"I am thrilled to have discovered The Greenhouse at Felixstowe, a cafe where we can enjoy everything on the menu as it is completely plant-based. During our recent visit, we indulged in a delicious brunch with coffees, sourdough avocado with a tofu mushroom topping, and a portobello mushroom sandwich with a variety of tasty fillings. We also couldn't resist taking away some of their famous sausage rolls and cakes. The staff was friendly and polite, the cafe was perfectly clean, and the atmosphere was lovely. The prices were competitive as well. Overall, a fantastic experience!"

"Amazing food! The burgers were cooked to perfection and the onion marmalade with Brie was a great topping! For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding, which was a must at this time of year. This dessert went above and beyond my expectations; I am confident that this is the best sticky toffee pudding in Suffolk! This restaurant/pub is very dog friendly as ours was treated just like any other customer. I love that the staff asked if it was okay to bring him treats over too, to which we said yes! Basil definitely wants to go back ASAP.The atmosphere here was so friendly and peaceful. We felt very relaxed and at ease. A final shout out to the staff who were attentive, polite and friendly. Also, we would like to thank the chef(s) for their immaculate food. We’ll definitely be popping back before our staycation ends!"

"We certainly won’t be eating here again. We ordered 4nr cooked breakfast of varies sizes with with varioys hot/cold drinks. Firstly, they ran out of mushrooms with no alternative to offer or reduction of cost. The breakfast then took a hefty 45 minutes to be served and to add insult to injury, when we decided or to stay for a further cup of tea we were told that we weren’t allowed to share a pot of tea for 2 i.e. one pot of earl grey one pot of English tea for four people ??!? I was astounded we were all astounded after spending over £40 here and willing to stay and spend more. It all started off very nice and all and very sour so we will not be eating here again with friends, family or otherwise."

"I visited the Maybush on a Tuesday evening to make the most of their 50% off food offer. Despite food being half price, this did not affect the quality of the food. The sea bass on the specials was the best I’ve had in a long time. My fussy children both enjoyed the Maybush stack too which was a bonus. The service was very prompt and the lady that served us was very kind. We will definitely be back soon Also the patrons only car park is free but if you park in the overflow you have to pay £2 but they refund it in the restaurant"

"This place certainly doesn't look like much from the outside or the inside but it isn't set up for fine dining. It is a cafe, a greasy spoon but with great tasting food and an owner with the heart of gold. It is a unique cafe with the fact that it operates out of the carcass of an old bus, it adds character. A good cafe is hard to find I feel. I work in the construction industry and we thrive on the use of these little cafes and it is hard to find a decent one amongst a saturated market, but this one is decent. I come here when I have the time and driving past. The breakfast is great and the owner is great for a bit of chat and banter. He is a good chef in his field of expertise. I am honest in the fact that if you want to impress a client then maybe don't bring them here as the looks aren't spectacular but any other time, dive right in. You won't be disappointed with the culinary results."

"I had previously booked this restaurant and had enjoyed lovely food and service, but unfortunately my return visit did not meet expectations. We were seated in a corner next to the toilet, with a dirty radiator underneath a foil-covered ceiling and 'crispy' napkins. Despite these warning signs, we decided to stay due to previous positive experiences. However, we were served flat fizzy drinks and overcharged, even after pointing out that the drinks were flat. The food was good, with tasty and hot dishes served in small portions, which worked well for a buffet-style restaurant. The service, on the other hand, was overly efficient and demanding. We were told multiple times to 'eat all' of our food, and even had to transfer uneaten items to our next course. We were also limited in our menu choices, with no crispy beef available and no dessert option. This experience was disappointing and we will not be returning. We should have left when we first noticed the flat drinks and gone to our usual spot, Mr Wings. It's a shame, as we had previously enjoyed dining here. Overall, it was not a pleasant or enjoyable evening, but rather one to remember for the wrong reasons. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a friendly family-run buffet restaurant."

