"Spent a fabulous night here in Room 6 with spectacular panoramic views out to sea. Large room and bathroom. Very clean throughout. Restaurant food and breakfast superb. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely return. Only issue was being woken in the early hours of the morning by chairs and tables scrapping on the floor below which we presume was someone cleaning the bar area. Pointed this out in an email to the hotel but no reply or apology received. An expensive room for a disturbed night's sleep."

"I really liked this multi-roomed Adnams pub situated across the road from the 17th century Moot hall and seafront gardens. If you enter from the sea facing side then you walk through two front areas mainly aligned for dining before reaching the bar and an additional two areas which are more set up just for drinking. A nice Creme and sea blue decor throughout and plenty of period black and white photos of the local area to provide some character. 4 Adnams ales were on with the usual Broadside, Southwold Bitter and Ghostship, but I went for the Regatta golden ale and very good it was. We were only in for drinks on this lunchtime as we intended to graze from the seafood shacks on the stone beach a short walk away, and I like the fact that there was a good mix of people eating and just drinking, even in the front two rooms. This was probably the pick of the pubs I tried in Aldeburgh."

"Google maps said this place was open 10-4 today so I went for it. At 10:30 the proprietor was taking chairs off the tables as if opening! I asked are you open? and he said no, it says open weekends 10-4 (I paraphrase) and pointed to a sign on the door, which does indeed say Open weekends 10-4 . I then asked, oh, not during the week then? and he didn 't look up and carried on cleaning tables, presumably in preparation for tomorrow morning 's business! The sign itself may be accurate but does not necessarily imply that the café is not open at all during the week. I left frankly feeling deflated and slightly embarrassed after having been spoken to in such a patronising and rude way. It doesn 't bode well for the dining experience for the few who turn up on the right day!"

"6 of us visited a couple of weeks ago. I chose the Sweet and Sour pork off the Specials menu. Well, everyone else's meals arrived but not mine. Apologies and assurance it would be a few minutes. After a few more minutes, it arrived with apologies and a blame on the ordering system. What arrived was sad. It was cubes of freshly cut, but old, cold pork quickly dumped into a commercial sauce, heated up and served in a rush. Cold pork takes on a definite taste when left for a while or even days and this pork had this taste. Everyone else's meals looked fine so why pick on me?. I think this was a way of using up leftover pork, maybe even from the previous weekend's Sunday roast. I didn't complain because someone else had picked up the bill. I would have welcomed an admission that the S S pork was not available and I would have been very happy with ham egg chips. My advice to customers and owners alike...Just stick to more usual pub food. ."

"The main issue was that my dish did not match the description on the menu. When I inquired about it, I was informed that I had been told upon arrival that there were no steaks available and that there was a new chef. This was surprising since I had ordered sausage and mash! The menu described my meal as featuring special sausages, creamy mash, red wine jus, roast sage, buttered leeks, cabbage, and crackling. I was particularly excited about the crackling and had asked if it would be crispy, to which I was assured it would be. However, what I received was just sausages, mash, gravy, and kale—not at all what I expected. There were additional issues with the meal, but I do appreciate that the staff tried to rectify the situation after I expressed my dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, by the time they asked what else I would like, my companions had already finished their meals, and I ended up not eating a main dish at all. It seems the pub has recently changed ownership or management, and if things aren't addressed promptly, the chain may lose customers. Overall, it was an expensive outing that resulted in a very disappointing meal and experience. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 "
"My wife and I enjoyed lunch at this wonderful place today. It is a great spot with plenty of parking, a friendly and professional staff, and a classic English pub atmosphere. The food was amazing, with a variety of interesting specials, and they were able to accommodate my wife's dietary needs. Unfortunately, we had a mishap where the pepper dispenser spilled all over my wife's meal. The staff handled the situation exceptionally well, offering a sincere apology and quickly replacing the meal with a brand new dish within 5 minutes. We were very pleased with the level of service, especially in a challenging situation. Overall, we highly recommend The Cherry Tree for a fantastic dining experience."

