"I booked the premium pasta making masterclass for my partners birthday and I haven't stopped raving about it since. The restaurant was super helpful and accommodated a time change and then a further last minute change. On arrival we were relieved with a warm welcome. We met Chris our host and he made us feel at ease instantly! We were left to relax for a little while with a portion of Zucchini's famous garlic bread and we tried pasta crisps for the first time. We both said we would pick on the crisps throughout the session. But they wete so delicious we ended up eating them all in about 20 mins..... they were fab! The session itself was easy to follow and Chris signposted what we were doing at every step and then let us relax and make the pasta ourselves once he knew we understood. He was so attentive and kept popping over to make sure we all good. After the made the pasta we had the luxury of sitting a little bit off from the main restaurant. We were served 2-3 plates of our 5 pastas but actually only at 2 plates and we were stuffed! Chris helpfully packed all our pasta away for us and packed it in takeout boxes for us to take home. We both felt so well looked after and welcomed at Zucchinis! I would highly recommend the pasta making class to anyone. So worth the money and knowledge you leave with. Special shout out to Chris who was amazing from start to finish! A true asset to the business!"

"Usually my wife is the one who fills up the comment cards, feedback forms and writes few words on tripadvisor of the place. Usually we are a very happy, cheerful and satisfied customer most of the times. But after this dinner at the Lakes Restaurant I had a feeling I have to write a review by myself. As I am an Italian person I love food (to eat and also to cook) enjoying wine, sweets and coffee too... So I have to say if someone is really passionate about to have a good dinner this place is not the right choice. Bar is lovely, bit outdated but does the job. We discovered on arrival the bar person was already half drunk speaking and laughing even more loud than the guests! And there was a young guy in blue vest, white shirt was kind of annoying too who could not stop saying to every single person around him he is very busy has to look after a big function but till we left the bar after our aperitif he was still hanging around and chatting to his co-workers. Not a problem at all, I thought someone else will looking after his guests... Lakes restaurant looks nice, good atmosphere but the problems are just started here... Sat down, got menus in hand bread arrives in few minutes, before we even opened the menu and had a look... Nice quick service, bread sliced, slightly warm, looks fresh and tasty! Lets choose some wines, then order some food. Wine arrives by a very professional waiter, Hugo. he looks smart, friendly, helpful and knows how to serve wine in a professional way. Well done! After this we had a look on the menu and realised the choices on the menu are very poor not seasonal and overpriced but as we are already here lets eat something! Starter takes ages to come, really disappointing, tasteless food, wilted salad and supermarket part baked baguettes croutons, and just doesn`t look appetising. Finger prints on the plates everywhere. Main course coming after a long wait too looks like a pub-grub, lukewarm, lots of gravy (I guess made from gravy cubes) very far from 2 rosette standard, very amateur presentation. But at least plate warmer was working as my wife`s plate was extremely hot, but not the dish, eh! Very disappointing food £14 apparently home made burger, must be kidding, please tell me which part of the dish was home made. I had the same somewhere else in a simple pub just few days ago when I went for a quick meeting with my colleagues and had a meal with just for £7 included a pint. We got offered to see the dessert menu but I was really sceptical to see the choices as I thought they must be the same quality as the previous courses or even just simply bought in from a local bakery so we said no to the waiter. Luckily he was trying to convince us to try some so as we were still pretty hungry so we accepted the challenge. I have to say that was the best choice of the night as they were so delicious and they looked amazing Vanilla brulee and Boxford farm cheesecake. The dinner was really disappointing, never thought food can be this bad at Stoke by Nayland, don`t think we would like to come back ever again or might be just for some wine and some sweet treats or might be just for the spa treatments. Food experience 0/5 but giving 5/5 for desserts so that makes 2/5 in overall Service 1/5 for the funny welcome at the bar plus the food runner had no idea what is going on but 5/5 for Hugo the Spanish waiter so that is 3/5 in total. Price 2/5 as the quality is not matching with the price. We still left some tip and did not complain on the night to anyone as they were major problems not just a little mistake which can be solved right away with a free coffee or a 10 off the bill. We don`t want to receive any free meal or our money back after this review and if management are still happy with everything just please ignore my opinion."

