"We went for a Sunday lunch on the 21st of May with 23 family and friends. The food was outstanding! Everything arrived at the table at the same time and was served hot. We enjoyed a variety of meats, vegetables, and plenty of potatoes, along with generous bowls of cauliflower cheese. To our surprise, they also brought out extra bowls of roast potatoes and gravy, which really made the meal even better. Despite not having room for dessert, those who did said they were just as delicious. The price of £12.50 for such a fantastic roast lunch was unbelievable value for money. Many thanks to Dave and his team, we will definitely be returning soon!"

"decided to stop here last week for a coffee, but we saw the menu and saw everything homemade, so had lunch too. I can only wish the new owner every success. the food was so fresh and tasty freshly cooked (a bonus...these days we will surely return again (next week) for an excellent lunch. Moreover, the staff was so friendly and nothing was too much annoyed."

"I had my 60th birthday party here in April, the landlord and land lady Kerry and Kas catered for approx 80 people, I didn't want the normal buffet type food of sandwiches, sausages rolls etc as most of my guests were coming from further a field, I gave Kerry the chef my Menu of Thai curry, beef lasagne, veg lasagne, veg curry, homemade slaw, salad, chips, he catered for my vegetarian and Gluten free guest. We had sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownies, fruit salad. Everything was kept hot. They also included Tea, coffee and fresh jugs of water on the tables, we had fairly lights and the hall had plenty of table and chairs for guests to sit down and enjoy there meals. they had PA System so we could play some music and have a dance. The children enjoyed running round in the garden, even the young the children could go out and play in the beautiful secure garden. We had two young ladies looking after us, I didn't catch their names, they were super friendly and could not do enough for us, they worked so hard and we really appreciated the hard work they put it to it. I could not have been happier with the day, thank you so much Kerry and Kas, and if you are thinking of organising an event, I highly recommend holding it at the Bell Inn"

"I organised a Christmas party at The Arrow for a largee group of friends. Louise the manager was really helpful and accommodating both leading up to the evening and on the night itself. The food was really, nice from the traditional turkey to the more modern festive burger. Really good value, a great start to the festive season. Well done to the team"

"We went to visit the Haynes Museum one more time after a year and after we finished we decided to eat somewhere nearby. This Inn was recommended to us by a nice lady from the Museum, so we arrived in a few minutes. Since we were hungry, we ordered the daily menu with tomato soup and for the second course we had gammon. Everything was very good, comfortable seats, tasty and cold beer, fast service, hot and tasty food. We will definitely make a stop at the Inn when we are in the area"

"Family of 4 came to palmers recently we would never visit again we had heard that it was not the best but wanted to see for ourselves and indeed it was very bad. firstly we were greeted in the most awful way by one of the female owners my wife asked a member of staff what the lady's name was and was told Lois the owner. she was rude to all family members and her people skills were beyond disgusting. she used some very awful language and her tone of voice was very abrupt. after having a go at us all for no reason she eventually went and we felt slightly more relaxed after she left the dining area. other staff seemed ok and helpful. after travelling a long way we were hungry and decided to eat but another major mistake the food we ordered was very poor quality our child's meat dish smelt very off and we could smell that it was off. some family members had ham and salad dishes but the ham smelt rotten and its appearance way grey and totally out of date produce was served to us. after how the owner greeted us we felt concerned to raise concerns about our meal's how can they serve out of date produce ? surely it's illegal and dangerous to peoples health. the actual garden center was nice to look around but after the first outburst from Lois it ruined the visit for all the family there was no need for this and we wouldn't visit or eat here again totally dreadful."

"Stop at cargate picnic area often overnight in the lorry. The food I had at the cafe tonight was dreadful. Cottage pie and veg. Cheap frozen veg thrown in microwave, and a tiny portion of c pie. Probably just about enough for a ten year old. For a well overpriced 9.95. Just eat delivery from now on."

"We ordered the Buttercross Muffin x2 for both of us. We expected a fresh toasted muffin topped with Somerset cheddar, bacon, and a fried egg, after seeing it at the next table. Unfortunately, our muffins were extremely hard and difficult to eat. The cheese was barely noticeable, the bacon was overcooked, and the fried egg was swimming in grease, leaving a bad taste in our mouths. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she suggested waiting a couple of weeks before they could address the issue. Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially considering the 31-minute wait and lack of other customers in the restaurant."

