"I really liked this multi-roomed Adnams pub situated across the road from the 17th century Moot hall and seafront gardens. If you enter from the sea facing side then you walk through two front areas mainly aligned for dining before reaching the bar and an additional two areas which are more set up just for drinking. A nice Creme and sea blue decor throughout and plenty of period black and white photos of the local area to provide some character. 4 Adnams ales were on with the usual Broadside, Southwold Bitter and Ghostship, but I went for the Regatta golden ale and very good it was. We were only in for drinks on this lunchtime as we intended to graze from the seafood shacks on the stone beach a short walk away, and I like the fact that there was a good mix of people eating and just drinking, even in the front two rooms. This was probably the pick of the pubs I tried in Aldeburgh."

"We visited the restaurant in late September 2023 with a party of four, including a child. One of the main dishes we ordered was the Lobster and Crab Ravioli. When it arrived, I found it to be too small, more like a starter size rather than a main course. Our granddaughter, who is five years old, had the Spaghetti Carbonara in a child portion, which was actually bigger than the ravioli dish. If the dish is intended to be this small, it should be clearly stated on the menu. Priced at £17.95 for what I consider to be not even a starter portion, I feel it is overpriced. We have dined here before without any issues, but we will be avoiding it in the future as we have found Bencotto across the road to be much better."

"We found Delphine's on our way to the beach. It is a fantastic little island of kitsch 1950's Americana is what is otherwise a very lovely, but one note, high street (think Waitrose By The Sea). I had my very very food fussy 12 year old daughter, Paddy, a well behaved Labradoodle and my daughter's sugar loving friend with me. My daughter asked for a special order, (burger with plain bun, and chips, no relish, no salad) which the lovely man cooking and even lovelier waitress made it very clear was not a problem. When we arrived, there was only a two seater in the corner available, and, as there were three of us, I asked if we could move to a bigger table if one became available. That was also not a problem and as soon as a bigger table was free, they prioritised cleaning it up, and we moved. Some of the fresh ingredients needed for the milkshakes on the menu hadn't been delivered that morning, but we had that explained before we ordered. My daughter's friend ordered an Oreo Milkshake which was bigger than she was. She finished it. We all had different burgers and they were all absolutely delicious. When we go back to Aldeburgh, we will be heading there again!"

"We stopped in here on a blustery autumnal Friday following a walk with dogs around the grounds of the adjacent castle. We received a walm welcome and we're seated quickly with menus offered and specials/exceptions explained. Prices are very reasonable and service is swift. We had a hot meal which was exactly what was needed. The only downside soup of the day was clearly cup a soup, whilst warm and tasty, it did leave something to be desired. Otherwise food ordered was excellent. Possibly best to visit during more popular times than an off season Friday lunch."

"My wife and I enjoyed lunch at this wonderful place today. It is a great spot with plenty of parking, a friendly and professional staff, and a classic English pub atmosphere. The food was amazing, with a variety of interesting specials, and they were able to accommodate my wife's dietary needs. Unfortunately, we had a mishap where the pepper dispenser spilled all over my wife's meal. The staff handled the situation exceptionally well, offering a sincere apology and quickly replacing the meal with a brand new dish within 5 minutes. We were very pleased with the level of service, especially in a challenging situation. Overall, we highly recommend The Cherry Tree for a fantastic dining experience."

"We ate here for new years eve Dec 2015, so it was a special set menu, for £60 per person. I was initially a bit apprehensive about the price, however once the food started arriving, the price was totally justified. The food was fantastic, from the canapés to dessert! Flavours, cooking of it, presentation. We were totally full by the end, and couldn't even manage the coffee and biscuits. The only thing I would suggest is where the door to the kitchen opens into the dining area, the light in the kitchen is extremely bright, compared to the low light level ambience, so the door constantly opening slightly ruins the romantic chilled out vibe trying to be a achieved. I would suggest a filter is put on the portal window of the door, so the kitchen light is softened when the door is closed. And also moving the tables directly opposite the door over to one side a bit, so they are not in full view of the light. Apart from this the service was wonderful , and our waitress very attentive and polite. The pub building itself is very lovely from outside and in, and all in all I would recommend a visit."

