"We arrived as a party of five and wondered if we would get in as we hadn 't booked a table, we stood at the door waiting to be seated but it transpired that this establishment doesn 't have a Maître De and other diners pushed past us to claim a space at one of the Formica tables. Having taken a seat we couldn 't see any waiters and so as the head of the family I made my way to the counter but was redirected by a spotty, unkempt youth to a screen to order my food!! Luckily I had my children 's nanny who has a GSCE in IT and she was volunteered to order our food. Imagine my horror upon discovering there is no wine list, tasting menu or Al a Carte on offer, just a selection of nasty cheap burgers and something called fries, all served in cardboard containers and on a plastic tray! There was no tablecloths, fabric napkins or even cutlery!! I decided to complain to the manager but was told by one of the staff that he was busy having a fag out the back, incandescent with rage I told him I would be writing to the Times to show my displeasure and promptly gathered up my family to leave. Pushing our way past the large clientele, who all appeared to be wearing ill fitting sports wear, we made our way back to the Range Rover and drove towards the exit. However the horror wasn 't over as we then found ourselves in the wrong lane and sat in a queue for something called a drive through , eventually we made it out passing a number of parked vehicles, in which people appeared to be eating! I will not be returning to this establishment and will be having a quiet word with the local mayor at our next round of golf or lodge meeting"

"£9.50 for a rubbery beef and horseradish sandwich , basically taken out of the cold counter display and slapped on a plate still in its wrapper with no garnish etc . Leek and potato Soup £6.50 tasted as though it was made from a packet with no sign of any real vegetables in it , very watery and tasteless . Shocking for a place like this . Could be so much nicer and we won’t be eating here again ."

"we were on a late morning visit and tied lunch so this was a first visit. when we had the dog with us, we sat outside, but in the covered area. at the bar and the staff very friendly ordered. my wife had beer battered fishing finger sandwich I had blt. both came with a little bite and crawling with a nasalate. my wife sandwich was excellent, but mine had a little brot. asked if they had salat dress or saw and was said no!? the fish fingers were big and she was very happy, but as I have a little disappointed with my blt especially at the price of good that we have in the position to have the dog with us, but overall can only say average and expensive for what they get."

"Initial service was good but once we had our meal delivered we were ignored and left with our dirty plates for at least half an hour. Eventually the plates were removed we asked for coffee which was ignored and the bill bought over. Partly due to this delay and a disruptive group next to us 5 adults and 3 children crammed on a table for 6 we left as soon as we could."

"Thursday 30 jan22 was our fourth visit since the takeover of the new owner and his always good beer and eat etc. but unfortunately there has gone a bit quite wrong now. we were a party of 3 this time, but 4-6 at earlier locations. three. steaks, two were in order, the third was the half of the size and not the same cut. I should have sent it back, but the others in the party had a good time so I had it slipped, which was a mistake. then moved back into the desert two were good, the third (mine) was a pure ice cream, but I soon discovered to my frightening a sharp clump of plastic (probably broken from the storage container lid) in my mouth the size of a £ 1 coin! I hate to think what might be happy. this was the last stray, until the counter (plastic and ice in the hand) and told the waitress, where I was offered a replacement or ice from the bill. no apology by management. No, I'm sorry. I just couldn't believe what I heard. because I suspected that the duty would come to a number of people and later talked about it. Oh and yes, it gets worse. we ordered a few take-beers and it came from another and I thought a few words of apology or a discount maybe, na zilch. we paid left and with no tip. it is only the quality of the beer that stops this total value lees. our group visits rendham several times a year, but we will not go there again! the personal needs a certain training to deal with such problems, although it should not be before. tony reading"

"I called the pub on Thursday evening and booked a table for dinner at 7pm Saturday 30th July Turned up at 6.45 and barman advised us the owners/chefs had gone out for dinner so no food was being served He checked the diary for us, which I must say didn't seem to have one entry in it. We had come all the way from Southend in Essex so bad no idea were else to go. On the way back to our accomodation we spotted another pub and had a great meal. Needless to say avoid this place like the plague, so incompetent and I'm gob smacked they take a booking then go out Terrible way to run a business, no wonder there was not a soul In the place"

"Myself, my parter and his daughter attempted a visit for lunch today. Upon arrived. We chose to check in manually. This was a breach of GDPR, we were a form to take to the table with other people’s names, addresses and phone numbers on there. This was left on our table until we left. We then waited 15 minutes for someone to approach our table to collect our order, of which we ordered both drinks and food. Over half an hour later, we asked the staff where our drinks were and were told that our order had been lost, by a member of staff who chose to wear her mask over her chin. The only option we were given would be for us to re order and we would be at the back of the pile with another 30 minute wait time for the food. We chose to leave and all we got was a ‘wishy-washy’ apology, no offer of a being fast tracked for food or complimentary drinks."

