"After a very disappointing visit to Holbrook House Spa we was recommended The BakeHouse by a member, we was welcomed into The BakeHouse by Chris who I believe is the owner! A very well City Colar dressed man who was very polite and excited about his product! I already knew the food was going to be amazing but when I had that first moist but tender bit of Pad Ka Ree Chicken pass my lips it was nothing other than all the world's flavours mastibating in my mouth ! I would recommend this wonderful eatery to anyone who loves both Thai and English food.. and maybe even just a bit of afternoon cake for those with a sweet tooth ;"

Stopped off twice here on the way back from Devon for coffee and lovely cake. Great place to take a break from the busy A303. Set in a pretty little village. The place has a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Always looking at map to see if we are going to go near to The Bakehouse so I can pop in for some more delicious food and good service.

I’ve been to the Bakehouse in Castle Cary 4 or 5 times now and each time we have come away feeling fulfilled, content and blissed out by the superb quality of the food. Simply put, they do their own thing beautifully. The flavours of the mains dishes leave one in delight at every mouthful. Desserts are all homemade. It’s just fantastic we love visiting. Thoroughly recommend! What a little gem!

I confess to being a regular. The green curry is wonderful (as is the pad kharee) and the service is unfailingly quick and friendly. It is the dessert counter that is the problem. Which home-baked delight to choose. An old favourite (hot chocolate brownie with ice cream and cream or something a little newer like the profiterole mountain cake) Choices, choices ... Which why I come back again and again. A real treasure.

They've been eating here for years. best food for miles. love it. Currently, due to covid restrictions, it is not entirely as usual only wed, thurs, Fri lunch time open. in the rule there is a little British food (too much to eat), but the circumstances do not allow too much to cook, so it is just Thai does not play any role at the moment, which is most important. take my advice, eat here. Please 'phone first tho ' to book so understandable, sitting places are restricted. they will not be disappointed.

"Our first visit to The George Inn at Donyatt, we've drove by it time's going to other places and it always looks such a nice place. We decided to have lunchtime meal there to celebrate our anniversary and weren't disappointed, beamed ceilings, log burner and brick fireplace, farm tools and pictures on the walls cosy and oldie worldy with friendly locals just how we like our pubs. The staff and owner were really friendly, polite and chatted to us as if we locals from the village, the waitresses were smartly dressed, polite attentive always smiling, cheerful, charming and chatty. Even the chef nodded and smiled to us the couple of times he walked through and the bar and table areas were spotlessly clean. Our meals starters and mains were absolutely fantastic and amazing as was the presentation, they were hot good amounts of food with tender succulent meats and vegetables and the mashed potatoes were creamy smooth and light and have never had better. There's a good selection of beers and I had local ale which was amazing, clear, cool with a nice head and tasted like nectar. We will definitely be coming back soon and we can definitely recommend this pub, restaurant and hotel to family, friends, neighbours and anyone. A very big well done and thank you to the owners, all the staff especially the chef, please please please keep this pub the way it is, it's an absolute treasure and gem of a place to find. YOU ALL MADE OUR ANNIVERSARY VERY SPECIAL Especially in these times when a majority of local village pubs are closing down and being turned into houses or flats, we must all support our local village pubs like The George Inn."
