"This is based on a one time honest experience: Place was inviting and service was good and quick, but then again it wasn't busy at all. Food was good and bad. Ill elaborate: The person i was with had a stone baked pizza and it was amazing, no questions there. I had pasta Carbonara and then pasta Bolognese to see if it was any better. The carbonara was not good at all, the sauce was so little i was tasting the dough from which the spaghetti was made. It made the spaghetti dry and bad tasting. The Bolognese was good as far as taste goes, but there was something very odd. The sauce was very fat, as a matter of fact, it was so fat, it was sticking to the plate and fork like fine coating. Ive only ever seen this when cooking lamb(i cook). Obviously its not from the beef itself, its fat that was added to the sauce/meat mixture itself. I thought it was perhaps butter(or fat milk), but the consistency of the sauce wasnt thick and velvety, so i doubt it. Was probably animal fat. Ofc i might be wrong. In any case, the 25g of fat per serving of pasta Bolognese is probably wrong. As for pricing, id happily pay the price for the pizza, it was awesome! But the pasta, for what it is, was too expensive. I can say about the rest of the mains, but avoid the pasta if you can and grab yourself a tasty pizza"

"Service was great! Drinks were lovely. Friend and I shared the Crispy Fried Mozzarella and the Garlic Bread with Balsamic Onions Mozzarella. Mozzarella was ok but the garlic bread was so good. Both large enough portions to share. For my main I had the Chicken, Prosciutto Sage Saltimbocca. Unfortunately, this was awful. It was like something you 'd eat on a restricted diet in the hospital. Very plain and little to no taste. Two friends at my table said they tried the dish before. One described the sauce as dirty dish water This was quite accurate. I finished with the Tiramisu which was absolutely amazing. Again, shareable but so good I didn 't! I was with a large table, a variety of dishes were served burgers, pasta, fish, calzone, and pizza. Overall everyone seemed quite pleased. Again, service was excellent and I 'll be back to try another main."

"I haven’t been to the Golden Hind for a couple of years. It’s still great fish and chips. The menu is much larger, so it’s not quite the local chippy anymore. However, my vegetarian friend loved the non-fish menu and had the deep fried mozzarella. The prices have increased a lot, but fish is more expensive everywhere. Service was friendly and helpful."

"visits with a buy a gift voucher, which allows us to make two three meals from a set menu. we waited 5 minutes or so on a Sunday night when there were no more than 10 people in the restaurant. we also needed a gluten-free version of the set menu, which meant that we had to use the website to crossmatch what was included in the set menu to see what was gf. we had to order via the website. we asked a server about ordering gluten free and they had no idea how we should do that. the food was excellent and the portions were generous for a set menu. the main issue came with the bill. we presented the voucher and we were then notified to the voucher only a set menu. not what the credit card said and we were asked to pay the rest. the server came back a few times to ask us to pay and then talked to a colleague. they have worked out that the order by the website, coupled with the gluten free options not considered, it was a set menu order. it would have been better if the personal used the old-fashioned ordering method that tends to work better. especially in the nutritional requirements. it was solved, but we were made to feel like we were wrong. my advice would be if they have a good license, ask to order personally to avoid frustration. the food was excellent."

"Decided last minute after the cinema to go to Prezzo for dinner -just myself and my daughter They had plenty of tables although you would have thought I’d rocked up at about mins before closing with a party of ten by the surly eye...roll I got from the waitress. The chicken pasta dish I ordered had a fairly large (perhaps an inch long) chicken bone in it which I didn’t notice until it was in my mouth. I discretely told the waitress to be told, that it’s to be expected as chicken has bones. I’m aware chicken has bones and cows do too but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t expect to find bones in a spag Bol either!! Again more rolling eyes but (despite the fact they didn’t bring round Parmesan or the pepper grinder which is half the fun of eating out in an Italian) the food tasted good so I let that pass. Then I ordered tiramisu and it came frozen .. I’d handed back my menu so wasn’t sure if I’d missed something maybe this was a special sort of ice-cream tiramisu I ate it so as not to be fussy and it tasted ok but it wasn’t that great ?? When the waiter collected the plates I asked if I’d missed something and was it supposed to be frozen he looked blank and after about ten mins the surly girl comes over with the bill and did apologise (it wasn’t the most heartfelt apology) and removed the tiramisu from the bill as though she was doing some huge favour errrrrr I have just eaten Un-defrosted cream !!! I at this point decided to make no fuss just cut my losses and make a note not to eat there again- and not to tip. Sad really as the food tasted ok but the staff didn’t look like they wanted to be there and these little touches meant that I won’t go back."

