"Coeliac review: Preface to say this was my first time eating here gluten free, but I used to eat here often as one of my favourite restaurants. I was asked about allergies on arrival and stated gluten for myself, the server explained scanning the barcode on the menu for allergen info. I asked whether the foods listed gluten free were cooked separate or cross contaminated and was informed that anything fried was cooked with gluten so “it depends how sensitive you are” (to which I stated I was coeliac so it was a no go) but this was a huge red flag. It’s also important to note this is not mentioned on the allergen menu next to the items. I was informed the pizzas are cooked in the same oven on a separate tray and pasta is also separate so to stick to these options. I opted for pizza. The toppings were lovely but unfortunately the base was very undercooked and doughy/stodgy. The server did not return after initially bringing us our meals, it ended up being a senior staff that came over to clear our plates as we had been waiting a while (it was busy as a Saturday). He asked how the meal was and I gave him my honest feedback about the pizza base, and he kindly omitted this item off the bill. Overall: Do not recommend for gluten free. Red flags on cross contamination as this wasn’t explained when I stated an allergen and I had to enquire more. Pizza express is much nicer for gluten free and there is one locally."

The food was piping hot and very flavorful. Our server, Joe, was polite, friendly, and attentive. We were able to get everything we wanted. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was incredibly busy, but the service was swift and efficient. Our server was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. The food was delicious and we all had a great time celebrating our daughter's birthday. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. View menu

This restaurant has gone down hill. They seem more interested in Deliveroo orders that actual customers. There is a new manager who seems to believe everything his staff tell him rather than the customer. Starter took nearly 25 minutes to arrive (without any cutlery) had to ask twice before these arrived. Another significant delay ensued before my main (Lasagne) arrived burnt. This used to be a regular restaurant for me but no longer.

Food was good however two of the party of 6 waited for quite some time after everyone else for their meal and this was repeated at dessert course! We asked for forks to eat salad and lasagne and waitress bought 1 so had to ask again, asked for salt and pepper and she bought just pepper, wine glass was filthy, husbands spaghetti Bolognese was akin to a childs portion, ladies loo had no tissue, contrary to what it states about team tips in the menu the waiter added the tip on without asking, we didnt feel a £17+ tip was warranted on this occasion, overall a very average experience for £186

My friend and I had a wonderful time at your restaurant last night. We were looked after by Casey who was so attentive, friendly and gave great recommendations. The restaurant was really pretty and we both loved the Spitfire mural which was a lovely nod to local history. The food was delicious, I had the 3 course meal deal and each item was delicious (garlic bread with cheese, pizza meat Sofia, salted caramel brownie. My friend ordered the cheesy garlic bread, salmon salad and black Forrest chocolate fondant and she too really enjoyed her food. Zizzi Southampton is definitely worth a visit, if we get to visit Southampton again in the future we will definitely return to this branch of Zizzi. View menu

The restaurant had great food, but there were some issues with the service. The main course came out very quickly after the starters, which made it seem like it had been cooked while we were still eating our starters. We were served by three different servers, two of them were okay but one was rude and slammed down the bill without asking if we wanted coffees. We had to ask another server to order coffee, but when we asked for decaf, they informed us they didn't have any and only had sweeteners. When we asked for sugar, we were told they didn't have any. We tried to get the attention of the rude server to pay our bill, but she ignored us until we waved to get her attention. Overall, because...

We have eatn here regularly over the lsat three years and been very happy. We went there yesterday – 4 of us for lunch (Jan and I plus son and his girlfriend • We discovered they no longer take Tesco vouchers ' The other two are both vegans • When we were ordering the waitress said Vegan items had to be ordered elsewhere (why??? • When the meals arrived only 3 of them were there • Mine was missing and my wife 's was incomplete • There were profuse apologies and I was assured it would be ready in one minute. My wife 's missing item duly arrived – my entire meal didn’t • Two minutes later I enquired again about mine and was assured it would be ready in three minutes • Mine arrived 15 minutes l...

"This review is based on my experience on the day, and could be different for you, but I doubt it. I kept being told about a Burrito bar in Southampton and that I should try it. Well I attended today, with the friends who told me about this place, and have to say I had, up to this point never had a Burrito in my life. Seen many programs showing them but never had I ever tried one. Followed what my friend did, and I got my burrito the way I wanted it to be. You walk in, you’re asked if you want a small or large (unsure if medium is available burrito. Then your problems start, but in a nice way. So many main options it can be mind boggling until you get your head around it. The staff were fantastic after I chosen my main meat/rice of tomato rice and shredded beef. I then moved on to the extras, sauces, chose a mild sauce many salad options and it was then prepared for eating (folded then wrapped in silver foil then payment. And I was ready to eat at the tables in the front part of the shop. Warning that prices vary dependent on the size and the meat you have as your filling. Mine with shredded beef with the rice and toppings I chose totaled £9.95. No complaints from me as the food was hot, tasty, held together by the silver foil, filling and worth every penny in my opinion. Pricing is no different to any local take away I suppose but the bigger the meat (to many to list hear, but from pulled meat to chunks of steaks you have the more expensive it is but it is filling and good value. If you are not a meat eater you could ask for a vegetarian burrito, made of rice and the vast vegetable additions. Cannot see that being an issue. You can do take away, eat in or delivery. They do other dishes which I did not even get to look at but I would say all pallets are catered for. You could always call in advance or check their website, Mexigo Southampton. I think there are other Mexigo branches around the local area as far as Maidstone if you google Mexigo. Don’t shoot the messenger as this was the first time I had visited this shop/chain and I was unsure as you are reading my review, but I was satisfied with what I chose, and think if you plan your selections well either there or via the website you will not be disappointed."
