"We purchased an evening meal with our stay and were given the option of either restaurant, we opted for the less formal option of the Zest Bar The menu choice is limited but still a wide range of options. Service was quick however to be fair it was quiet. Starters we hade were good and portion size was good (pork belly bites halloumi and pesto) main were also very good (zest burger chicken and leek pie) the dessert was perfect (sticky toffee pudding) Overall we had no complaints but if you want more choice I can see why a limited menu maybe disappointing to some. If it had not been included in cost of the stay I would probably grumble at the cost and the review may be 4 star."

The staff at the hotel bar and restaurant were friendly and helpful. However, the menu options for vegetarians were quite limited. If dining there for multiple evenings, it may become repetitive.

Fine starter selection, the Prawn Puri was superb, and not oily. The main course Tandoori mix grill once again was excellent, accompanied with fresh Nan Bread , good drinks menu, nice friendly atmosphere.

I tried the steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes and peas. My dining partner had the haloumi burger with sweet potato fries. The meal was a bit expensive but enjoyable. However, it was not something worth raving about. View menu

I ate in this restaurant because I was staying at the hotel for business so it was just convenient. The service is not very responsive. They have a decent selection including an “award winning pie”. There is a full bar in this restaurant with a good amount of seating.

I had the steak which was expensive but nice. My husband had the burger which was very tasty and the cheesy fries were very delicious and nicely presented. The staff were very pleasant. The cheeseboard however at £9 is grossly overpriced with only 3 small slivers of cheese and 5 crackers.

I had booked a spa day with my friend, and we decided to have lunch at the 'Vest bar' first. The food was nice, but when I asked for vinegar, I was brought a bottle with three small dead flies at the bottom. I thankfully noticed before using it and informed the waiter when he collected our plates. I only received an awkward apology and a laugh. I was not impressed at all, as I would not expect to be served something like that anywhere. It was disgraceful! View menu

The bar is busy with hotel guests being informed to eat here, found the place welcoming and menu with a choice of basic food fish and chips, steaks, burgers or pizza. My choice Fish and chips followed by chocolate brownie and ice cream. Tables have no numbers so don’t know how the staff remember who ordered what but wasn’t any problem to them when I visited, staff were very friendly and charming Enjoyed my meal and a few drinks just people watching and from everyone’s reaction all meals got the thumbs up

Stayed over and didn't want to travel to eat so decided to give the hotel restaurant a try. It was nicely set out with comfy booths and leather chairs/ sofas. Relaxed atmosphere. It was a little tired in places too. My husband ordered a burger and I had steak and ale pie. He said his burger and chips were amazing. Mine was ok for hotel food nothing to rave about. It was expensive for what it was,but you expect that as it's s captive audience. Drinks were also expensive, cheapest bottle of wine was £20! our whole bill came to £40 for a pint, large glass of wine.
