"Yesterday, the Tigress and I had lunch at l'Accroche, in Auxerre. It is an inexpensive restaurant and, therefore, we expected honest, simple, food. However, it is far more than that. It is run by a husband and wife team and they both cook. The Tigress started with an avocado salad, which was delicious and very fresh. I had a rabbit and apricot (yes, it works) terrine, which was delightful. I went on to have a duck leg, which had been confit'd in cider and caramelised in honey. I was very pleasantly surprised. The Tigress had a moussaka, which was much appreciated. For dessert, I had one of the best lemon tarts that I have eaten in a long time. I'm inclined to be very judgemental about lemon tart, which is more often than not far too sweet; this was perfect. The Tigress had a cheese selection that was so copious that she could not eat even a 1/4 of it. The Chef, his wife and the serving staff were an absolute delight. We only paid 18 euros each, not including a rather decent local Burgundy."

"What a fantastic lunch we booked here. The starters with duck and vichyssoise gave a good kick-off, preceded by a brioche with mushrooms and comté. The main courses were a white fish (forgot to ask which fish it was) in osso-buco sauce and the confit de porc. The chef and his wife work hard to serve everything to perfection. Young restaurateurs that we will hear a lot more from."

"two things that start badly, very limited at the legal level: the exterior display or the map indicate that the formulas do not run in weekends and then when the waitress comes to make the day proposals, it starts with two dishes with supplement not indicated anywhere. My husband took a halibut and feasted, for my part tempted by the veal head in their own way, I almost ate nothing so much the fat, and especially the bard that surrounds the veal head (rare minus) was abundant. the gribiche sauce had no short, very disappointed and expensive taste for what we eat. It's not enough to be recommended, you have to keep your reputation. wine not bad but expensive"

"We had tried to get in the owner's other restaurant a little closer to the bridge and our hotel...but it was fully booked; so the waitress directed us here. We were glad she did. It appeared to be the owner who took care of us. Other patrons seemed to be locals; a good sign. The couscous was excellent and copious. The Moroccan 'vin Gris' was just right. Decor was homey and nice. Quite a small place; you might want to call for reservations."

"Walked down to the canal front on Saturday night without a restaurant booking (probably not the best idea). But managed to get a table on a bit of imitation sandy beach at this restaurant. The menu was Burger & chips ONLY - which seemed a bit odd - but we didnt really care as the atmosphere was brilliant. Comfy chairs, sand, cocktail, great music and people promenading up and down the canalside.Really relaxed enjoyable evening."

"Franco-Vietnamese couple from Saigon, district 4, who, during our wanderings in the center of this charming town of Auxerre, came across the aptly named restaurant Le Saïgon on rue du Nil. Looking at the map and seeing my wife's radiant smile, we pushed the door. And there, we were in Vietnam for a good meal. Good welcome from the waitress and especially the owner Mr Trinh with whom we spoke about Vietnam and his restaurant. We ordered an assortment of steamed starters which was perfect. Then we got down to business, with for my wife her daily dish a phở which was perfect, For my part I took a bò lúc lắc with a meat that had nothing to envy of that of my butcher, melting in the mouth. Fresh pineapple for dessert to finish this excellent meal. Then the owner kindly let me taste a Chablis from his cellar which was fabulous. We had a pleasant time, both culinary and nostalgic, in Saigon. We know where to eat when we return to Auxerre. Thank you for your welcome and your kindness."

"I often look for establishments with accessible but creative budget and austere, I found this little treasure. greeted by mme with a nice smile, I was regaled as well as pupils and taste buds. the dish was of a pleasant freshness and all the little taste touches answered and sublimated. melon and watermelon soup was a perfect gustative harmony. for dessert, I already knew the burger for seeing it in photo. Unlike what I had imagined, it is very light as mme had said. to crown everything, the frame is chic and very pleasant. I will surely come back with pleasure to taste the chef's creative and fresh recipes! Thank you for this beautiful and good time!"