"I came here with my daughter last Thursday. We were attending a funeral the next day and she had had a long flight from USA. I had driven for 5 hours. We wanted a quick dinner and an early night so I booked for 6pm. The restaurant was practically empty a good sign we thought. The waitress took our orders and our wines came out quite quickly. Our shared starter of one meagre cheesy garlic bread was very disappointing for the price. The restaurant began to fill up quickly and by 7pm was almost full. There were several large parties which we noticed were being served very quickly. We were NOT! We called the waitress over about 7:15 an hour and 15 minutes from when we ordered and we pointed out that while we were still awaiting our meals others had already been served. She assured us we were next. NO! We called her over again only for the same response. We eventually got our meals at 7:30pm! An hour and a half for 2 pizzas quite ridiculous! Not even worth waiting for too soggy and undercooked in the middle. We both left at least half. Nobody responded to our request for the bill so we put our coats on and headed for the door. Needless to say our waitress magically appeared and had the audacity to ask why we were in such a hurry as we had been here for only 2 hours!! Won't be returning."

"We went for my birthday and wedding anniversary, which are the same day and on the night we went. At the time of booking I mentioned we were celebrating these.The lady on the phone told me she would set the table nice for us. The table was not set. We had starters which were just warm and then the main meal. Well what can I say about the lasagna. This was a bowl of mince meat with a quarter of a sheet of lasagna that look liked it been dropped and scraped back in. Again hardly warm. At no point did any one pop back to see if the meals were going well or if we wanted another drink. We had to keep getting their attention. We had to ask for clean cutlery after our starters. The whole experience from start to finish was appalling. My Daughter paid the bill whilst I went to the toilet as a surprise for myself and my Husband. The toilets were so dirty. When I asked to speak with the manager they were very dismissive. No responsibility was taken on their part for this appalling food and service. They spoilt our celebration."

"For our main courses, I chose the Asparagus and Mascarpone Panciotti filled pasta, which was absolutely delicious! It tasted fresh and light, with a perfect blend of flavors—ideal for this time of year. The portion was not huge, but just right and quite satisfying. My mother ordered the Pappardelle Gorgonzola pasta with chicken, pancetta, and vegetables. The portion was enormous, and she could only finish half, but she loved every bite and described it as delicious. Even though we were quite full, we made room for dessert and opted for the honeycomb cheesecake. It was creamier than I prefer—I tend to like denser cheesecakes—but it was still lovely, and I would likely order it again. They do have an impressive selection of desserts to choose from! When our waitress brought the bill, she inquired if we had a discount voucher. We didn’t have one, but it seemed that many tables around us did. So if you're planning to visit, be sure to look out for discount vouchers!"

"What a lovely restaurant! We received a warm welcome upon entering and decided to enjoy a quick drink at the bar while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. "I particularly liked the separate no dog area upstairs, as I understand that not everyone is comfortable around dogs. During this visit, we sat outside in the sun, enjoying drinks and playing cards in the afternoon. Later, we moved inside for dinner. We enjoyed the relaxed and social atmosphere, and appreciated that the staff did not rush us to leave our table. Many others were also enjoying drinks in the beer garden without ordering food. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. There was a variety of seating options, including benches and tables outside with electric heaters, as well as some sofa seating inside. The food was excellent; we started with the bar nibbles (3 for £16) in the afternoon, followed by a special seafood dish and the steak pie. Everything was delicious and we could not fault it. We would definitely recommend The Old Gate, as it caters to everyone."

Everything was Cooked Fresh and Tasted Fantastic Bruschetta was Excellent! I have No Complaints on the Food, It is Delicous. It is Not the Best I have Experienced but it is the Best in Boston. Both The starters and the Mains came to Our table rather Quickly which was Brilliant, The Desert took just over 20 Minutes. The Staff also had Superb service, Extremely polite, friendly and Truly Dedicated in making your Experience as Pleasant as Possible. Aside from the Slight mishap With the Wine The waitress seemed very Nervous on that Night Bless her, It was very busy She helped clean us Up after and Still kept her Professionalism!