"We have visited this restaurant multiple times, primarily because of its convenient location and the quality of the meals. However, we often feel rushed during our visits. The staff frequently push for our food order within minutes of being seated, barely giving us time to enjoy our drinks. Even when we politely ask for more time, they return shortly after to take our order, and our food arrives quickly afterwards. Our dining experience can feel rushed and more like fast food, with the staff even asking about dessert early on because the chef wanted to leave early. It's quite absurd how quickly they try to get customers in and out. While it may be suitable for those in a hurry, it seems like they prioritize speed over customer satisfaction. They may need to consider treating their guests better if they want to keep their jobs."

"Funky interesting (dark, moody, sophisticated) external look outside carried through into the servery. Counter staff were friendly efficient. We ordered tea, coffee, orange tiffin. Relaxed atmosphere carried through to the back where although not busy there were quite a few uncleared uncleaned tables. This encouraged us to sit outside where the tables were available. Our order arrived, delivered by a fairly monosyllabic teen, evidently still growing by the way he managed to thump items down slop tea. Unfortunately, the wrong tea arrived the replacement tea was so totally under brewed that my other half judged it, the worst I 've had in years. Meanwhile, the tiffin proved to be construction grade. Before leaving a quick trip to the (singular) toilet revealed a scene straight from a bad service station, the kind where some bloke decides to hose the entire floor, pull the toilet roll to the floor so it wicks up the puddles, uses all of the soap/sanitiser, and wipes his wet hands on the door handle as he leaves. No idea if/how often the toilet is checked by staff because there was no record available but going by the state of the place ...... my only hope is that this isn 't the same facility used by the staff. Yuk!"

"We were greeted by a waitress who appeared disinterested and unfriendly based on her interaction and body language. I had to turn my body to talk to her during our first encounter. When my husband asked for Aspel Drift Cider, she informed us that they did not have any on tap, but when he went to the bar, he discovered that they did indeed sell it. The waiter who took our food order was wearing shorts, which we found to be unprofessional. Our food took an hour to arrive, and while it may have been freshly prepared, the Thyme Chicken in cream sauce that my daughter and I ordered seemed to have an excess of dried thyme. The roast potatoes were undercooked and pale, lacking a crispy surface, and the plate was mostly covered with a packet of frozen peas. We were disappointed with the overall experience, and although we did not speak up at the time, we do not plan to return to this restaurant. It's a pity, as going out to eat is a special occasion for us, and we hope that other establishments in the hospitality industry can understand and appreciate that."

"A bit disappointing to be honest. Visited with family friends on a Monday night. Admittedly not the best night usually for a restaurant visit. There werw 6 of us, we bought a bottle of Prosecco for aperitif. Decided against starters. My main, Lebanese chicken breast was tasty. Others were not so thrilled. A seafood pasta had a few mussels and a couple of shrimps. Another had a tough old pork Chop. Never mind, we all looked forward to affogato deserts. Waitress took our order, then came back to the table to say the freezer was broken so none of our deserts available. We paid the bill and left. By the way our Prosecco was a tad over £32 for the bottle. A bit of a pricey surprise. Our fault though, we should have asked the price first before ordering."

"I visit regularly every 2 3 weeks. It 's a lovely environment and there 's always plenty of space (never had a problem getting a table, ever! . There 's always a great selection of cakes, sausage rolls, etc you can also order from their menu. The people taking the order at the front are always polite, helpful and efficient (never had a bad person yet! . The food is always delivered super quickly (unlike some places that can take an age! , and is always of super quality. I have tried other Honey Harvey 's such as the nearby Woodbridge one, and they are nowhere near as efficient. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it."