"Really excited about visiting this store. Just stepped inside and a member of staff(middle aged man, slightly balding) didn’t great us or say hello but merely pointed aggressively to the hand gel for us to use. We were just about to use it, it wasn’t...as if we had walked straight past it! Baring in mind that they are renowned for their selection of fine hams I asked him if they had any sliced or if they slice the ham to order. Again he just pointed to the fridge didn’t bother explaining the different types. The meat was so tightly vacuum packed in plastic it was difficult to see what you were buying. In a fine food shop it is usual to have ham cut fresh from the joint and to the customers requirements. Saw some banana chutney that sounds interesting.. approx packed in a plastic bag (not a jar) for I think not!! How would you even access the product- squeeze it out of the plastic? Hardly top end! Perhaps the assistant had an off day, don’t we all? But working in a similar high end food store myself, I was bitterly disappointed- they seem to be trading on their past good name as far as I can see!"

"I came here for a quick lunch with a friend and her daughters. Our server, Anthony, was good. The food overall was good as well, typical of a franchise restaurant. However, when the guy brought out my plate, he didn't warn me that it was extremely hot. As he went to hand it to me, I burned my fingertips. I tried to grab it from where he was holding it, but it was still extremely hot. I'm not sure how he was able to hold it, but we ended up dropping the plate on the table because he had no holders. I informed our server about the incident, and he apologized, although it wasn't his fault. I ordered conch fritters and spinach dip for the table, but I didn't like the sauce with the fritters. For my main dish, I ordered plantain cups filled with beef, which were overall good."

"We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We were told there would be a 25-minute wait, but ended up waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for our food. When we finally received our order, it was lukewarm and missing an item. We used to enjoy dining here, but recently the owner's decision to have her teenage son handle phone calls and food orders has been a major issue. We will not be returning. The owner should consider hiring more staff and expanding the kitchen to improve efficiency. It is important for them to be more accurate with their wait times and only accept orders they can fulfill. We advise others not to trust the estimated preparation times and to double-check orders before leaving."

"I placed an order at 7pm and was told that the delivery would take 45 minutes. However, the food arrived an hour and 50 minutes later and was cold, tasteless, and disgusting. It seems like they take on too many deliveries at once and struggle to fulfill them. This used to be a delicious Chinese takeaway, but I will never order from them again. The food is low quality and overpriced for what you receive. The service was very poor."

"I thought ordering by phone would be easier to avoid waiting, but upon arrival at the restaurant, I was asked if I had ordered. I responded that I had ordered by phone and was told to wait with five other people. After waiting for well over half an hour, I noticed a rock salmon in a different section, accompanied by some dried up cod. I inquired about the fish that had been staring at me for so long, and was told it was indeed mine. This prompted others nearby to inquire about their orders as well. The fish turned out to be very dry, but the chips, while fresh, were not even cooked when we got home. I would have considered canceling the order, but it wasn't for me and would have meant waiting longer. In the end, I chose to have Indian food across the street instead."

"Amazing food! The burgers were cooked to perfection and the onion marmalade with Brie was a great topping! For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding, which was a must at this time of year. This dessert went above and beyond my expectations; I am confident that this is the best sticky toffee pudding in Suffolk! This restaurant/pub is very dog friendly as ours was treated just like any other customer. I love that the staff asked if it was okay to bring him treats over too, to which we said yes! Basil definitely wants to go back ASAP.The atmosphere here was so friendly and peaceful. We felt very relaxed and at ease. A final shout out to the staff who were attentive, polite and friendly. Also, we would like to thank the chef(s) for their immaculate food. We’ll definitely be popping back before our staycation ends!"

"We certainly won’t be eating here again. We ordered 4nr cooked breakfast of varies sizes with with varioys hot/cold drinks. Firstly, they ran out of mushrooms with no alternative to offer or reduction of cost. The breakfast then took a hefty 45 minutes to be served and to add insult to injury, when we decided or to stay for a further cup of tea we were told that we weren’t allowed to share a pot of tea for 2 i.e. one pot of earl grey one pot of English tea for four people ??!? I was astounded we were all astounded after spending over £40 here and willing to stay and spend more. It all started off very nice and all and very sour so we will not be eating here again with friends, family or otherwise."