"The products are fresh, cooked with art, a plate presentation, the kitchen is visible to customers at the half level. The space is respected between each guest, the terrace, the room... but the success is there so you have to book certain days... The welcome is always warm even to report us full is appreciable and it encourages us to return. It's always a pleasure. It is not a gourmet restaurant but a good bistronomic, in the positive side of the theme, a beautiful setting, an atmosphere, a simple but quality cuisine, preparation and products."

"My big sister, my mom and I took my 98-year-old grandma to eat in the Circle. We had a really wonderful time! The kitchen is absolutely delicious and the word is weak; the owners are of an incredible kindness; the frame is pretty and everything is very clean. The owner asked my grandmother what her favorite song was, she spent it (since three others) and we all danced with her. A moment of shared humanity that we will never forget! Thank you very much for your kindness dear lady, you are a beautiful soul. If you want to eat a delicious couscous and live a great experience, go ahead without waiting!"

"The restaurant is well located. The dishes are around 10 euros. The carbonara was not ok, but the Boscaiola was really good. The staff was not enough for the demand, but the food was quickly delivered. Good pistachio ice cream."

"We chose this restaurant for a dinner with friends. It was very hot so the terrace was appreciable, unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the heaters, a table did not want to benefit from it, depriving everyone of this super refreshment. in terms of dishes and service nothing to say about quality, taste and quantity. Just missing can be a little choice of refreshing entries to my taste. My husband enjoyed the carpaccio of beef. We'll be back."

"We have dinner at this hotel on the evening of our arrival in Auxerre (on Wednesday). the hotel recommended it to us and made the reservation for us. very good reception from the single server. the card is traditional what is not unpleasant. My wife ate a beautiful, wood-fired and perfect antcot. for me an excellent foie gras in the entrance followed by a very beautiful andouillette all served with the famous potato of the house. We've been enjoying ourselves. The only shadow in the table, the server being alone to serve in both rooms and also drinks, you have to be patient because it runs a bit everywhere but it's not easy! I don't know if it's the boss who's at the helm but he's sometimes without doing anything and could give a hand to get rid of or serve! It does not remove anything from the quality of what we ate. I strongly recommend this restaurant."

"Ces un restaurant que j aimais beaucoup mais très grosse déception pour le soir du réveillon du 31 décembre 2023. Aucune décoration, pas de musique, personnel pas aimable, repas expéditif, menu à 48 euro...... Les plats étais froid, toast mou et non croustillant, poisson présenté par la peau du coup plus de sauce dessus vraiment très décevant et rien d offert ni coupe ni café. Si ça les embêtent de servir les clients à une date festive mieux vaut arrêter........ 4/20 très déçu."

"As practically most of the restaurant closed in France on a Monday night, we found this restaurant in front of the water in Auxerre center. We had been greeted quickly, seated & served in the terrace. I think there are 3, 4 servers, full house but they know exactly what they're doing. Although we had a wrong plate delivered, the servers apologized & changed the correct plate later on, being very professional.Food wise, pretty good choices on the card with some local specialities + lots of pizza. We picked a menu at @ €23 with starter main course & dessert, excellent price. Taste was very good but disappointed the braise beef of the main course only being served 3 small pieces. I'd prefer they serve more & charge us more. Another beef filet was very soft with cheese sauce, we enjoyed it a lot. The dessert was fine."

"For several years now, I would no longer eat at Buffalo Grill because of the general mediocrity and the wait too long, I had even sent them an email, which was left unanswered. And then we figured out why not try again, our bad experiences all took place in the Paris region, where they are certainly overwhelmed, since now we live in the province, let's try that to worse! Well, I can say that in five years, nothing has changed: the staff is always as unfriendly, the wait always as long (in fact they put the pressure as soon as we arrive to order, but if we have the misfortune to take our time and think. There you are lost!), the surprise of the children is always forgotten, the welcome salad always as blurred, meats and desserts without great interest (what is that these pieces of meat they put in their chili?)... and to the bitters, the fridges must be broken: all our drinks, I say all of us were served not even fresh beers, the cocktails of the tea! Clearly, this time it's over, we'll never go."
