"Man fühlt sich wenig willkommen. Ausser einem schmutzigen Aschenbecher nichts auf dem Tisch.(im Garten). Die Bedienung ist freundlich und das Essen ausgezeichnet gekocht, da kann man nichts sagen, aber für den Preis den man bezahlt zu spärlich. Das Brot auf dem Tisch ist nicht frisch und pro Person mit einem halben Stück genau bemessen.Nachschub gibts nicht, und Butter auch nicht. Zum Kaffee gibts auch keine kleine Aufmerksamkeit. Schlussendlich haben wir viel bezahlt und wurden noch nicht mal verabschiedet. Die mangelnde Gastfreundlichkeit wirft leider einen langen Schatten auf die hervorragende Qualität der Speisen."

Nach einer Stadtbesichtigung sind wir zufällig hier gelandet. Auch ohne Reservierung gab es einen Tisch für 3 Personen. Die Vorspeisen und Hauptgänge waren OK. Nichts besonderes aber auch nicht schlecht.

As the menu has not changed in years, it was easy to note that the quality of the food and the presentation have gone down hill. Very poor choice still and I am not sure that the certain things don't come out of the packet. The restaurant was empty and the ambiance accordingly. Go somewhere else. There are way better restaurants in Basel for less money.

Schade, Schade, das letzte Erlebnis anlässlich des Open Air Cinemas war so gut und der letzte Besuch so enttäuschend. Wir waren über Mittag im schönen, lauschigen Innehof und warteten und warteten zuerst auf die Bestellungsaufnahme und danach auf das Menü. Wir entschieden uns extra für das Tagesmenü, das müsste ja schnell gehen aber leider nein. Das Warten ging weiter und die Krönung war dann noch die Convenience Food Lieferung aus der Küche.

This restaurant has a great location and good appeal from the outside. But the interior is completely lacking in character, the service was at times rude, and the food mediocre at best. I sent a simple cocktail back as it was undrinkable (it was replaced with a better one, but still). Most disappointingly, there were three large groups of diners in the room, leaving only two tables for two free, and the volume from these groups prevented us from being able to converse. It was just too much.

We stopped for lunch after a visit to the Munster. Had a lovely meal. Although it was a nice day we ate indoors because the patio was full of smokers. The Swiss smoke a great deal and the only way to avoid it with meals is to sit indoors if possible. This is not a complaint about the restaurant - merely a statement of fact. My daughter and I had the pasta pesto; the food was very good. The portion was just the right size. The service was very attentive; our order was taken promptly and we didn't wait long for our meal. Reasonable prices. Worth a visit.
