"a return visit for us after some time. Please tell them that the experience, atmosphere, eating and service were as good as ever, that is, excellent. a friendly reception, interesting menu and beautiful Italian feel, the decor. we had appetizers and...main courses from the fixed price, two course lunch menu, our most important courses are chicken risotto and penne with a creamy huh and mushroom sauce, both absolutely excellent. together with a large glass of the excellent house white and a great espresso, our overall bill was about excellent value for money and a truly authentic Italian culinary experience. we're coming back."

Chanced upon this place as the Hotel we were staying in had a limited menu, And what a great find, Welcoming warm and friendly with exeptionally well prepared and very tasty food,. Prices are what you would expect for this quality and nothing seemed to...be too much trouble for the staff We will certainly return on our next visit to Salisbury View menu

Watery zero flavour spaghetti bolognaise which for an Italian restaurant is unforgivable. If you can’t be bothered to cook it then don’t bother and be a pizzeria. Lasagne was also mediocre. Montepulciano was poorest I’ve ever tasted so not convincing. Used to be so good...when it started, if you have to go then maybe order pizza. Such a shame and clearly they just no longer care.

Came here for lunch and ordered off the set menu which was great value courses for The pizzas were enjoyable and fresh, and the portions were generous. There was also a lot of choice on the main menu. Only negatives were that a...lot of the starters contain meat (including the Arancini and fried mozzarella) which limits the vegetarian options. Also, the fried mozzarella was a little over cooked. Pretty good lunch overall. View menu

We went for dinner on Friday evening. The service was excellent. The food was delicious- very good choice including fish options. Good range of starters, pasta, pizza, meat, fish vegetarian options. The portions sizes were very decent unlike many other places these days ..inc. the chicken and fish choices. They were not in a rush to get rid of us either. We were very impressed with the prawns seabass. Everyone was very happy. Thank you!

We made a reservation for dinner to celebrate our son's birthday and graduation from Sarum College, and we definitely chose the right restaurant. The staff greeted us warmly, the food was piping hot and wonderfully fresh with authentic Italian flavors, there was a great selection of wine, and the service was excellent. It all made for a fantastic evening. The owner even went out of their way to display banners and balloons for us, which was a really nice touch. Many thanks to everyone who ensured that our evening was so wonderful.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
