"Rhubarb is our go-to stopping point when visiting the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Set in the gorgeous Prestonfield House, even before you get to the beautifully decorated dining room, you are wandering around the beautifully landscaped gardens. Once inside, there is an a la carte menu of deliciousness, and during the Edinburgh Fringe, they have a three-course table d'hote menu, which never disappoints in terms of choice, value or quality. There are few restaurants we would return to time and time again, but Rhubarb is one we certainly will. "We experienced disappointing service during our recent visit. Our table wasn’t cleared properly; we still had leftover fries on it while we were enjoying dessert. The service was also extremely slow, and we had to ask multiple times for water. We've dined at this restaurant many times over the years, including twice this month, but we've noticed a significant decline in service. The prices no longer seem justified given the experience. It's unfortunate because the restaurant offers great views, but we’ve decided not to return again."

"We are from Los Angeles visiting relatives and we booked a High Tea. Initially, we were served with nice friendly service as we sat down and placed our order. After that not one server even came back to ask if we needed refill with teas or water. While the three tables around were served with three times and they are all Caucasians. We are Asians. Please tell me there is no discrimination here in UK. Even after I had to flag down a server and her mannerisms were not quite friendly. This gave me a very bad impression with a restaurant like this."

"I really enjoy coming to this restaurant. Great food that always tastes freshly cooked. Pleasant service from a team that give the family feel of an independent restaurant. You are seated appropriately depending on whether you are a couple or part of a larger group. Good wine selection. Prices are reasonable too."

"The best restaurant in and around St. john’s Wood without going into Mayfair. Id say it’s on par with or even better than the Ivy just down the road. Food is always amazing, they are great with kids, waiters exceptionally attentive and will bring you anything extra you need. For a special family meal I came here over the Ivy and everyone had a wonderful time- prices are high but that is expected for a restaurant like this and when you have fantastic food and service you don’t mind paying."

"Firstly .. the whole restaurant needs a complete overhaul .. shoddy and shabby dated decor .. the light fittings were thick with dust and grease .. sat facing mirrors .. my view dirty walls and skirting boards, dried out imitation plants and dirty velour chairs at the table facing me .. the music was loud and inappropriate for a restaurant Bare tables, no condiments. My £8 glass of wine was served in the most basic of cheap wine glasses .. water served in a glass with a straw stuck in it .. no jug for the table .. dirty shabby menus .. ordered crispy beef. .. served luke warm and not crispy.. asked the obvious crispy beef ?? to be told it’s crispy beef but not crispy as it’s their signature dish which is crispy beef but not crispy .. makes no sense .. ordered mushroom bruschetta to have a scorched wedge of ciabatta and a few mushrooms .. red pepper in the mix of the concoction with very little sauce .. the young boy who served us was very apologetic and did his best in the circumstances. To be sat in this restaurant was not only a depressing environment and experience the food is completely overpriced from what appears to be cooked by a cook .. not a chef .. for this restaurant to be trading there must be very little competition in the area for them to get away with serving what they serve in canteen surrounding .."

"We have just returned from lunch at the Woodside. We have been here a few times over the years on and off but we haven't been recently and I can't praise the place enough. The staff were attentive and friendly. We were sat on a nice table by some patio doors and didn't feel crammed in like some places. Myself and my husband had a sharing platter to start which was really good. I then had the Korean chicken skewers with triple cooked chips and the most delicious slaw/salsa I've ever had. Usually when you get chicken skewers you get pieces of chicken breast but this skewer had three delicious whole chicken thighs. The chips were hot and tasty. My husband had the steak and Merlot pie which was a proper pie (not a stew with a lid on). He really enjoyed his meal also. It wasn't cheap but I really don't mind paying if the food is good, and it was. Will be returning."

"I'm not sure what this place wants to be. It was playing club music but in the surrounding of a fine dine establishment. To be fair the steak was really nice but felt the other dishes lacked imagination they were all quite similar. Finally I just felt it was all over priced for what was on offer."