"The Needham Mob took lunch here during the week and first impressions were not good. Distinct lack of staff and many people at tables clearly waiting for food. One has to to order own drinks and collect from the bar and after 40 minutes no menus received we had to go to the bar to ask and wait another 10 minutes for them to arrive. To order more drinks again up to the bar and often no one was behind the bar serving. Had to ask for orders to be taken. A couple on an adjacent table had clearly had the same experience and walked out. We persevered. Eventually orders were taken and it was along wait for starters to arrive. Another long wait for mains. The food was good although one member of the party had the fish cakes and commented they were tasteless. Had to ask and wait for the bill and then again to the bar to pay. It was not an enjoyable lunch time and as this review is titled seemed just one level up from self service. Suggest the establishment employs more staff as they clearly lost custom on the day by people walking out."

"Wow, just returned from a spontaneous stop off on the way home and we are so pleased to have come across this place. Although full and the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes the staff could not have done anymore to accommodate us. The aroma...when we entered on the off chance could quite possibly have resulted in us protesting with a sit in it just smelt divine! We sat and ordered without feeling rushed at any point. The food arrived and just did not disappont tasted totally home made, the spices and flavours just oozed and the mealss were HUGE!! We had 2 different curries, hunters chicken and burger we all rated our meals out of this world. We were stuffed and gutted to not have enough room left in our bellies for the desserts...we kept looking longingly at the cabinet but decided we will just have to go back again to reenact the experience and finish off with a pudding...trouble would be deciding which one!!! We would just like to thank the incredibly attentive staff for their warmth and friendliness out the front and the most fabulous chefs who produced and created such works of art out the back. All round a wonderful five star experience!! We will be back!!"

"Had called into this pub on a few occasions and the restaurant was always busy which to me is always a good sign but how wrong I was….hoisin duck spring rolls for starters with some dry lettuce and spring onions, 3 battered ‘tempura’ prawns with again garnished with dry lifeless lettuce wasn’t a good start….handmade burgers were okay again dry lettuce leafs no dressing…limited vegetables seemed cabbage was the main ingredient…staff not really that attentive didn’t ask whether everything was okay and room was cold will not rush to go back"

"We were visiting the McMichael Gallery and passed by this uninspiring looking BBQ place on Islington Ave north of Hwy 7. We decided to stop in for lunch since we're fans of BBQ and discovering places off the beaten path. The place inside matched its exterior, unassuming and rustic. Don't expect modern or bright decor. You go for the food and service. The young people were friendly and attentive. The wings, ribs and fries came out in quick order and were delightfully messy and tasty. Prices were very reasonable and portions were generous. The menu offers lots of BBQ choices from combos, platters, beef, pork or chicken sandwiches and even salads although that's not why you visit this place. They offer a couple dozen different sauces to suit your taste or tolerance. There's lots of parking in the back. Fairly popular with the flannel shirt crowd at lunch. They know a great value when they eat one."

"My wife, our small dog, and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Juniper Barn. My wife loved her avocado, bacon, and chilli jam sandwich, remarking on its superb taste and generous portion. I personally had the Suffolk hodge podge, which was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Even our dog enjoyed her sausage. The service and food at Juniper Barn were outstanding, and we are grateful to the staff for a wonderful dining experience."

"because we live, we rarely go by before that is much too late to breakfast, so this is a reviesw of the load, and our experience is something mixed. cheeses in the main are excellent although the stylton needs to eat as...soon as it is open as I have found that if kept open for too long, it develops a rather sharp taste. the olives are standard olives and not better than rolfes by walsham, which are half price. wrists of gammon are good throughout as the cut ham, although we have recently been amused to see that our package of seasoned Christmas had a best before november. in the danger of the ceremonies I add only one hauch of oil for the black smoked speck, as I otherwise find it too dry. So, good quality for which they pay a premium, and with one or two personal glitches. but we still call when we always come by to see what new things are. P.S the rioja is excellent!"

"We drove an hour to get there, it was well worth it. I'm assured the steak and the lobster were excellent, and my fish was superb. The menu was well thought out, not a big range but a sufficient variety to suit most tastes. Waiting times were of that length where you're not wondering where your food has gone, nor worried it was hurried. Probably a nice view out to sea during the day...(evening visit, dark out) Yes. Go. Also, the alcohol free IPA was surprisingly ok."

