Toasty bread with melted cheese, a classic comfort.

"I was late for a brunch. I spoke in front of the phone and said no worries. arrived and the place was still quite quiet. said there would be a minute to order food as they were still in the kitchen rushing, mins after opening. So if we had arrived in time, it would have to wait half an hour. they could have told us on the phone, but not. we have gone and found somewhere else to eat they have chosen fair for eating and value ratings as I need to choose something, but obviously don't really know how we haven't eaten there, but the choice either poor or good would have been misleading."

"small and comfortable caffe with friendly and competent staff. on the menu there are a few vegan options: avocado on toast (with or without feta) and a falafel dish with salat. I had the avo on toast, which was lemony and a bit spicy and altogether delicious. the staff offered to include additional cheeks because I asked not to have the feta. I also had a banana and blue aeration that was filled, delicious and exactly what I needed after the ilkley half marathon. updated by previous review on 2021-07-12 updated by previous review on 2021-07-12"

"On there Web site, a request to put in an order in advance for pizza orders. One of us is Coeliac so ensured we complied, and to ensure no mixup. Called in the order 6 1/2 hours ahead of collection. Told this would be okay and to collect the pizzas at 18:30. Arrived 18:20 , surprise, surprise, order wasn't in the system. Then some nonsense about the person who took the order That morning) was off sick and hadn't passed it on, or put it in the system. If I waited, hopefully it could be sorted out. Asking how long ? couldn't guarantee a time as there were already a few orders in. Just left, what a disappointment. Won't be back"

"We have had a drink a couple of times when we have visited Manchester and decided to try Sunday lunch last weekend. We were not disappointed! Two beautifully cooked roast beef dinners with an extra side of cauliflower cheese (not needed meals were more than enough, but we struggled through! Fantastic service from Carys, very friendly and efficient, just what a waitress should be (I’ve been one! Highly recommend"

"We spent a day in the remote town of Portree, Skye and decided to have dinner at Isles Inn around 6:30pm. It was the only place that didn't require a reservation. The inn has a restaurant and a bar, and we had found the bar to be friendly with polite staff and a good drink selection earlier in the day. Despite being full at 6:30pm, the staff managed to find us a table in a corner. We ordered fish and chips, as well as a skewered beefburger with tomato, pickle, and chips. The food was delicious, especially the beefburger. The fish was a fresh, high-quality fillet with a generous batter. The service was excellent and we left a good tip. After finishing our meal, we went back to the bar for a pleasant evening where French seemed to be the most commonly spoken language at this remote location."

"Best place to eat in Inverness by far! We spent a week exploring the beautiful city of Inverness and were so pleased to have discovered this gorgeous cosy bistro! Richard is a kind and friendly owner who really takes an interest in his customers. The rest of the staff are charming and hospitable. The food is on a league of its own and the portion sizes are very generous! We definitely recommend the haggis bon bons and goats cheese tartlet! Absolutely delicious! We can't wait to come back! Thank you for a lovely evening!"

"Came here earlier with my friend. There was no queue, the people working there was nice. HOWEVER if you are a student and want something cheap, this is not the place. I offered to pay for my friend since it was her birthday and for the two of us it came to £38 (rip debit card). The food was so nice, the burger was a bit dry but that’s due to me not asking for ketchup in my burger. It was really nice and there was a calming atmosphere, will probably be back next month xd"

"This restaurant is absolutely amazing in every aspect - from the food to the service to the atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the crab and prawn linguine, as it is truly a masterpiece. The veal milanese is also a must-try dish. The price range is around £10-20 per person for dinner. Overall, I give the food a 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 5. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!"

"Having been here many times I was very excited to be sharing a meal with far travelled friends. The experience was far from memorable other than poor. Previously warmly welcomed with the best Mac n cheese ever, I stupidly tried to re-enact my perfect evening but the dish was served in a small ramekin bowl with burnt breadcrumbs on top, tasteless, unseasoned and certainly lacked cheese flavour, gone in four fork fulls, not large fork fulls I may add… clearly chef change to a bad one! We asked to order more drinks towards the end of the meal and were refused and asked to vacate, sad as this was my favourite bar in Fort A. The Bothy however seemed to make up for it, friendly service, best Cullen Skink ever and great atmosphere. Shame on you Lock Inn."