"We have visited this restaurant multiple times, primarily because of its convenient location and the quality of the meals. However, we often feel rushed during our visits. The staff frequently push for our food order within minutes of being seated, barely giving us time to enjoy our drinks. Even when we politely ask for more time, they return shortly after to take our order, and our food arrives quickly afterwards. Our dining experience can feel rushed and more like fast food, with the staff even asking about dessert early on because the chef wanted to leave early. It's quite absurd how quickly they try to get customers in and out. While it may be suitable for those in a hurry, it seems like they prioritize speed over customer satisfaction. They may need to consider treating their guests better if they want to keep their jobs."

"Having previously visited, I returned to Honey Harvey with my wife with a view to enjoying brunch. After entering, we waited patiently as a customer ordered a takeaway coffee. We then advised the young lady behind the counter that we were after a table for two for brunch. “It’s just a matter of finding a table…” she said curtly. We then wandered through, looking for somewhere to sit. As we did, at least two other staff members ignored us. We stopped, looked around, and as we then made our way back to the entrance, we noticed two customers nursing coffees and working on their laptops. Ea h was on a separate table, taking up a table for four. That notwithstanding, at no point did any staff suggest we might wait for a table to become free—we’d have been happy to wait. Given the absolutely appalling service, I can’t see us ever going back. We then walked the short distance to the Two Magpies. There, we were treated completely differently. We were greeted as we went to the counter, told that we were in time for brunch and shown to a table. Enough said. Time to sweat the small stuff, I’d suggest."

"We were greeted by a waitress who appeared disinterested and unfriendly based on her interaction and body language. I had to turn my body to talk to her during our first encounter. When my husband asked for Aspel Drift Cider, she informed us that they did not have any on tap, but when he went to the bar, he discovered that they did indeed sell it. The waiter who took our food order was wearing shorts, which we found to be unprofessional. Our food took an hour to arrive, and while it may have been freshly prepared, the Thyme Chicken in cream sauce that my daughter and I ordered seemed to have an excess of dried thyme. The roast potatoes were undercooked and pale, lacking a crispy surface, and the plate was mostly covered with a packet of frozen peas. We were disappointed with the overall experience, and although we did not speak up at the time, we do not plan to return to this restaurant. It's a pity, as going out to eat is a special occasion for us, and we hope that other establishments in the hospitality industry can understand and appreciate that."

"A bit disappointing to be honest. Visited with family friends on a Monday night. Admittedly not the best night usually for a restaurant visit. There werw 6 of us, we bought a bottle of Prosecco for aperitif. Decided against starters. My main, Lebanese chicken breast was tasty. Others were not so thrilled. A seafood pasta had a few mussels and a couple of shrimps. Another had a tough old pork Chop. Never mind, we all looked forward to affogato deserts. Waitress took our order, then came back to the table to say the freezer was broken so none of our deserts available. We paid the bill and left. By the way our Prosecco was a tad over £32 for the bottle. A bit of a pricey surprise. Our fault though, we should have asked the price first before ordering."

"I visit regularly every 2 3 weeks. It 's a lovely environment and there 's always plenty of space (never had a problem getting a table, ever! . There 's always a great selection of cakes, sausage rolls, etc you can also order from their menu. The people taking the order at the front are always polite, helpful and efficient (never had a bad person yet! . The food is always delivered super quickly (unlike some places that can take an age! , and is always of super quality. I have tried other Honey Harvey 's such as the nearby Woodbridge one, and they are nowhere near as efficient. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it."

"Went for a girly night out, which we were all looking forward to but only to be very disappointed. Firstly, place was cold we needed to keep our coats on. The food was so awful, rather spicy for what normally are mild dishes, food very oily, especially in the rice, not presented well. Naan bread was covered in greasy oil like cheese, disgusting. Also found a hair on the plate which immediately put us off. The service was very poor, only one person serving, we had to remind to bring cutlery and plates. The last straw was when our food arrived we were told no card machine and was cash only!! So we had to find a cash machine to pay our bill. Honestly we should of refused to pay as it was so bad. Sadly we will not be returning, had several takeaway months ago which were great. What has happened to this place? Do not waste your money nothing nice to say at all sorry!!"

