"I went to this restaurant for my dad's birthday celebration, but I was highly disappointed. The staff was unprofessional, the food was served cold, and when we asked for a replacement dish, they simply reheated the same one and brought it back. Despite requesting a cake in advance and reminding them multiple times on the day, they forgot to bring it out. I will not be returning to this restaurant again in the future."

"Favourite place for lunch when visiting my mum. Feels just like Turkey with authentic flavours, and flamboyant staff; some of the food exceeded what I ate in really good restaurants in Turkey 1 month ago whilst on holiday there. Ask for WiFi as there is no phone reception as the restaurant is built into the base of the Hastings rock and caves. Totally recommended. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"The experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. We were seated at a table and ordered drinks, but when the waitress returned to take our food order, she failed to mention that they were out of toast, pancakes, and salted pork meat. We ended up ordering items that they also did not have. Instead of informing us that they were out of stock, they simply left us hanging, assuming we would not notice. Our drinks were served at some point, but the coffee came in a small glass without a handle, so we had to wait for it to cool down before we could drink it. It is unclear if they even have proper mugs. I would not recommend this place and will not be returning."

"We spent a day in the remote town of Portree, Skye and decided to have dinner at Isles Inn around 6:30pm. It was the only place that didn't require a reservation. The inn has a restaurant and a bar, and we had found the bar to be friendly with polite staff and a good drink selection earlier in the day. Despite being full at 6:30pm, the staff managed to find us a table in a corner. We ordered fish and chips, as well as a skewered beefburger with tomato, pickle, and chips. The food was delicious, especially the beefburger. The fish was a fresh, high-quality fillet with a generous batter. The service was excellent and we left a good tip. After finishing our meal, we went back to the bar for a pleasant evening where French seemed to be the most commonly spoken language at this remote location."

"Google maps said this place was open 10-4 today so I went for it. At 10:30 the proprietor was taking chairs off the tables as if opening! I asked are you open? and he said no, it says open weekends 10-4 (I paraphrase) and pointed to a sign on the door, which does indeed say Open weekends 10-4 . I then asked, oh, not during the week then? and he didn 't look up and carried on cleaning tables, presumably in preparation for tomorrow morning 's business! The sign itself may be accurate but does not necessarily imply that the café is not open at all during the week. I left frankly feeling deflated and slightly embarrassed after having been spoken to in such a patronising and rude way. It doesn 't bode well for the dining experience for the few who turn up on the right day!"

"Massive disappointment.. looked awesome in the window and when It eventually arrived. Took 15 mins to receive order (maybe making new sauce 2 pieces of the thinnest ham bacon on a slab of soughdough. Absolutely no taste throughout. if I closed my eyes I would have had no idea what I was eating. Top slice of bread toasted on both sides, then cheap bacon on the smallest spread of white sauce (or was it mayonnaise? to dampen the bottom slice. Broke it apart and ate top slice only.. I've no idea what ir was missing.. buy it was missing a LOT Hated it tbh.. and I wanted to love it"

"I dined at this restaurant with my child. It was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. Unfortunately, they did not have a child menu. They do offer a "small burger" option, but I didn't think it was the same. The burgers come with double patties and the toppings are customizable, which is a great feature. We also ordered chips, which were on the pricier side but were a good portion size and tasted great. The milkshakes were also delicious, but at around £5 each, I would expect them to be top-notch at that price."

"Went in about 8pm on a Saturday night, the menus were still on the tables. We waited to be seated and asked if they were still serving food. There were plenty of tables to choose from so a took a nice seat by the window. We were left with the menus, there are enough items on it but I guess some things are a little bit dull. When we came to make our order we were informed there were no mushrooms to that meant the katsu curry was off. We said we would think again and when we came to make the order other items were also off the menu. There was not much choice so I went for the hot dog (one of the dull options). Although it was described as coming with fried onions. It was just a plain hot dog in a brioche bun with a mayo thinly lined over the top and a plate of thin cut chips. We were asked if we wanted sauce. It did seem like a way to liven it up a little. We were delivered a ramakin of packets of Heinz ketchup and mayo. Nothing was awful but it's really nothing better that if we went for fast food like a MacDonald's. It's a nice venue and the beer is good, if a bit expensive at £6 a pint for a session IPA. I don't want to do the place down but I'd just say it's better to close or at least tell customers that the menu is depleted before they sit down and order drinks."