"Really nice food! Everything was tasty especially the octopus and the baked feta. I recommend booking a table in advance too. Staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. It is tapas style so the food comes out when it’s ready rather than all at once at the same time."

"This is probably my tenth visit to this fantastic restaurant in the last six months, and my experience gets better every time. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The food is always excellent—it's just like home to me as an American. I traveled over an hour to get here, and it’s definitely worth it. While it may be on the pricier side, the high-quality food and exceptional service make it a great value. The dining area is always clean, and the restrooms are well-maintained. Plus, there's a soda machine with over 100 different combinations—you can’t go wrong with my favorite, Dr. Pepper! I highly recommend this place for delicious food and consistently fast, friendly service on every visit. Oh, and the portion sizes are huge! A regular size could easily feed two people, and definitely make sure to order the fries—they're amazing! The burgers are also fantastic!"

"As a former senior manager for a hotel chain I am well placed to make objective comments. Whereas the Cliftonville used to be a warm friendly environment it has been replaced by a cold, uninviting layout. Totally lacking in atmosphere and what was once a haven of good food is now a shadow of its former self. Our food was slow on service, served on cold plates, and minimal in size. One has to question the calibre of management and the overall awareness of the owning company who clearly do not have a good understanding of customers needs. Like all the other numerous negative reviews I suspect this one will meet with the useful ineffective platitudes and excuses instead of facing up to the reality by actually doing something to resolve what is clearly an ongoing pattern of negativity and failure. Coming from a hotel chain where customer service was paramount it saddens me to witness avoidable failure We will not be back as there are other nearby venues that far exceed the drops that is the Cliftonville. It really saddens me to have to comment like this yet reality has to be faced"

"I booked in advance to get a good table and still think that this is the best Mexican food in Brighton but the service was SO bad this time. We won’t be going back. We arrived and our table wasn’t ready we had to ask to sit somewhere else to wait and the staff member was clearly unhappy with that We ordered drinks and food and even though our table had cleared were told to stay put squashed uncomfortably on a four person table with a buggy rammed in beside us. I’d understand if we were walk ins. The staff member -I think the owner- was very stressed and busy but made no effort to apologise or acknowledge his gruffness. We all felt uncomfortable with his attitude and it ruined the dining experience. Shame, it was our favourite restaurant."

"This restaurant serves the best burgers you'll ever have, freshly cooked to order exactly how you want them. The Cajun Fries are a must-try, and the portions are large enough to share. The milkshakes are fantastic as well. While it may be a bit pricey (with burgers, fries, and a shake costing just under £20), the quality of the food is well worth it. Overall, this is a great place to enjoy a high-quality meal."

"Stopped off here for lunch on way home to Scotland, having good memories of this cafe from a visit several years ago. We were glad to find that it was still open and serving a wide variety of meal and snack options including lots of gluten free choices which pleased my husband who has coeliac disease. Fresh home-made food at excellent prices, and licensed too!"

"Great place. Lovely food. But 1 member of staff (lady with dark hair, front of house) made me feel very unwelcome. She seemed irritated by me just being there. I was polite and was unsure of the set up. Where to get take out etc. It was busy, and I was clearly getting on her nerves. But she was great with all the regulars. She definitely put me off returning Meal type: Breakfast"

"Favourite place for lunch when visiting my mum. Feels just like Turkey with authentic flavours, and flamboyant staff; some of the food exceeded what I ate in really good restaurants in Turkey 1 month ago whilst on holiday there. Ask for WiFi as there is no phone reception as the restaurant is built into the base of the Hastings rock and caves. Totally recommended. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"almost. to my time of booking and taken directly to my table. the restaurant became more busy when the time went on, eventually became almost full. the menu is quite varied when it is a little limited cheese eater. had a wonderful brot that tasted like a delicious naanstarted with hardened silver-mullet, delicious and very beautifully presented. I finally chose the confit dee, elements were delicious, but presentation was a tad chaotic. coming from a Jewish background, I like my butter beans soft these were a bit too al dente for me. dessert was a sensational chocolate dessert with haselnuss custard, really stunning! as my profile shows, I am not a stranger to meelin eat nice, but not a zigarre for pornstars. the personal is very efficient and competent. toilet clean and well presented. was it worth the 165 miles round trip? for the starter and dessert yes!"