"I visited the Maybush on a Tuesday evening to make the most of their 50% off food offer. Despite food being half price, this did not affect the quality of the food. The sea bass on the specials was the best I’ve had in a long time. My fussy children both enjoyed the Maybush stack too which was a bonus. The service was very prompt and the lady that served us was very kind. We will definitely be back soon Also the patrons only car park is free but if you park in the overflow you have to pay £2 but they refund it in the restaurant"

"We met family at The White Horse yesterday, Boxing Day. I'm so pleased we chose this venue, because the service, hospitality and the food were all amazing. We had a dog with us so were placed in their dog friendly area by the fire. They had been very busy in the daytime but we had the area to ourselves at the time we visited (4pm), which was great. We all had different meals and each one was exceptionally good. It's a rare occurrence to please everyone, but we couldn't fault a thing. Definitely will return!! Thank you to all the team! x"

"Our room (Room 2) was spacious and clean. The en suite bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The pub has character and over all our room was as expected. However, there were a few hospitality issues which marred our stay and could easily be fixed. When we checked in we asked what time the bar would be closing, as we were going to an evening performance at Snape Maltings and would be returning later and looking forward to drinks to round the evening off. We were told the bar would be open until late, so thought this would be fine. However, when we returned to the pub at approx. 9.35pm the bar had obviously just shut with a group of staff sitting around a table getting ready to leave. We asked what time the bar was supposed to shut, as it seemed quite early, and was told they shut the bar when the last customer has left. We were not offered a drink to take to our room. As we were staying in a pub with rooms we expected this service to be available for usual licensing hours. The entrance to our room was around the back of the pub and up a small flight of stairs, next the the kitchen entrance. Unfortunately the entrance lobby was cluttered with a large bag of dirty laundry for two days and a pile of clean laundry taking space on an arm chair. The single table in the lobby seemed to be being used as a staff work table and the window sill as a shelf for cleaning products. The whole lobby area gave the impression of being a trade entrance, not a welcoming space for guests to feel at ease passing through. It would be simple to tidy up this area and make it more welcoming for guests. While using the back entrance we unfortunately heard loud foul mouthed conversions from some the staff and were almost locked out when the lunch shift left for a 2 hour unmanned period at the pub. The selection of tired tea bags, packet coffee and UHT milk made for a forlorn beverage offering. However, we did ask for a jug of fresh milk and were provided with it. It would be good to offer this option for guests, as well as making the tea and coffee options more premium. For breakfast we both ordered the smashed avocado and poached egg on toast. The bread was dry/stale, toasted like a crouton with no butter or oil, the avocado was plain and the poached egg was not runny. The dish was edible so we didn’t mention it as we don’t like to see food waste in the event of being offered a replacement. There was jam and honey but no toast was offered to any table. As there are only 3 rooms to cater for it should be manageable to provide a good quality breakfast, not one that lacked finesse and was disappointing. The staff vacate the premises over night and for two hours in the afternoon, so there is no one present. There is an emergency number to call should an incident occur. We did have a comfortable, quiet sleep, so that was good. We put all these points to the member of staff when we checked out and she politely listened. She confirmed that the bar does actually close when the last customer has left, but we were customers staying in a pub with rooms and it is reasonable to expect the bar to be open until ay least 10.30 or 11 as an interpretation of ‘late’ on the signage. She said she would be feeding back all our issues to the staff team. We hope these are taken on board, as the issues are simple to remedy."

"We were visiting the McMichael Gallery and passed by this uninspiring looking BBQ place on Islington Ave north of Hwy 7. We decided to stop in for lunch since we're fans of BBQ and discovering places off the beaten path. The place inside matched its exterior, unassuming and rustic. Don't expect modern or bright decor. You go for the food and service. The young people were friendly and attentive. The wings, ribs and fries came out in quick order and were delightfully messy and tasty. Prices were very reasonable and portions were generous. The menu offers lots of BBQ choices from combos, platters, beef, pork or chicken sandwiches and even salads although that's not why you visit this place. They offer a couple dozen different sauces to suit your taste or tolerance. There's lots of parking in the back. Fairly popular with the flannel shirt crowd at lunch. They know a great value when they eat one."
