"This restaurant is a real gem. I was there recently and my experience was absolutely amazing. The service was really great. From the moment I stepped in the restaurant, I felt welcome. The staff was extremely polite and professional, always ready to help and answer questions. Didn't have to wait long to be served and the waiters were very considerate and friendly throughout. As for the food, all I can say is it was outstanding. The menu was varied and rich in a variety of flavors. Every dish I ordered was perfectly prepared and presented in an attractive way. The food was fresh and the ingredients used to prepare the dishes were of the highest quality. The restaurant also offered a wide range of drinks, including some excellent local wines that went perfectly with the meals. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very pleasant. The interior design was elegant and stylish and the music created a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and tidy, which contributed to the overall positive atmosphere. All in all, this restaurant really charmed me. Great service, excellent food and pleasant atmosphere made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique dining experience. Therefore, if you are looking for a restaurant with excellent service, great food and a friendly approach to motorcyclists, this restaurant will definitely meet your expectations. We have great satisfaction in the fact that not only did we enjoy an excellent meal and service, but also found a convenient and safe place to park our four motorbikes. This really makes this restaurant stand out from other places."

"Booked for a 70th Birthday last year and was so impressed i booked again for it this year. I write this review based on both visits to be fair to the place as they had some 'issues ' this time. Apparently they had some sort of flood so their pumps were out and only had one ale out of a on-the-bar barrel and fizzy drinks from a bottle. As only one of us was drinking alcohol and was happy with the ale, that was ok, but the other drinks were flat and warm. Previous visit though was 100%, no issues so will assume normally would be ok and we just had bad luck. The food was excellent both visits with the exception of the mushrooms in the mushroom sauce with the chicken supreme, they were really tough and i had to leave them. My only other comment on the food is that the menu hasn 't changed in that year and is maybe a little limited. The service was good. Both times there was just one person out the front, but as it 's a hotel, he was also the receptionist. Both times we visited for a 19:00 table we were the only ones in the restaurant, but the guy frequently had to leave for 10-15 minutes to deal with things in the hotel so we had to wait for ordering more drink. I dread to think how it would have been had more people been in the restaurant. The guy this time was new to the job so was a bit slow, but the previous time there was no waiting despite the man being alone. The whole building is 13th century with bits built on over the last 4-500 years. Yes, there 's a bit of scaffolding holding up a beam in the bar area, but apart from that it 's really amazing how well it 's all lasted. Last year the receptionist gave as a 'guided tour ' and was able to explain exactly what was what and from when. It 's a really interesting place, sadly we had forgotten most of it and this time the guy didn 't know quite so much, but after 4 weeks in the job, he had clearly been taught a lot. Overall, it 's maybe a little over-priced, but i 'll be back next year..."

"The service wasn't great. We had literally sat down and asked a wine list when another staff member came and ask where we ready to order. They return took our food and drink order together. Our starters arrived very quickly, before our drinks. The prawn starter was tasty but 6 tiny prawns and a bit of lettuce was not much for the price and the flavour was good. Drinks arrived as we where finishing our starters and we where asked if we could just pour the wine ourselves, which was odd but fine. Main course arrived very quickly once the starters where cleared. The service was abrupt staff arriving at the table and shouting the name of the dish. Then setting them down very awkwardly on top of cutlery, while telling the kids the plates where seriously hot. So now the kids where left to try move roasting plates! The staff seemed very rushed and under pressure. No one checked if we had everything we needed or was the food ok. Thankfully the main course was delicious monkfish curry was amazing and the beef fillet penne as really good too. Naan bread was so disappointing in comparison. Looked like it had been bought in a supermarket very cheap version and garlic butter poured over it. Not a good texture or taste. We sat with dirty plates for at least 30 mins. When the plates where cleared we where asked would we like desserts and we said no so I'll just bring the bill then? Also like great at least thats another table gone. No up selling of sides or drinks throughout the meal. The table beside us had the same experience, they gave up and got up and paid leaving dirty dishes on the table which where still there 30 mins later. The main course was amazing but the service was not good at all. Would definitely put me off returning."

"We needed a hotel within walking distance to Cambridge city centre, after trawling through the lists the Arundel House Hotel fitted the bill and seemed ideal, I called the hotel directly and spoke to Annette who explained in detail what was available by booking direct, the on site parking and full English breakfasts were what swung it for us so I booked a room for two nights. On arriving we parked our car and proceeded to reception but because we were too early we couldn't get into our room so asked the receptionist if we could get a coffee, within minutes between a pleasant and helpful receptionist and a similar young lady from the restaurant downstairs we were supplied with two welcoming cups of coffee, from then on the exceptional service from all the staff at the Arundel was without doubt flawless. We had evening meals in the hotel each night which were served in reasonable time, good choice, reasonably priced and very nice, then both mornings full english breakfasts which again were perfect with toast and plenty of continental variety too. The double room we were given was a good size with tea and coffee making facilities, and it overlooked the river and park, the room was warm and clean as was the shower/bathroom and linen, the bed was comfortable so no complaints about the room at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Arundel House Hotel and will no doubt be returning as soon as we can, hopefully bringing with us some friends."