"First time this year that we have been back to the Prince and it was a very bad experience. The very young waiters did not have a clue what they were supposed to be doing with the the guy taking an order for drinks from the first person on a table of 7 and then going to the bar to return to then take the next next order from diner #2. After spending about 45 mins of waiting for our order to be taken, listening to the staff apologising to people coming in for takeaways that weren't ready or were wrong and dinners that had finished there meals on the table behind us complaining that there chicken was raw we decided to leave. We then got charged £40 for 5 soft drinks and 12 popadums. We will not be going back. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"We came here for Sunday dinner. Our table wasn’t ready for 40 minutes as the previous diners hadn’t finished but this didn’t deter the staff accepting more walk ins for dinner. We were eventually shown a table, where my husband noticed pizza, chips and cutlery under the table. We asked a member of staff to sweep under the table where she put the dirty cutlery on the table totally unacceptable. There we sat and sat and sat. My daughter went to the bar and asked a member of staff if they would come and take our order, again we waited and waited. Again my daughter got up and asked if someone would come and take our order. And still, the pub was accepting walk ins! After a 90 minute wait, the starters arrived all but one up she got again and mentioned we still awaiting a starter. Plates were cleared and then we waited and waited and waited. Customers who arrived after ourselves were leaving as they had finished their meals and us, yes we were still waiting. Main course wasn’t worth the wait. Not once did a member of staff come to ask if everything was OK. My daughter went up to settle the bill where they came up with all these excuses, staff changeover, short staffed (if this is the case then don’t accept more walk ins) said they would take off a child’s meal that isn’t the point. Just wanted a good meal with good conversation and good service."
"Was passing through and noticed on Saturday and Sunday they open for Breakfast from 09:00. In we popped and had a full English, wow would be an appropriate summary. We were made very welcome by the chap behind the bar, ordered two full breakfasts and ice water. The presentation, quality of produce used and cooking was spot on.I highly recommend if you are in the area. We were told they do an outstanding fish and chips and Fridays its 241 after 15:00. We are in the area again at the end of August so we will be popping in :"

"A bit less pretentious and showy than places in the square but good basic fare at reasonable prices. Great coffee. Bacon roll is colossal. Fab doughnuts. Can't really understand the reviews that say the staff are poorly trained or unfriendly. They aren't gushy or have-a-nice-day ish but I go in regularly and find them welcoming and helpful. Very good WiFi as well."

"Susie is a pillar of the community and deeply cares about Aldeburgh and its residents. During lockdown, she operated a 'Meals on Wheels' service for the elderly, vulnerable, and isolated, ensuring they were fed and had some sort of interaction. She even sacrificed her own Christmas to deliver hot lunches to those in need. In addition to her charitable work, Susie also operates a litter picking scheme and continually looks for new ways to innovate, such as offering 'Click and Collect' takeaway, picnic boxes in the summer, and Munchies Ready Meals. The hospitality industry is tough, especially during these challenging times, but Susie and her team have been providing great food, reasonable prices, and friendly service for 22 years. As a local, I may be biased, but I highly recommend Munchies to all customers, whether they are locals, day visitors, or holiday makers. Thank you to Susie and the team for all that you do!"

"Last night, on November 5th, 2023, we attended a fireworks display. The atmosphere was great and the display itself was excellent. However, we were disappointed with the food available. The hot dogs and burgers were served cold and lacked flavor, with no sauces provided. The burger was dry and the hot dog was cold, including the onions. For the price of £5.00 each, this was very disappointing. Next year, we will eat at home before attending the event. Despite the food, we will still go again as the overall experience was enjoyable."

"The award-winning smoked products from the artisan smokehouse are excellent and extremely tasty! Our favorite dishes include duck, carpaccio bark, salmon, and the amazing truffle gouda cheese. I have had meals at Deli Cafe Barn at different times of the day and have never been disappointed. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, a drink with a sausage roll, or a private booking for 25 people (reservations recommended), this place has it all. The coffee, tea selection, and cold drinks are also top-notch. However, the best part of this cozy spot is the friendly and accommodating employees and owners, especially Tim Gill. The combination of excellent products, delicious food and drinks, a charming location, and friendly staff make this cafe a must-visit. If you can't visit in person, online ordering is a great alternative, with their hampers making perfect gifts for special occasions."

"Came to the pub with a group of friends to have some drinks and a catch up. One of the bar staff was incredibly sour and refused to answer simple yes or no questions about what drinks they had to offer as it “wasn’t our turn”. Whilst waiting patiently to be served, the same bartender rudely barged past us to get back to the bar, calling my friend “stupid” for standing where she was, after she politely moved aside to let him past. The owner of the pub was no better! As they were closing, he went around the premises aggressively telling people to f off out of the pub. The lack of courtesy and manners from the workers is truly distasteful and unacceptable. It’s such a shame as the pub itself has such a great atmosphere. Don’t bother coming it you were thinking of doing do."
