"We have visited this restaurant multiple times, primarily because of its convenient location and the quality of the meals. However, we often feel rushed during our visits. The staff frequently push for our food order within minutes of being seated, barely giving us time to enjoy our drinks. Even when we politely ask for more time, they return shortly after to take our order, and our food arrives quickly afterwards. Our dining experience can feel rushed and more like fast food, with the staff even asking about dessert early on because the chef wanted to leave early. It's quite absurd how quickly they try to get customers in and out. While it may be suitable for those in a hurry, it seems like they prioritize speed over customer satisfaction. They may need to consider treating their guests better if they want to keep their jobs."

Excellent Sunday Lunch. The Beef and fresh vegetables were cooked to perfection and lovely crispy roast potatoes. The atmosphere was nice in a very traditional old world pub. The staff were attentive without being overbearing and an asset to the pub . A really enjoyable...visit to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary. Thank you View menu

I like this pub and where it is located, I had already visited many before the past with the family, but recently she paid a visit adult and two children, a drink each and a few krisps only three alcohol drinks. orange juice and limonade at this place they will reset next time I just won't bother and take my own food and drink, shande, although it is too expensive now.

Great pub with great atmosphere, a ‘proper pub’ rustic certainly not spoilt by lots of modernisation . Food was delicious we had the lighter lunch menu , fish was plentiful fresh well kept beers . Staff were lovely very accommodating....Plenty of space to socially distance if desired . Super location with some great walks nearby . Would def recommend a visit to the Ferry boat .

I went for lunch today and honestly, the food was decent. But the biggest issue was how dirty the place was! As soon as we sat down at our table, we couldn't believe how dirty everything was - the floors, walls, and chairs were all filthy. They really need a health and safety inspection because the amount of dust and dirt everywhere is unacceptable. The place must be a breeding ground for germs. View menu

We chose The Ferry Boat Inn for my daughter's birthday meal as its local and has good reviews and amazing seafood! We weren't disappointed. We had the garden room for of us on a Saturday evening and were looked after by the wonderful...staff from start to finish! They decorated the table for me which took the pressure off and we couldn't have asked for a better evening! Food was fab and I would highly recommend it for family do's. Helen B

We visited today after having not visited for some time as we were dissatisfied with the inflated prices and quality of food before. We went back today and the staff were very helpful and friendly and good service. The pub has the lovely old pub feel...and the wood burner was on. However, the food had not improved just got more expensive and the quality remained substandard. for a baguette with a few chips. There is no choice of bread (white pappy bread only) and the price seems too much for what you actually get. It could be so good but they appear reliant on having the monopoly in the area and don't invest into quality, it could be so much better.

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
