"eating was in order what we got, went in before a theater show at 6 came only our starters at 6.55 and when we asked how far along our main were how far we had to leave 7.20, this was at 7.15 I asked to say that they were checking and back to us, it came to 7.20 and they had not returned so that we canceled our main thing. very disappointed by this service and for a starter and a drink it cost us 12 pfund each. service was terrible. they were understated. I called the day before to inform them, we went to the theater and we would have to go around 7.15, talking to a girl called sophie she was really helpful and a note on our booking, but the staff in this night did not see the notiz and were not helpful. will no longer eat there pampered our night"

I would not recommend this venue for a Saturday night for a couple. Much more for family dining.

I had a pleasant dining experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the menu had a great selection. I enjoyed the open kitchen concept, which added to the overall atmosphere.

Went for a pre concert meal. Good value meal which we all enjoyed and which was served in plenty of time for us to get to our concert even though there was several large groups in at the same time.

While the food was tasty, our experience was somewhat marred by the chilly draft coming through the large glass windows. The atmosphere was not very comfortable. Additionally, when seated in the back of the restaurant, we felt neglected by the waitstaff.

I recently ate here as part of a group of 5, the staff were great especially considering 2 of our party were very late! Very friendly and on-the-ball staff; food was lovely (and a decent price). We ate inside overlooking the construction site but there are tables outside the back of the restaurant overlooking the river. Very relaxed atmosphere, would recommend to a friend.

My boss and staff was looking for somewhere to eat after seeing The Lion King in Manchester on 18th Jan 2015 and none of us had been to ZiZi's before so we thought we'd give them a try. Food was great, had a laugh with the staff, made us feel so welcome and even one of us was fussy with what we would like and they made up something especially for him and it was spot on! Thank you guys We'll come again for sure The group from Birmingham with the big brother voiceover haha :

I have frequented Zizzi restaurants in the past and expected this visit to be as excellent as the others. After receiving my confirmation email, I eagerly took my friend for her first Zizzi experience. When we arrived at the scheduled time, we were informed that the restaurant was closed. I was both frustrated and disappointed as had I known earlier, I could have made alternative plans. Instead, we were turned away at the door with no explanation other than the restaurant being closed. I am not sure how this miscommunication occurred, but I hope it does not happen to anyone else.

We booked here as a last resort as we could not get in anywhere else. I am so glad that we did, I have never been to a Zizzi before and once I knew it was a chain I did think it will be OK how wrong was I. The service was great, the waitress was funny and engaging (I have the name Ashleigh in my head). We shared a platter that was beautifully presented and tasted fab. The mains were again beautifully presented and really really good. We did leave room for desert and I have to say we were again not disappointed. Coffees were goos and served in great glasses, that may sound an odd thing to say but the glasses keep cold and the drink hot and no handle. Overall, it was fab and for £72 including...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