"My first visit to The Ship at Levington was a wonderful experience. Despite being very busy, the atmosphere was great. We dined in a cozy side room off the main bar and although there was a bit of a wait, it was well worth it. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is situated next to the church in a beautiful location near the marina and River Orwell. I look forward to returning in the summer to see the pub in daylight hours. I highly recommend The Ship for its excellent food, service, and atmosphere, all rated 5 stars."
"Was passing through and noticed on Saturday and Sunday they open for Breakfast from 09:00. In we popped and had a full English, wow would be an appropriate summary. We were made very welcome by the chap behind the bar, ordered two full breakfasts and ice water. The presentation, quality of produce used and cooking was spot on.I highly recommend if you are in the area. We were told they do an outstanding fish and chips and Fridays its 241 after 15:00. We are in the area again at the end of August so we will be popping in :"

"We 'd heard good things about this 'artisan bakery ' so decided to give it a go, and opted for a chocolate éclair and an apple turnover with cream £2.80 each, to go). The first thing we realised is the weight; these certainly were heavier than anticipated. But, they looked good, so now to taste... The éclair choux pastry was crispy but let down by waxy cream filling and bland chocolate topping. There was little sweetness to this cake. Thr apple turnover was truly awful: pastry which should be light, flaky and sweet was thick and soggy we found it inedible! The cream filling was waxy and the apple tartan and meagre. We couldn 't eat it. We were looking forward to some sweet treats, so were hugely disappointed. Take a look at the pics and make your own mind up. We won 't be visiting again!"

"On a rainy Monday in Aldeburgh, mum and I were looking for somewhere to lunch. Originally we had chosen a different venue in the High Street to eat but after being ignored when waiting for a table and then ignored again while waiting to order, that coupled with their prices made us decide to leave and go to Munchies. I should add, no one even noticed us leave! I've eaten at Munchies many times before and, as always, we were met with a smile and a cheery greeting. We were shown to our table within a minute and only waited another five minutes before someone came to take our order. Although there was less choice than shown on the menu well, it was a Monday after a busy high season weekend what we chose was excellent. When I asked what herbal tea Munchies had, the waitress brought the full selection for me to choose from! The whole Munchies experience was, as I've always found, very friendly and with extremely good service. I wish we'd gone there first today I will do so from now on! As a footnote, I can say from past experience, in my opinion, Munchies' breakfasts are the best in Aldeburgh!"

"WOW! I am writing on behalf of my slightly intoxicated father who came in and negotiated for some food. I sincerely apologize for his behavior, but your service was incredible and the way you handled him was impressive. We are regular customers here, coming in a couple times a month. The food is the best! It is definitely worth the money. The staff are amazing, very kind, always prompt, and there is a wide variety of options to choose from. Thank you, guys!"

"Not the first time that small extras have been missed off my order, but usually i can excuse it due to it being during peak busy times/days but it’s happened multiple times now. I know they’re only small things but I still paid for them nonetheless and it’s disappointing to see them be missed over and over"

"Last night, on November 5th, 2023, we attended a fireworks display. The atmosphere was great and the display itself was excellent. However, we were disappointed with the food available. The hot dogs and burgers were served cold and lacked flavor, with no sauces provided. The burger was dry and the hot dog was cold, including the onions. For the price of £5.00 each, this was very disappointing. Next year, we will eat at home before attending the event. Despite the food, we will still go again as the overall experience was enjoyable."

"Came to the pub with a group of friends to have some drinks and a catch up. One of the bar staff was incredibly sour and refused to answer simple yes or no questions about what drinks they had to offer as it “wasn’t our turn”. Whilst waiting patiently to be served, the same bartender rudely barged past us to get back to the bar, calling my friend “stupid” for standing where she was, after she politely moved aside to let him past. The owner of the pub was no better! As they were closing, he went around the premises aggressively telling people to f off out of the pub. The lack of courtesy and manners from the workers is truly distasteful and unacceptable. It’s such a shame as the pub itself has such a great atmosphere. Don’t bother coming it you were thinking of doing do."
