"love, love, love this place for so many reasons! friendly and helpful staff. clean and tidy and just love the quirky atmosphere. we had the huge crumb with cheese, which is simply delicious, its what we have set up! beautiful, freshly cooked...crease and tasty cheese, right on the february afternoon. but this place is so much more than a fabulous place to eat. the load to which it is attached is also only an amazing place. If they are looking for an unusual gift, it is quite possible that they find something favorable and unique here."

"Had food on the 8th of December, Had the ribs to start. Was tasty with a good portion size, it came with side salad and purple coleslaw. Not knowing the portion sizes I ordered a side order of onion rings, which were also very nice. For main, I had the 20 oz T bone steak. The steak was huge. either other places had been skimping on the steak or this place is generous, either way it was cooked to perfection. I had it with chips. The chips come on a separate bowl and the steak was accompanied with a side salad on the plate. At this point I was rather full but I pushed myself to have the desert, which i chose melted Nutella with brownie. We opted for an extra side of ice cream with it. Again the pudding was delicious. The price in my opinion was well worth it. Service was great. No long delay for food and the food was delicious. Overall a great first experience and will be back. "We went here for lunch and we sat in bar there was a small additional restaurant area but we were happy in bar. A nice selection of beers ,food was ordered from a blackboard menu,my wife had the Thai red curry my wife said it was very hot which was perfect for her ,I had the Venison and red wine stew the meat was very tender ,we both agreed both meals were very tasty and as good as we’ve had anywhere. My only small criticism was that when my wife finished her food she pushed the plate to one-side at which the barmaid ask to take it away while I was still eating and was asking me while I had a mouthful of food if we wanted desserts Would we go back YES."

"Visited for the first time yesterday with family. Warmly welcomed at the door without pre booking and seated straight away. Menu had too many delicious options, difficult to pick one so we all went for something different so we could see all our favourites and none disappointed. Staff were all friendly and the restaurant had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We will be back, hopefully next time with room for dessert."

"Possibly the best GF fish and chips I have ever had in a pub in the UK! The fish itself is huge, really fresh and with a thick golden batter. The chips are amazing and the mushy peas and tartare sauce delicious. Being gluten free this tends to be my go to so I have tried a lot, mainly in London and South and this is hands down the best. NB I originally wanted to have the roast which was listed as a GFO but the option was to remove the yorkshire pudding and the cauliflower cheese so I decided not to, but for any non GF guests, this also looked amazing my BF had this and the yorkie is huge! Also the place is not crowded so we had a really nice lunch here would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back on our next visit to the cotswolds."

"we stayed at the Inn for 6 nights and it was just wonderfull. The room was not large but sufficient. The bathroom, with excellent shower, was big enough for 2 people to use at the same time. Everything was clean and well kept. The pub was closed as from 18:00 on sunday, monday and tuesday but as there are enough other places nearby to get somethng to eat or drink this is not a big issue. On the days the pub was open we enjoyed the food and drinks in the beergarden and it was heaven. Staff was very friendly and made us feel at home. I definetely recommend the Inn if you want to visit the Cotswolds"

"This restaurant offers delicious food and excellent service. It is a great place for a dinner meal, with prices ranging from £30-£40 per person. The food is rated 4 out of 5, the service is rated 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere is rated 4 out of 5. Recommended dishes include the Burger, Halloumi and Veggie Bacon Burger, and Chips. For vegetarians, there are clearly labeled vegetarian options available, although some recommendations are only somewhat recommended."

"Excellent place to sample a variety of elevated Scottish dishes. It is small dishes tapas style and we had dishes per person which was more than enough. The venison carpaccio and scallops were excellent. Each dish is very intricate and well presented which I appreciated. The roast potatoes come as a larger portion than expected so I would only order one for a group of The ambience and service was also good and the restaurant is in a nice location, calm and not too noisy and with a view into the kitchen so you can see the dishes being prepared. One of our party had dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating to prepare some of the dishes differently Loses one star because the desserts were simply not as interesting or presented as the main dishes which was slightly disappointing. Skip dessert and go for drinks or coffees instead."