"Whenever I return home for a visit and my family ask what I've been up to and I regale them with the things I've been up to in the evenings or at the weekend, I am invariably asked whether I could imagine being anywhere other than London now. The answer is no. In truth, even before I moved here, even when I was living and working in other cities, I knew that I couldn't really see myself anywhere else. Part of the appeal is that so much of the world is present in London and it's pervasive through the culture and also food on offer here. I might not yet have convinced my boyfriend that a mini break in Morocco would be amazing I'm not sure why but he remains unconvinced) but I can at least spend a few hours in chic surroundings in Fitzrovia getting a taste of Morocco. On Thursday night I spent my evening doing just that at the press launch for Le Menar. Le Menar is a smallish space 45 covers) lined with cushion strewn banquettes, little stools and gold Moroccan style tables and it has an intimate feel. The restaurant is almost split into three sections, the front area by the window for being seen, the back of the ground floor for getting cosy and whiling away the evening deep in conversation and the mezzanine for private dining or just surveying everything that's going on below. It really is typical that whenever I want or need to get away relatively on time that it is that night that everything goes a bit crazy. I ran out of the door and hopped onto a tube before running to Le Menar at the other end. We found ourselves a little space on the ground floor and I enjoyed a well deserved glass of champagne after my dash from work. As we sat and got a feel for the place, staff with plates of canapés started to circulate through the restaurant. The canapés were generally a sample of the dishes available as starters and mezze mini kibbeh, home made Waraq Enab stuffed vine leaves filled with rice, tomato, parsley, mint, onion and cumin), perfectly pink in the middle skewers of lamb, salmon tartare served on crispbread and hummus wasabi topped with lamb. The new menu, which launched on 19 January has been created by Head Chef Vernon Samuels, and which incorporates Asian and Mediterranean twists on North African flavours, techniques and presentation. The menus at Le Menar include not only a very reasonably priced lunch option £11.95 for two courses and £14.95 for three courses) but also an a la carte menu which offers the option of either a traditional starter, main and dessert or a mezze selection of eight dishes from their extensive starters mezzes section. The menu features some intriguing dishes, such as lamb prosciutto and throughout the evening we were served just a few. North African food really does offer something for everyone with plenty of variety which would satisfy meat lovers, pescetarians and vegetarians alike. We sampled plump scallops with pomegranate green tomato relish and sumac panko crust, juicy lamb chops with moutabel and baby aubergine, oysters and a cod dish which packed a powerful punch. All of the dishes that we sampled were delicious but the standout dish of the night was the creme brûlée with saffron and pistachio. The super rich edge was taken off the creme brûlée by the pistachio and it transformed a familiar dish into something perfectly in keeping with the Moroccan setting. I could have happily had a casserole dish full of the stuff and still be left wanting more. Judging by the murmurs of contentment from those around me who were also happily cracking the sugar shell, I wasn't alone in that sentiment. For modern North African food with a twist located not in the shadow of a minaret, but instead the BT Tower, Le Menar is well worth a visit."

"My twin brother Stephen and I visited all the Wetherspoon pubs in Sheffield, The Sheaf Island Pub was one of the best we dropped into. A big Wetherspoon pub, the interior is cool ,typical Wetherspoon decor and furnishings including photos and prints relating to Sheffields industrial past adorning the walls, a long solid wood serving bar dominates the main room and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside, its a fab Wetherspoon pub. We were here on a Wednesday evening, we grabbed a table, I went up the bar and ordered a large mixed grill each and for our drinks a gin tonic each, gin tonics were so refreshing, while sipping our gins our meals arrived and what a treat. Everything you could want ,steak, sausage, gammon, chips, onion rings, very tasty, very filling and just what we needed. We really enjoyed our meals and drinks in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another drink,we chose a guinness, poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we took our guinness outside and settled back, soaking up the sun while sipping our guinness. We moved on after our final guinness and for a first time visit to The Sheaf Island Pub we had a great time. The Sheaf Island Pub is easy to locate along Ecclesall Road. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 8am till Midnight. A wonderful Wetherspoon pub, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area."
