We choose this spot because of the many positive reviews. I guess we turned up on a bad day!I have only been introduced to coffee a few years ago despite being in my mid 50’s and really don’t like coffee unless a well made flat white. I travel the world frequently for work and always ask the same question, can you make a flat white? The reason being unless the person is a passionate barista I rarely get a coffee I enjoy. This question clearly upset the lady serving us who ‘rolled her eyes out loud’ by the question and then represented the request to her colleague in a manner that was more like ‘we have a pain in the arse’ than ‘can we make this gentleman a nice coffee. (Yes we overheard).Everything was fine except the flat white was a milky coffee and not something I enjoyed. Not a problem though. I never said a word but when asked at the counter how things were I thought I would say everything was good except the ‘flat white’. Immediately confronted by both in very hostile way was very surprising as I was only answering a question I thought they were interested in hearing I placed a review on their website and their response is a really good example of their attitude. Instead of focusing on service recovery they wanted to blame me and absolve themselves of any responsibility.I of course mentioned this to a few people in Sleaford and surprise surprise was met with very similar responses, ‘we don’t go there anymore as the staff can be very rude’ Looking forward to seeing how the proprietors decide to respond to this one."
