"Vegan options are clearly marked and it was nice to see some inspired decisions. we were recommended to order 1 2 dishes per person and to share the vegan steak tacos, small nachos, mushroom melt and sweet potato friries. it was a nice amount of food between two people and we have actually enjoyed the dishes in the rule, although the mushroom melt a little too spicy for me I was a fairly low chili shaft. The dishes are served 'tapas style', i.e. they come out as they are ready, which was not according to my preference, but service was efficient. we had an early dinner on Sunday and it was quiet. Visited October 2021"

"The vegan options at this restaurant are great. I have tried the mushrooms on toast for brunch and they also offer vegan mac, burgers, and jackfruit stew in the evenings, all of which are delicious. Although it's not on the menu, they have dairy-free milks (almond, oat, and soy) for hot drinks. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered vegan milkshakes, made with vegan milk and ice cream topped with vegan squirty cream. These were a lovely dessert option. I would recommend this place for both daytime and evening dining."

"After some stressful and challenging days, it was my day off, finally. I decided to treat myself by going on my own for a proper meal. I put on my airy summer dress and got out of the house without makeup or having a specific destination I like to live dangerously, I know. The weather took me mentally back at home, Greece. Walking alongside riverside with the sun showering my now milk white skin (no tan for greek girls in the UK), I was getting reminded once again, how rich and beautiful this city 's architecture is. Wondering what restaurant to pick for my special day, I realized I would fancy some nice and well made burrito, so, as every self respected consumer I opened my google maps, typed burrito and filtered my list to the top rated ones. Jive was just 5 minutes away, which was quite convenient for my hungry belly. I had passed 1 million times from their door but never noticed it. You need to be looking for their floor standing sign. Walked up the stairs and ended up in an extremely atmospheric well lit room, with vintagely ruined plaster, exposed subflooring and industrial furniture. The windows were wide open, welcoming every bit of the summer weather and revealing an inspiring angle of everything that was going on outside, in the heart of Norwich, the fine city. The tables are few, for which I 'm not complaining about. After all I 'm getting more and more anti socially british as the time goes by. You don 't know me but I 'm one of those individuals who love to sit in crowded places and watch the strangers around them guessing their stories based on details. Regarding people enjoying the Jive food there, there was a big group of friends, an old couple, a new couple (probably on one of their first dates) and two men probably on an unofficial business meeting. The food was just amazing. Prices are not the best but then again, it was expected considering the position and the dine in feature. Loved every aspect of my visit. Honorable mention? The polite and helpful service."

"The pizzas here are awesome! Not much on the menu if you don't like pizza, but if you do stop here. Plenty of drink choices and an amazing view of the bay. Seating areas(s) are a little tired (as I imagine they are used A LOT) but otherwise a nice little spot to stop Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Pizza Margherita, Fries"

"I wanted to drink somewhere else near st james' quarter for my birthday, so booked the basement. she knew the place and was happy to go there. it is a Mexican theme bar, with a large menu catering for any nutritional needs; it is gf and vegetarian, I am vegan. no problem at all. we were so happy that we could both eat the churros, and oh my word, they were good! the personal is great here. very friendly and attentive. they have an extensive selection of tequilas, a great cocktail list and also mocktails that I can drive for as I can. I'll go back soon!"

"I stayed at the Dunston Hall Hotel and to be honest, the food there is not very good. I had lunch there and decided to go somewhere else for dinner. Around 6.30pm, we searched online for a few places and decided on this restaurant because it was nearby. I'm so glad we did. My mother, my two children, and I sat outside to enjoy the warm evening and because we had a stroller. The staff, two girls and a guy, were very friendly. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and presented well. We were very satisfied. Thank you so much. X"

"We have eaten here a few times over the years and enjoyed the food, particularly as a vegan. This time around not as good. Firstly as a family no kids breakfast options but they were fine with us splitting the pancakes. Secondly, only two vegan options at breakfast, neither of which an actual ‘traditional esque’ breakfast. I opted for the plant based breakfast bap which did taste nice but a little on the undercooked side. Relatively small for virtually £10. Things to improve to get back to its older best: Have more vegan and kids options for breakfast. If you’re going to charge £10 for a small breakfast bap, add a few bits on the side. Way overpriced for what you get. We will be going to the better brekkie options in the area next time."