"big prizes, small portions. I went on Saturday with a group of friends in the residency. I ordered the risotto for the main, which was beautiful, was tiny, I even wondered if they had brought me an initial part until my friend reached the same size. another friend ordered a filet steak that was about the size of a satsuma! the waitress constantly sleeps the wine glasses high and emptied the bottle twice before she came to me, so we were forced to order both paints another bottle. on the table was another bottle of foam water that no one had ordered, but at the end of the night stood on the bill! the restuarant itself, atmosphere etc. is beautiful but...read more"

"Our first visit but it won't be our last. The food was good but the fishcakes should have been served with fries or potatoes. Serving them with only salad is not sufficient or value for money. Isabella was excellent as were all the staff. The person who greeted us at the door was rather subdued towards our arrival and did not create the ideal first impression. I do not want to overplay this and no one should be reprimanded but a smile sends a powerful message."

"We have been to this restaurant many times over the past three years while staying at Careys Manor and it consistently delivers an excellent product, excelling against its competitors of the Cambium Zen Garden restaurants often offering services that the other two do not ie Cocktails. "looks a nice place, almost £18 for 3 pints bierbag! ordered 1 spit roast chicken and 2 chicken, cheese ham pies. roasting small and dry pies had chicken carving in some cheese processed a small spekke of ham .over all very bad especially for the price. ticket cost were £46, when terminal presented it £56 good work I checked. where are these good reviews? it must be better! Don't waste your money."

"The food at this restaurant is amazing, with a great selection of pizzas that my kids loved. The crab linguine was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The service was top-notch, and we had a wonderful dining experience overall. I give the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect score of 5. If you're looking for a delicious meal, this place is definitely worth a visit. The price per person is between £20-30."

"I was surprised to receive a text while en route to the restaurant stating that my table, reserved for 6:30 PM, would be needed again at 8 PM. Having to finish an expensive meal in just an hour and a half is quite disappointing! Fortunately, the restaurant was quiet on Wednesday evening, with only five tables occupied. However, given these conditions, we won't be returning. When I made the reservation, there was no indication of any time limit on our table."

"We dined at the MC Cafe Bar Grill Manchester, good selection of meals. Although they have discontued the Mixed Grill that I had had on a previous visit. As it was lunch my husband had the chicken burger, which looked nice and he liked the chips. I had salmon en crout, but did not like the spinich it came with, the salmon was well cooked, it was accompanied by seasonal vegitables and new potatoes. Sevice on the slow side in fact we waited nearly an hour for our meal. But they were very busy."

"The menu explains that they are committed to sustainability and ethics, and therefore offer a vegan options for every item on their menu. A lot of effort was put into the breakfast, with homemade baked beans and hash brown, This Is bacon, mushroom, tomato, and optional wilted spinach and a black pudding that was very tasty. Cocktails and mocktails available, as well as the usual coffees and a range of different teas. Not the cheapest place at £11 for the standard breakfast £2 for each extras) but well worth the price in my opinion. We were lucky enough to get a seat when we arrived, but it was very busy so definitely make a reservation."

"On my second visit to this restaurant, I found myself cramped at a table despite requesting a specific one that remained empty. I had also asked for extra potatoes and fewer parsnips, but received the opposite - three potatoes and an overwhelming amount of parsnips. The wine was also priced much higher than expected. While these issues were eventually resolved after I complained, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service. The Sunday roast is expensive, but worth it when done properly. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it fell short of expectations due to the mishaps."

"my man and I had booked a table for 5.00 o'clock when we went to the theatre and the restaurant was too walking. this was our first visit and we were very impressed by the facility in the dining room and asked about the history behind the restaurant's facility. the maitre d was very knowledgeable and passionate and was proud to explain how the dishes were cooked etc. and explains the story regarding the beautiful picture hanging on the wall. fantastic start to the evening. eating was amazing."