"I first discovered Greensmith's, not long after they opened, on a bitterly cold early Spring day. Their attractive frontage caught my eye, but the interior is just as pleasant. The service is always friendly, the Northwoods coffee good, and they do some excellent cakes, some of which are vegan. The food menu is fairly short, but I have had some nice soups here. However, I was unimpressed with the mushroom on toast I had on my most recent visit. There was no mention of rocket being part of this dish, and while I am in no way averse to rocket, the dish arrived, completely covered in the stuff. I took a bite, but couldn't taste the mushrooms, so I decided to remove some of the rocket. As I began to do so, I couldn't find any mushrooms, so I kept on until all the rocket was on the side of the plate. You can see what this revealed from my photo, 2 dry-tasting pieces of sourdough, with barely any mushrooms. They are just common or garden mushrooms, not truffles, couldn't I have a few more for £6.50 please?"

"I am ashamed to state that after 12 years passing by , as I noticed this pub had changed hands many times , I booked a meal for two last Saturday evening and I was so happily surprised! The pub is so cosy in half light and just such a kind and warming place. The staff are fantastic and the food equally fantastic. I had thought , ok, pub food but it was all natural and home cooked. You can take your dog too! There was a man singing which added to the ambience. What a great place and that will teach me for not stopping by before ! Don’t judge a book by its cover! The Monkland Arms is a fantastic place to eat and to chill with friends! Well done to you !"

"Really nice food! Everything was tasty especially the octopus and the baked feta. I recommend booking a table in advance too. Staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. It is tapas style so the food comes out when it’s ready rather than all at once at the same time."

"Went there three times on a three day visit! It was THAT good! The full Scottish breakfast was great (had never heard of Lorna sausage before it was delicious! , as was the French toast with maple syrup and bacon. For main courses we had the seared tuna, the gambas, the chicken with chimichurri and the scallops with parmesan risotto and as a side we got the garlic bread with cheese. We also tried the Whisky Cranachan for dessert yummy! They were all amazing! I wholeheartedly recommend and will definitely be back the next time I'm on Islay!"

"From the moment we walked in and effortlessly placed our order, the experience at The Book Cafe was off to a great start. The tables were pristine, and the warm welcome added to the inviting atmosphere. Opting for breakfast, I chose the small veggie breakfast without eggs. A considerate waitress offered an alternative to replace the egg, a thoughtful gesture that was truly appreciated. The drinks promptly arrived, and the pumpkin spiced latte I selected was an absolute delight. Meanwhile, my husband thoroughly enjoyed the generously portioned pancakes with a delectable berry compote. A lovely surprise occurred when I headed to the restroom, and a staff member went out of their way to compliment my Halloween hoodie, adding an extra touch of warmth to the atmosphere. The café 's ambiance was perfect, hosting a diverse mix of patrons, from friends celebrating birthdays to families with young children and individuals enjoying their own quiet moments. Our experience was so satisfying that we 're certain to return. The welcoming atmosphere makes it an ideal spot even for solo dining. Highly recommended for a splendid dining experience at The Book Cafe in Derby."
"I was initially hesitant about trying 5 Guys in London, but I was pleasantly surprised by how perfect the burger and fries were! The decor was also great. The main floor was crowded, but there was plenty of space downstairs."

"gluten free risotto to be here! and they even have it tailored (which meant that they cook it fresh, it was 't stewing in a pot) which was great. I had the mushroom spinat pasta, which was delicious, and of course was nabeby the gf Risotto food! it was jumbo garnel and they were really. I liked the cordial fizz (raspberry flavored) not as sweet as a soft drink, but refreshing. the place was busy on a Saturday night, so it was a bit slow to get out, but it wasn't so long. in any case on that could list again."

"If one goes to eat somewhere with a French name it is not unreasonable to expect it to be largely french. We had a Korean sommelier who was abrupt and hardly spoke to us . We were with some French speaking guests and we were at least assigned an excellent French speaking waiter from Nice. This made the difference in our overall experience. The food was good , although the toast with the salmon starter was burnt. The French fries with the main were over salted and inedible. Are you trying to be a French Brasserie or are you pretending? If you are a Brasserie then charge Brasserie prices and not restaurant prices and get a French sommelier if you think a Brasserie needs one!!! As a Mayfair restaurant the owners would do well to look at the entrance . The awning is discoloured and looking very dirty and tired. Overall the staff were polite and attentive."

"Beautiful building, comfortable good bar staff and waitress 's. But lacking in fine details.... Table that was allocated to us was sticky from what turned out to be poor varnish. Management knew about it BUT still put paying customers onto a table that they stuck to, damaging clothing and spoiling a special night. Management need to spend time with staff, showing how to serve a guest. Customer service is dying in this industry and it is one thing that will save and help expand a business. The food quality was OK, but the chef wanted to present a picture on a plate before ensuring the ingredients where cooked and flavoured well. Nice evening but could be Oh so better Service: 3 Location: 4"