"Our reservation was mishandled, and our table was mistakenly given away while we waited at the bar. This was frustrating, especially since we had a confirmed booking. The bar staff, however, were lovely and very efficient. Unfortunately, the table service didn’t match the same standard. We had a long wait after finally being seated before our food and drinks arrived. When it was time to settle the bill, we were charged £60 for a bottle of wine, despite our order being for a £32 bottle—quite a significant error. The table service offered little in the way of an apology for this mistake. While the venue itself is beautiful and we enjoyed an enjoyable evening with friends, the level of service was disappointing and felt lacking."

"This is by far the best and freshest food van I’ve ever been to! It was highly recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! Would totally go back to Harris just to go here for lunch. On nice days, there are wee tables to sit outside or… on not so nice days, you can go and sit in your car until the buzzer goes. The staff were so friendly and it was just a fab experience"
"in this flowering restaurant after a recommendation of a friend. had booked a table, maybe had to wait 5 minutes when the place was so busy, no problem with it. the waiting staff was pleasant and my milk incompatibility was filled with a smile and a resurrection. we ordered 3 plates according to recommended along with a few margheritas, in any case the caramelized ananas margherita and apple can recommend. one of our party courts did not arrive, but when we pointed out, it was offered to come out directly or take it out of the bill. she was full so we just canceled it. in any case a place for a fun atmosphere to go with friends. will definitely be back."

"The gastronomic delight that is Lima restaurant offers a pleasant experience and an interesting experience to Peruvian cuisine. Its decor had a tasteful ambiance that is neither over the top nor too muted. Our culinary journey at Lima started with a classic Ceviche an embodiment of freshness, vibrant in flavor. However, for those accustomed to the traditional Peruvian kick, it might need a tad more salt and a generous addition of aji (chilli) to satisfy your palate. The Octopus Crab Causa was another delightful dish. The perfect combination of sea flavors, together with the well seasoned potato, added a beautiful depth to the dish. But, the real winner amongst the appetizers was the Croquetas de Ají de Gallina an absolute triumph that is bound to make you want more. For the main course, we chose the Beef Filet Saltado (Lomo Saltado) which came with rice. The beef was beautifully tender, with a melody of flavors playing in each bite, all harmonized beautifully with the rich jus. Unfortunately, the dessert didn't live up to the high standard set by the preceding dishes. We had the Tres Leches, which it's a dessert that tends to be a crowd pleaser but was somewhat forgettable in this setting. The dining experience at Lima was overall very satisfying. Although it might lean a bit towards the expensive side, it was expected and feels justified for the quality of the food and the nice ambiance. Lima certainly strives to maintain the authenticity of Peruvian cuisine while adapting some variations for the British public. In summary, Lima restaurant is an excellent choice for a unique dining experience that takes you on a culinary journey to Peru without leaving the heart of London. I am already looking forward to my next visit."

"The courtyard and view at this restaurant are nice, and the waitress Freya was very pleasant. However, the Mexican food here is possibly the worst I have ever tasted. It was awful and tasteless. Additionally, you have to pay £1 for a small amount of salsa that is also tasteless. We ordered four tacos (chicken, pork, beef, and aubergine), a prawn salad, an orange salad, and another meal that I cannot remember. All of the food was disgusting. There are many good restaurants in Edinburgh, so I would recommend avoiding this one. Both of us felt sick after eating here, and if I had the energy, I would have asked to speak to the manager about how bad the food was."

"A couple of Saturdays back we were off to see our first fringe show, the brilliant Jimeoin (I thought his what seemed to be mostly unscripted chaotic stand up routine was hilarious and would definitely recommend you go see him) . With some time to kill before the show we decided to stop off at The Safari Lounge for a beer and a quick bite to eat. The only reason I even knew of The Safari Lounge was thanks to some free beer tokens I had received a couple of weeks previous from Heverlee, which specified it as one of the bars participating in the offer. The Safari Lounge is situated in Abbeyhill, just a couple of minutes walk from the top of Easter Road so didn’t take us long to walk."

"Absolute filth, the place need a deep deep clean. I've worked in hospitality for years and my husband is a chef, it always baffles me when the tables and chairs are dirty. What the kitchen must be like if the staff can't clean a chair. Food wasn't great. Spent £30 and I think I could have got better at a bacon buttie van in a lay-by. And 1 toilet for men and women, how is this ok?? I don't want take my daughter to toilet after a man has had his stinking in there. Cakes looked amazing if this helps, although we didn't buy one and won't return"

"The staff at this restaurant are very knowledgeable about cross-contamination but do not have a separate kitchen. I made it clear that I have an allergy (Celiac) and was informed that there is no 100% guarantee of avoiding contamination without a separate kitchen. The menu includes a section for gluten-free options and another for "Milder Gluten Sensitivities", but I would advise those with Celiac disease to avoid ordering from the latter. Despite being an extremely sensitive celiac, I ordered a rainbow bowl which seemed to be the safest option and felt fine after eating. It is important to be cautious when ordering and I also took a gluteguard tablet before my meal, which may have helped."