"We walked in and weren’t greeted for around 5 minutes, we then asked if we could order some breakfast at 10:45 AM, which the waitress replied ‘not sure, you only have 15 minutes’ even though the menus outside stated breakfast was served until 11:30. We then went back outside to decide what we wanted to order, and came back in and again weren’t greeted for a while, it seemed the staff were too busy wanting to chat as it was dead empty and no one else was there to be served. She then came round to the bar and took our order, I asked for a coffee and a pint of water with ice and lemon and then ordered some food. We paid and then the drinks arrived shortly outside which my coffee was then spilt all over the edge and then no water. 20 minutes later our breakfast arrived, missing half of the food and was given no cutlery which we had to then ask for. None of the staff seemed to check and ask how the food and drinks were and when giving us our drinks or food they didn’t even speak just slammed them down on the table. Very poor experience which is a shame as Marlow is such a lovely area. I would avoid this place and check out the other pubs that I’m sure have staff that are willing to serve you and not make it seem like a hassle when customers walk in. Will not be returning."
"We recently hosted my Uncle’s wake at the Horse and Chains Pub with around 35 guests in the restaurant area. The staff were amazing, very accommodating and laid-back. The pub was cozy, clean, and spacious enough for our group to socialize. The food was delicious, plentiful, hot, and a great selection, all served on time. The bar service was quick and efficient despite the crowd. The venue had everything we needed, including parking and both indoor and outdoor seating. We are glad we chose this venue and will definitely be back as locals. Vegetarian options were available and dietary restrictions were catered for. Thank you for a wonderful experience."

"The only criticism we have about this restaurant is that we were seated near the toilets, and every time someone went to the bathroom, a cold draft would hit us. Despite the presence of a screen, the cold air still managed to reach us, leaving us with cold legs, cold hands, and even icy car keys in our pockets. We brought this issue up with the manager on our way out, and they acknowledged the problem and are looking for solutions. It was probably the coldest night of the year, and the restaurant is located on a high deck. Despite the chilly experience, we still appreciated the quality of food and service, but we would recommend dressing warmly if you decide to dine here."

"Enjoyed a cracking early lunch here today 24/9 with 4 adults in our party. Plenty of free parking for guests and easily accessible from major Exeter road links. Nice cosy atmosphere where we were warmly greeted, the venue spotlessly clean. The menu was well described and didn't disapoint. We all chose individually having steaks, ribs and burgers accompanied by vegetables and salads. The food was expertly cooked presented exactly as described. Our server was we think called Stu who was attentive without being intrusive, polite and professional guided us through the food drinks menu with an obvious knowledge. We can't recommend enough and looking forward to returning enjoy an evening meal there soon in the future."

"We travel over an hour each way to eat at Nancy’s! Always worth it. Especially as Nancy plans on retiring later this year and the opportunity won’t be available anymore. As always Nancy and her beautiful daughters look after you and ensure you feel welcomed. The food is fresh and definitely has that home cooked feel, as opposed to that heavy processed feel that many similar restaurants offer. Even the background music makes you smile as it’s all familiar tunes that provoke memories. A friendly chat with the wonderful Nancy at the end of the night is the perfect finish to the meal. I can’t recommend anything over anything else as I’ve worked my way through the menu now and absolutely love everything I’ve ever eaten. But last night the beef rendang was outstanding. Please please don’t miss the chance to visit. As once it’s gone...it’s gone!"

"In view of this pub is located in rural devon, surrounded by agricultural and has a lot on the menu for the omnivorous, the quality and the range of their vegan options is very welcoming. We often serve this place and have never been disappointed with food or service. If you are a fan of desserts, you are ready to order with your starter and main, as some of the desserts are kept frozen and need time to defroze, but don't let that go, they are worth it. It is very refreshing to see something interesting as sorbet, fruit salad or vegan vanilla ice cream on the dessert menu! We were here so often, we would welcome a variety of elections, but it is all delicious, so we cannot complain! Be warned: it is a very popular pub, I would strongly recommend booking."

"We've frequented The Courthouse many times over the last 10 years. Having used them for many occasions just for drinks only, or meals with drinks and were not disappointed. We've always collected our choices, even though delivery options are fully available. So, Valentine's became our...next point-of-call. No disappointment in the menu choices. Ordering on-line was, as before, nice and easy (An account is not needed for this). Skip forwards to being called on the day, to be informed that the local road was being worked upon (highways resurfacing) but advised of the 1 minute distanced car park for convenience. I was already aware of this issue, but what service for the business to call, let you now about and offer traffic advice. All choices ordered, were ready on-the-dot. Fully cooked. Containerised separately. Marked up clearly. Service with a smile. It all helped make the Valentines day. Thanks to the Chef the Staff."

"I was there two weeks ago at lunchtime, I wanted to try something different than a pizza, so I tried a risotto with prawnen, really delicious! I could feel the taste of all the ingredients, the risotto was spiced at the right point. I had a tiramisu as dessert and it was nice, I really liked the style of dessert, in a glass with a mint leaf on top and a hauch chocolate powder. I don't want to forget to check the starter, very simple and tasty, bresaola was amazing. See you soon!"

