"The award-winning smoked products from the artisan smokehouse are excellent and extremely tasty! Our favorite dishes include duck, carpaccio bark, salmon, and the amazing truffle gouda cheese. I have had meals at Deli Cafe Barn at different times of the day and have never been disappointed. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, a drink with a sausage roll, or a private booking for 25 people (reservations recommended), this place has it all. The coffee, tea selection, and cold drinks are also top-notch. However, the best part of this cozy spot is the friendly and accommodating employees and owners, especially Tim Gill. The combination of excellent products, delicious food and drinks, a charming location, and friendly staff make this cafe a must-visit. If you can't visit in person, online ordering is a great alternative, with their hampers making perfect gifts for special occasions."

"I visited today with my sons 2 and 9, their grandma and great grandma. The staff were sooo brilliant and they have a great menu of homemade and local food. It is extreemly child friendly with colouring and an array of plastic tablewear and childrens...cutlery. They make by far the best latte I have ever had and the ham egg and chips were out of this world. They are friendly and accomodating and the view is fantastic. I could not recommend this place more and it knocks spots off others."

"nicely maintained beach pub. we were here for two nights. staff very helpful, rooms modern well furnished and clean. bathroom modern clean and all facilities. breakfast: simple full English if you want and most other usual things. well cooked on both mornings. in. all very nice. a tad expensive on the room side, but as everything was good I am not broken. only negatiw was that the wifi did not exist most of the time when I wanted it (not much). they set up breakfast in front of the roaring log burner I found uncomfortable so we moved (not a problem). the big question is if I stay back?"

"Love this place and the fish selection available on the menu. We arrived on a Saturday and used the online booking system but I don’t recall it giving us the option to tell them we were bringing 3 dogs with us. We arrived early and popped in to say we had 3 dogs and the lovely guy who was leaving the next day arranged a nice table for us in the main bar. Some people arrived after us for lunch and headed for the dining area with dogs but needed to be redirected as clearly didn’t know dogs are not allowed in the dining room. We prefer the main bar as is nice and spacious and great if you are bringing dogs. Oysters were amazing as always and the lobster was great although I would prefer the salad that accompanied it to be in a separate dish rather than on the wooden board. Can’t wait to come back here it’s amazing and if I lived locally I would be there every week. Thanks for a great lunch."

"I was so impressed by this hotel. We received a warm welcome from manager Matthew and were shown to our gorgeous 'classic ' room on the first floor. The room was spacious and very tastefully decorated. It was truly one of the nicest country hotel rooms i have stayed in. The bathroom was large, with a walk in shower, lovely toiletries and fluffy towels. The room was well equipped with a safe, coffee maker and kettle, air cooling unit and large TV. We very much enjoyed our breakfast which had plenty of hot and cold options. The common spaces were also beautifully decorated, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Aldeburgh is only a 15-20 minute drive away and there are also country walks nearby. A great choice for a couple of days away. It is worth checking their website for special deals."

"The Froize is lovely! We are arrived to a cosy and welcoming bar for a pre dinner drink served by a friendly lady. We went through to our table and were taken aback by the food on display on the hot table. It looked and smelled delicious and it was really hard to choose. It seemed like the chef and host David has figured out everyone’s 6 or so favourite meals and then added his own knowledge of flavours to take them to another level. Puddings were another tough choice and didn’t disappoint. Don’t confuse The Froize with a buffet or carvery, it is so much more than that. It’s a restaurant where you can see and smell the dishes before you choose and then you’re served by the chef himself. The tables are well spaced so you don’t feel squeezed in or crowded and the atmosphere is quite special. I could write much more but I will just say that The Froize is perfect in every way and give my thanks to the team for a lovely evening. It was our first visit but most definitely will be the first of many more."

"I have known this fantastic cafe for a long time. Both my children went to school in FRAM. We popped into the Laughing Goat yesterday for a Cuppuchino with a vanilla shot. Definitely the best coffee it was sooooo good. We also had a Bacon Roll and a Coke with lots of ice in the glass and the Can of Coke was really cold. Excellent Bacon Roll. It’s also nice to go to a Cafe where you are actually sold a cold drink that is actually cold and refreshing the only way to serve a drink!! We will be coming back soon. Thank you. The Scott’s"

"Ordered my lunch and was told there was a 20 minute delay. Happy to wait. Half an hour later received my drinks. After a further 10 minutes I chased up the order, to find it had been overlooked. I then waited a further 30 minutes for my three sandwiches. Two customers, who turned up after I chased up the order, received their food before me. The owner explained they were short on staff and apologised but customer service is not their forte. With all this time to spare, I also noticed that I had been overcharged. The owner queried whether I wanted to be refunded the overpayment strange request. To complete matters, one of the sandwiches had a hair in it! Whilst an apology is gratefully received, some compensation for my delay would have made me think twice about writing this review. We all make mistakes but how we deal with them, leaving the customer feeling happy, is what customer service is about."

"£9.50 for a rubbery beef and horseradish sandwich , basically taken out of the cold counter display and slapped on a plate still in its wrapper with no garnish etc . Leek and potato Soup £6.50 tasted as though it was made from a packet with no sign of any real vegetables in it , very watery and tasteless . Shocking for a place like this . Could be so much nicer and we won’t be eating here again ."

"we were on a late morning visit and tied lunch so this was a first visit. when we had the dog with us, we sat outside, but in the covered area. at the bar and the staff very friendly ordered. my wife had beer battered fishing finger sandwich I had blt. both came with a little bite and crawling with a nasalate. my wife sandwich was excellent, but mine had a little brot. asked if they had salat dress or saw and was said no!? the fish fingers were big and she was very happy, but as I have a little disappointed with my blt especially at the price of good that we have in the position to have the dog with us, but overall can only say average and expensive for what they get."