"We arrived at a restaurant with sticky tables and menus. Before ordering our food, I had to clean the table and condiments stand with antibacterial wipes from my bag. The cleanliness of the restaurant was disgusting, and if I had noticed before ordering, I would have left immediately. The food was nothing special but was served quickly. I mentioned the cleanliness issue to the waiter, who simply thanked us for bringing it to their attention. The staff we encountered were friendly, but the restaurant's hygiene standards were far from five-star. We were only there for lunch to try it out before potentially booking a Christmas party for a large group, but we will not be dining there this holiday season. Overall, a very disappointing experience."

"We received a warm welcome and enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere at this restaurant. Our family room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries, a spacious wardrobe, dressing table, and TV. The bathroom was a bit disappointing as it was not spotless, with some mould/mildew in the shower that could have been easily cleaned with some attention. However, we had a restful night's sleep. The food at the pub was amazing, and the breakfasts were delicious, with freshly cooked hot food, juices, yogurt, cereal, and toast made to order. The hotel has separate entrances to the main pub, making it convenient for late arrivals with a provided key. There was plenty of parking available as well. Overall, it was a good stay and we would definitely return if we were in the area again."

"We had to wait over 2hr 30 minutes before our food arrived. When we called the restaurant after an hour, we got told that they are very busy but the food will be with us in 5-10min. For the next hour and a half, we rang them several times and still kept telling us that it will be with us in 10min. They didn’t even ask for our order details so we knew this wasn’t true. We contacted deliveroo agents to cancel/refund, but they couldn’t do anything as the restaurant kept telling them that the food will be with us in 10min and refused to refund us. If you know you don’t have the capacity to deliver the food, maybe don’t be open on the app? Please avoid if you don’t want to wait over 2 hours for delivery.Very disappointing."

"On arrival the garden and grounds and view were superb. We found a nice table and all was very clean, the waitress friendly and efficient. Sadly it was not a carvery but a plated meal. When it arrived I was sad to see that the plate was overloaded. Gammon slice, (bit fatty 6 roast potatoes (which could have been a little more crisp. cauliflower, carrots, parsnips, brocholli, pop up Yorkshire pudding. stuffing (a bit tasteless, and gravy. A massive meal which would have done me for two days. It looked good value but sadly I could only find room for half the amount. Sticky toffee pudding with custard was superb. and a good coffee to follow. I feel this pub has missed a trick. Most of the people lunching were 70 plus and would have preferred to have a carvery where they could just take as much as the wanted and not been over faced by such a plateful I shall go again but try their a la carte menue, ot specials if they have them"

"The team at coopers mill were fantastic at catering for a large party! The bar staff were friendly one guy in particular unfortunately can’t remember his name but he served both parties we had there and service and friendliness was above and beyond! Jake! What an amazing guy! Nothing was too much trouble! By far the best I’ve come across in along time humour and friendliness jokes and on point with correcting and managing booking, food and payment. Will be back 5 Thank you! Northern family!"

"Have not visited the William Dampier for some time. It was certainly alive with customers. We enjoyed a pleasant lunch with excellent service, especially from the Manager. The cuisine was tasty and well presented. No extra requests were a problem. The variety of seating enables...everyone to feel welcome. I have found the Weatherspoons chain very helpful when travelling in the UK since I've enjoyed their all-day breakfasts so refreshing. Certainly worth a visit. Global Nomad"

"Came to Merriott for day to visit friends. We went to the pub for lunch. It was such a change to go to a pub that actually serves home cooked food. All our meals were good. They came nicely presented and were lovely and hot. Couldn’t fault them. The Staff were all friendly and the pub itself very welcoming. Can’t wait to come back to visit and will definitely return to The Kings Head ."

"we decided to go here and be happy. a very friendly greeting when we entered the caffe and the place was nice and clean and a fresh feeling for the place, the prices were good and the place had seated. the menu looked really good and seemed to accommodate most nutritional needs, but we caught for the cake and was not disappointed (a big piece of cake. "Eaten here for years. Best food for miles. Love it. Presently, due to Covid restrictions, it is not open quite as usual only Wed, Thurs, Fri lunch time. Usually there is a little British food (great too) but circumstances don 't allow too much cooking so it is only Thai presently this does not matter that is what it mainly is. Take my advice, eat here. Please 'phone first tho ' to book as understandably, seating is restricted. You will not be disappointed."

"We enjoyed a warm and cozy atmosphere at the restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. It was a pleasant evening spent with my family. The lamb dish I ordered was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, while my companion raved about the dreamy risotto. The children loved their pizza. The desserts were divine, from the refreshing lemon sorbet to the indulgent chocolate fountains and fresh profiteroles. We left feeling stuffed, content, and eager to return soon. Thank you for a lovely evening!"