"5 Stars??? Yes I do feel generous sometimes, unlike the teachers in high school who never wanted to shell out that extra half a mark for a spelling mistake. Let 's get back to Manhattan Grill and analyse (food reviewing is very serious business I tell ya! how and why they deserve full marks. I am more of a West London girl and I like the Victorian and Georgian buildings but the walk to Manhattan Grill, especially the pretty bridge you have to cross from Canary Wharf to reach your destination (Manhattan Grill is extremely romantic (that is the best word I could use, I promise . The external ambience of any restaurant does add to its charm. Oh did I mention that this steak house is a part of Mariott, these guys are ace when it comes to such things! I made a reservation before going and I was extremely delighted to see that the manager remembered my name without having to look at one of those black diaries. The service was a bit slow initially (it took them a while to get us water which we requested for but the overall service made up for that little jolt. I was generous to take a friend of mine along with me (nothing is worse than eating alone, I promise to try this place (did I mention that I won a voucher from this lovely site? Woohoo Zomato! and we decided to go for cocktails instead of wine, think we both had enough of wine over the weekend. While I was trying to carefully pick a cocktail from the menu and looking rather confused, the manager suggested that we had to the bar where an extremely experienced bar genius will talk us through all of them. We made our way to a very old fashioned (in a nice way looking bar called the G&T bar and as the name suggests they specialise in Gin. The bar genius, Sam made us try some lovely Gin from around the world Saffron infused Gin, Spice route Gin and a very London Gin. All of them had their own distinctive tastes I am not a neat spirit kind of girl but even I loved all of them especially the silk route or spice route gin (yeah yeah make those lame curry jokes, go on because I could taste the cinnamon, cardamom and other gorgeous spices. He made me a cocktail with that gin and added some more exciting things to it which included rosemary, chocolate and orange liquor BLISS. Before entering the restaurant I was starving but all this Gin excitement made me forget my hunger but by the time my cocktail was ready the waiter came and said : 'Madam your Steak is ready ' Perfect Timing! I went for the rib eye steak with creamy mash and red wine sauce keep it simple! My steak was perfectly cooked medium well (just the way I like and it was MASSIVE! A person with my appetite can never finish one of those, and needless to say I didn 't either! After being rather satisfied with my steak and cocktail, we ordered for a Manhattan Raspberry Cheesecake It was again simple but delicious. Perfect sweetness, I don 't like my cheesecakes to be extremely sugary and a generous crust nom nom nom. And... I am running out of stars! Verdict : Stunning location, Great service, Knowledgeable bar genius with a great moustache, Beautiful, well done meat and yummy desserts That m 'dear is a perfect dinner! I shall rest my case here. You can read more details on my blog."

"We had a table booked yesterday night and the restaurant was extremely busy. We had to wait a little bit for the table, like 15 minutes, however the manager gave us a free glass of Prosecco at the table, which was an amazing gesture. Although the restaurant was so busy, the service and food were absolutely perfect. Thank you"

"Popped in for lunch with my two dachshunds and wow, was greeted so well by Stephen behind the bar, a definite asset to the business. Came made sure the dogs had snacks water and took time to engage with all 3 of us, checking we were happy with everything. Food arrived very quickly really was first class. Had the fish gujon ciabatta with fries leafy salad. Other staff also engaged well with us. Decor is beautiful throughout the pub it genuinely feels cosy homely.Hadn't visited for many years but I highly, highly recommend this place. 5* Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Me and my partner have just been to the Miller and Carter restaurant in Leeds to celebrate our anniversary, and wanted somewhere nice enough to eat, so thought we’d try here for the first time, we were NOT disappointed. From arrival, we were made to feel very welcome by all the lovely staff, however brownie points go to a young man called Bradley, who looked after us all night! (I hope that’s his name because it was on the top of the bill, but the nice gentleman with dark hair and glasses that’s just come back to work today . He made us feel VERY welcome, from first getting in to the restaurant to leaving, and definitely made us want to return. There aren’t enough people like Bradley, he was very friendly, attentive and efficient with his service, and was always on the ball to make sure we weren’t dying of thirst. Felt like he went above and beyond for us, and deserved a good tip… and a pay rise too should I say The meal itself was lovely, and the credit goes obviously to the chefs working tonight. Everything about our evening went very smoothly, and we will love to return. Possibly the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to, and it wasn’t too expensive either, which is something we’ve always tried to consider if we’ve gone for a nice meal. Usually, we found that we could pay a lot for a meal, but would still go hungry by the end of the night. At miller and carter, we had REALLY good portion sizes (maybe a bit tooo big, but can never complain!! and we’re definitely full to the say the least, Thank you for a lovely evening!"