"Initial service was good but once we had our meal delivered we were ignored and left with our dirty plates for at least half an hour. Eventually the plates were removed we asked for coffee which was ignored and the bill bought over. Partly due to this delay and a disruptive group next to us 5 adults and 3 children crammed on a table for 6 we left as soon as we could."

"We had a really lovely meal at the Black Tiles today to celebrate my dad’s 86th birthday with family. There were 12 of us and we had various meals, including roast dinners, burgers and pizza. All were delicious! One of the children is quite a fussy eater but it was no problem for the chef to cook a special pasta dish not on the normal menu. She loved it! We brought along a birthday cake and we were offered plates and a knife. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff, and a special mention goes to Sarah one of our waitresses. My dad enjoyed his celebration very much. Thank you Black Tiles!"

"The White Horse is a classic pub with a wide selection of drinks. We decided to give it a try while staying nearby. The service was friendly, and I ordered the steak pie with gravy, mashed vegetables. The pie and gravy were tasty, but there wasn't much meat in the pie. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were dense and seemed like they came from a packet. The vegetables were very crunchy, making them difficult to cut. My husband had the fish and chips, which was good. We both had a dessert, which was delicious and addictive. The pub gets very crowded, but overall it's a great place to visit."

"Second visit to just eat and this time went in bar rather than dining room. Rather stern Eastern European lady took our order, not really the welcome I was expecting after last visit but I guess we can’t always be cheery so can forgive that and rest of experience was ok. Didn’t really test the kitchen with 2 sandwiches ordered but nothing to complain about. It’s not cheap to eat anywhere on Alderburgh with some cafes charging nearly £4 for coffees so if you are going to pay that, might as well do it in the town’s finest hotel. Absolute no brainer when it’s warm enough for tea on the terrace. Want to go back for half board now we’re confident it’s a well run hotel, we normally self cater but figure the Wentworth is an unusually good hotel and need to go before we need the lift which it still hadn’t got mind you this doesn’t seem to keep clientele average age down which is ok with me!"

"I called the pub on Thursday evening and booked a table for dinner at 7pm Saturday 30th July Turned up at 6.45 and barman advised us the owners/chefs had gone out for dinner so no food was being served He checked the diary for us, which I must say didn't seem to have one entry in it. We had come all the way from Southend in Essex so bad no idea were else to go. On the way back to our accomodation we spotted another pub and had a great meal. Needless to say avoid this place like the plague, so incompetent and I'm gob smacked they take a booking then go out Terrible way to run a business, no wonder there was not a soul In the place"

"Myself, my parter and his daughter attempted a visit for lunch today. Upon arrived. We chose to check in manually. This was a breach of GDPR, we were a form to take to the table with other people’s names, addresses and phone numbers on there. This was left on our table until we left. We then waited 15 minutes for someone to approach our table to collect our order, of which we ordered both drinks and food. Over half an hour later, we asked the staff where our drinks were and were told that our order had been lost, by a member of staff who chose to wear her mask over her chin. The only option we were given would be for us to re order and we would be at the back of the pile with another 30 minute wait time for the food. We chose to leave and all we got was a ‘wishy-washy’ apology, no offer of a being fast tracked for food or complimentary drinks."

"My partner and I recently had a fantastic lunch at Flora Tea Rooms. As visitors to the area, we didn't know what to expect from a seaside café, but we were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this gem. Both being vegetarians, we opted for the cheese omelette which was delicious. The menu was extensive and all the dishes being served to other tables looked just as appetizing and fresh. The chips were amazing and the side salad went above and beyond with its mix of beetroot, peppers, and coleslaw. Despite it being October, the cafe had a steady flow of customers which is a testament to its popularity. The staff worked seamlessly together to provide friendly and efficient service. Well done, Flora Tea Rooms!"

"I came here for a quick lunch with a friend and her daughters. Our server, Anthony, was good. The food overall was good as well, typical of a franchise restaurant. However, when the guy brought out my plate, he didn't warn me that it was extremely hot. As he went to hand it to me, I burned my fingertips. I tried to grab it from where he was holding it, but it was still extremely hot. I'm not sure how he was able to hold it, but we ended up dropping the plate on the table because he had no holders. I informed our server about the incident, and he apologized, although it wasn't his fault. I ordered conch fritters and spinach dip for the table, but I didn't like the sauce with the fritters. For my main dish, I ordered plantain cups filled with beef, which were overall good."

"We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We were told there would be a 25-minute wait, but ended up waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for our food. When we finally received our order, it was lukewarm and missing an item. We used to enjoy dining here, but recently the owner's decision to have her teenage son handle phone calls and food orders has been a major issue. We will not be returning. The owner should consider hiring more staff and expanding the kitchen to improve efficiency. It is important for them to be more accurate with their wait times and only accept orders they can fulfill. We advise others not to trust the estimated preparation times and to double-check orders before leaving."

"I thought ordering by phone would be easier to avoid waiting, but upon arrival at the restaurant, I was asked if I had ordered. I responded that I had ordered by phone and was told to wait with five other people. After waiting for well over half an hour, I noticed a rock salmon in a different section, accompanied by some dried up cod. I inquired about the fish that had been staring at me for so long, and was told it was indeed mine. This prompted others nearby to inquire about their orders as well. The fish turned out to be very dry, but the chips, while fresh, were not even cooked when we got home. I would have considered canceling the order, but it wasn't for me and would have meant waiting longer. In the end, I chose to have Indian food across the street instead."