"Thursday 30 jan22 was our fourth visit since the takeover of the new owner and his always good beer and eat etc. but unfortunately there has gone a bit quite wrong now. we were a party of 3 this time, but 4-6 at earlier locations. three. steaks, two were in order, the third was the half of the size and not the same cut. I should have sent it back, but the others in the party had a good time so I had it slipped, which was a mistake. then moved back into the desert two were good, the third (mine) was a pure ice cream, but I soon discovered to my frightening a sharp clump of plastic (probably broken from the storage container lid) in my mouth the size of a £ 1 coin! I hate to think what might be happy. this was the last stray, until the counter (plastic and ice in the hand) and told the waitress, where I was offered a replacement or ice from the bill. no apology by management. No, I'm sorry. I just couldn't believe what I heard. because I suspected that the duty would come to a number of people and later talked about it. Oh and yes, it gets worse. we ordered a few take-beers and it came from another and I thought a few words of apology or a discount maybe, na zilch. we paid left and with no tip. it is only the quality of the beer that stops this total value lees. our group visits rendham several times a year, but we will not go there again! the personal needs a certain training to deal with such problems, although it should not be before. tony reading"

"The best find in Walberswick for a drop off. After finding this by accident a few months ago, we make it our “must visit” stop every time we visit for the day. On this occasion we opted for their fantastic sausage rolls and salad, with a fantastic flat white. Our spotty dog didn’t get forgotten either when the excellent guy who always works there presented him with a home made biscuit. The staff are always friendly and full of smiles, the place is always bustling and we absolutely love visiting time and time again. Highly recommend"

"This was my first visit to the cafe, it was nice to be able to chose the components for my breakfast and I was pleased to see an old favourite of mine,,, bubble and squeak was on the menu . What a superior breakfast it was. The components were quality and cooked nicely . Don’t expect some gut busting builders breakfast made from cheap products in here . What you get is nice quality , nicely presented . The staff were pleasant and the place was clean and beautifully decorated . 10/10 ladies"

"Back in 2016, I left a scathing review of Westerfields after a terrible dinner experience. Fast forward six years and we decided to give it another try with a bit of hesitation. I am pleased to say that I am completely changing my tune and giving the restaurant a solid 5-star rating. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and attentive, with nothing to fault. The only disappointment was that there were only two tables in use that evening, as more people should be enjoying this wonderful place."

"Usually have really good fish and chips here, but.... Closing time stated as 2.30. Arrived about 2.05pm, and was turned away as chef was 'closing '!! Hmm why say you shut at 2.30 when it 's really more like 2.07?! So we went to the other one Fish Dish, open all day, and very good! Turning people away because you 're closing earlier than stated, is unwelcoming and unprofessional! There are othet cafe/restaurants in Felixstowe!"

"Today my dad sister and I attending the restaurant with my mother. My mother is 75 today and has dementia and Alzheimer's and in a wheelchair. We were able to take her out of her care home for a birthday coffee and cake. My sister called ahead to reserve a table in a quiet area which Neil kindly did for us. On arrival I spoke with Dawn. This young lady could not do enough to help us. She brought our coffees to our table, checked we had everything we needed, took some memorable photos of us all together (This does not ever happen and will always be remembered). What a credit to your company Dawn is, she was kind caring compassionate all with a smile. Well done Dawn you truly made my mum's birthday and our visit extra special. Thank you x"

"We were warmly welcomed and chose quinoa patties with goats cheese, pesto snd salad and caesar salad which was supposed to be with smoked chicken but they'd run out so was offered smoked salmon instead. Both very tasty and fitting for a summer menu. Very slow to be served...not quite sure why but we weren't in a rush thankfully and were able to browse the farm shop and art work whilst waiting. The homemade quince and apple juice was amazing. We had delicious hummingbird (pineapple fruit nuts) cake with coffee for afters..but could have chosen any of the delicious looking homemade cakes. Service was pleasant throughout but possibly a mention regarding the wait on food would have been good. However very happy to return both to the shop and the cafe."