"I am extremely frustrated with this restaurant. I made a reservation for a bottomless lunch two weeks in advance, only to receive a text just a few hours before my reservation saying they could no longer accommodate food bookings for that day because the chef was ill. It's clear they don't have a backup plan for situations like this. I would never book here again, as they are not reliable."

"The style of service here really let it down for us. The food was quite good we tried the tacos (chicken was nice, fish ok), salad with chicken (average) and guacamole (very good) and it was filling and ok for the price. But it’s a self service restaurant where you have to get your own cutlery, sauces and drinks, and place your orders online. This means you have to create an account, which takes time, and the menu if you have any dietary requirements is not easy to navigate. I asked one of the staff a question and felt like I was being a huge inconvenience to him. For this reason we wouldn’t go back. There was also a strong smell of bleach where we were sat, which put me off my food."
"Visit from April 2022... We revisited this branch as we had a gift card, the waiter remembered us from last time when we mentioned about our allergies. The waiter was really nice but I felt sorry for him as everyone was asking him to take their orders and he was the only staff member present on the floor. The food was very enjoyable, we ordered 2 Chicken Quasadilla, 2 Mushroom Quasadillas, 2 Sweet Potato portions and Califlower Wings. We were able to ask for our mayo to be out of our meals and on the sides instead which was great as we could are it as we wished. It took a long long time to ask for a dessert afterwards, we had to keep trying to get the attention of someone to serve us which took around 20-30 minutes. At the end we were trying to scan the QR code (like my previous review below the QR code does not work! We tried on three different devices and over three different tables QR! The receipt shows a surcharge which you can ask for it to be taken off, it would be great for the QR code to work as then you feel like you can take it off if you felt like it wasn't an enjoyable experience, we took the gift card to the till and it took around 30 minutes to sort out! Ridiculous. The staff member was apologetic but it caused us to miss out train, it should be much easier to use a gift card. Think that's the last time we will visit here as the ending has become too stressful. Visit from Feb 2022 ... First time visiting a Wahaca Branch. Staff were very friendly and they asked regarding allergies which is very important. Lots of Vegetarian options which is brilliant, we ordered the Mushroom Club, Chicken Club, Patatas Bravas and a Halloumi and Pineapple Taco which was free. The Freebie was very very cold, it felt like because it was free they didn't care how it was presented? The Patatas Bravas were luke warm. The rest of the food was really nice especially the Mushroom Club which I would have again. We were going to order two lots of Patatas Bravas but we're adviced just to buy one because of the size.... We wish we had bought two lots as there wasn't enough to share one portion. Ordered through person but had to pay through QR code which didn't work, so waiter had to do it on their phone which made us feel uncomfortable and stupid... Personally either order through an app and pay at the time or just order through a person and pay through a person, don't do a mixture. Restaurant was clean and toilets were nice and clean which I always check. Knocked a star off for the cold/Luke warm portions of our meal and also the QR system not working correctly (Side Note: I have paid via QR codes before so know how they work so I am experienced with them so think many people will struggle to pay like this."

"We booked a table for Saturday tea time for 7 people, and the booking stated that one of the guests would be an 18 month old which would need a high chair. We went to the bar to tell them we were here for a booking and when we shown our table we were seated at one of the two high tables in the whole place. There was no high chair set at the table, so I asked for this and they brought the usual wooden pub highchair over, but if my daughter sat at this at the table her head would be under the table, how were we supposed to have a meal with her like this? We asked if we could be moved to a low table, which there was a large one to seat all 7 of us at where there was one man having a beer, and the next booking for that table was 2 hours later, so we would be gone before the next booking. The bar staff said that he couldn't ask the man to swap tables, unsure why, and the only solutions he had was for us to sit at a table for 4 (way too small and cramped for our party size) or for him to swap one of the high tables for a low table, so we opted for this. However, because the high tables were up against a bench seat it then meant that my husband had to be wedged in behind the table so that there was enough space for me to sit down and not be bumping in to the table behind me. It also meant that we couldn't really speak with the other members of our party as they were sat a good foot above us. Safe to say, I will not be recommending to any of my friends, especially ones with children, and we will look for an alternative next time we visit the area."
