"Rang and made a booking for a Sunday evening meal. Was not informed that it was only Roast Dinners being served and if I'd have known I wouldn't have made a reservation. And what a fortunate omission this was. OMG what an absolutely stunning Roast Beef dinner I had. I mean, my Mrs can deliver a Sunday roast but yours just knocked the spots off hers. The slabs of beef that was served, hell, I have had smaller pieces when asking for steak. Cooked to perfection and the taste of the spuds. I thought I'd gone to heaven. We're here on holiday for the week and I'm coming back. Some cracking real ales to. Nom nom nom nom......"

"Pleasant athmosphere, very welcoming staff.... However, food was rather basic although nicely presented on the plate. Not bad, but I will not be ordering again what I had. "it didn't eat differently here than the breakfast, which was nice. I stayed for a night in room 1, that is one of the deluxe double rooms, and it really had the wow factor! it was a nice room, everything was top quality, from bed linen to free tea and coffee. nice free stehbad and a massive shower - both enjoyed when they look somewhere in the shopping center of the city, this is ideal. I was looking for a boutique hotel experience, and this is exactly what I have! would highly recommend to stay here. a nice young lady who served breakfast, sorted me a taxi after I had no joy even after the phone call. the personal could not have been nicer."

"My friend and myself had the Christmas menu. The soup was lukewarm the main meal didn’t really have all the trimmings. One parsnip one carrot and half boiled potatoes. Turkey was not too bad the desserts were very small squares of cheesecake with a strawberry. I had made a mistake ordering white wine and not rose. So I asked if I could change it. I’m sure they weren’t happy. And when the bill arrived I was charged for the wines I returned I had to mention this. The bill came to with service charges added at the end one was for nearly my friend left a tip. We were left hungry and ended up going to a shop and buying crisps and chocolate. Not really worth per person. Left a bit disappointed to be honest."

"This was my third visit to Homewood Park and as usual the food was delicious. Everything was beautifully presented. They use ingredients that I wouldn’t necessarily eat at home but always happy to try when out out for a meal. My husband had smoked chicken, black pudding, pickled mushrooms and pear. An unusual combination, but beautifully presented and he cleared his plate. We both had roast Pork as a main meal and I had Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was light as air, but more sticky toffee sauce please! Wonderful! Well done chef. The staff were charming as ever, friendly and attentive. They all make you feel very special, from Ania on Reception, Miles in the Bar and the waiter who remembered our faces from a previous visit. We can’t wait for our next trip in May for a special birthday celebration."

"After reading the reviews, we had high expectations for our visit to Mad Dogs on a Thursday evening. However, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, and the waitress directed us to the bar area, where we found bench-style seating. We started with poppers and mozzarella sticks, both of which were generously portioned and delicious. For our main course, we ordered ribs, but unfortunately, they were too dry and not something we would recommend. The overall atmosphere felt a bit lackluster, and the decor was quite plain."

"My bloke and I called here for a takeaway coffee on our way home to Livingston after a long drive. We'd tried another café (our usual go-to) but they were closed. Not only were the 2 lady staff in the Old Bank pleasant and friendly, especially as we'd arrived just before 5pm and they were about to close, but we were given 2 cups of great quality latte and not charged at all!! THIS will be our go-to from now on"

I had the poke bowl that was a real tasty bite because I rarely go to try to pick my own veg. it was busy when I arrived, so the service was a little slow, but I was very happy to have a cozy lunch in such a beautiful location."

"It was such a pleasant experience in here. Me and my bf went there for lunch, and we sat in a lovely booth with a sea view. I ordered mussels cooked in white wine and cream sauce. My bf had the prawn cocktail. As a main we both had the lobster thermidor. The quality of food here is top notch. And service from staff was excellent. Our server Eammon in particular really looked after us well and made sure everything was ok. I highly recomend this place if you are looking for a nice seafood meal. "Just returned from a lovely few days at Titchwell Manor. We booked a last minute 3 nights break as the weather looked promising. We booked over the phone as we took our well behaved dog with us. Although it’s at the higher end of what we normally pay we felt it was worth it. We stayed in room 24 in the courtyard, it opened up on to the rear gardens which were beautiful. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and welcoming. There was only a bath and hand held shower, we wouldn’t normally book a room without a walk in shower but we only booked a few days before. The breakfast was outstanding, great quality and variety on the buffet table in particular. Lovely hot food, nothing too much trouble. The staff were all friendly and courteous, all very kind to our dog. We had to eat in the Bistro as this is the only dog friendly restaurant, not a problem for us. The evening meal has a smaller menu but focuses on quality. We enjoyed everything we ate. The only negative for us is there’s nowhere to safely walk your dog in an evening. The hotel is directly on the busy roadside. It wouldn’t deter us from staying again, just something to beat in mind. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic"

"What a wonderful discovery! While on vacation, we decided to have Sunday lunch at a restaurant we found with great reviews. We were happy that we made a reservation, as the old pub was charming and located up the hill in Boscastle with a convenient car park. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, especially the roast which three of us ordered. It was honestly one of the best pub roasts we've ever had - tasty, generous portions, well-cooked, hot, and full of flavor. The fish and chips were also delicious, with fresh, light fish and crispy batter, accompanied by tasty chips. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend a visit."

"we are looking forward to our visit as there were so many good reviews, but unfortunately we cannot add them. our table was booked for 6 and we ordered the 2 hanging backs for £10. 1 was huh, and 1 was steak. Unfortunately, when the two showed up, that was still raw in the middle and the steak was cold with almost raw mushrooms and paprika. the staff was very apologetic and took away our meal times. when they came back, this time was boiled. correct, but unfortunately the chips were overkook3d and looked like they were taken from the end of the fries out of the previous day. also there was no sauce on the kebabs, who did not know that we should be told until we were told after our visit. the staff was extremely regrettable for our experience and knocked the price of the food of the entire bill. we were at home in 19 hours. I'm sorry to have no photos"

"First impression on walking into this restaurant within the college was a surprise at how smart, well furnished and decorated it is. Lovely comfortable chairs and well spaced tables. As good as any top class restaurant. The student staff were all smartly dressed with name tags and we were given a very warm welcome. There was a selection of fresh baked rolls waiting on the table for us. The menu, which changes regularly, had a choice of three dishes for each course and was very reasonably priced. A full wine list of wines by glass and bottle was also well priced. The food was excellent and very well presented. Altogether a great experience and we will definitely go again."

"I had a disappointing experience at The Lion in Wendlebury. After a day of exploring Blenheim Palace, my family and I decided to have a late lunch at the restaurant. We arrived around 7:30, hoping to enjoy some starters. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by rude and unprofessional service. The restaurant was not busy, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and rushed. One staff member was particularly disrespectful towards a female bartender, making offensive remarks about her gender. Overall, I would not recommend dining at The Lion and suggest finding another restaurant with better service."

"This is one of our local pubs and, when it was refurbished, we were very impressed. The price was on the higher side, but the menu was amazing; plenty of reference to local suppliers along with some inventive takes on traditional pub food. Service was awesome (almost personal) and the specials board was brilliant. Consequently, we have been here several times, but this last time was a disappointment, especially as far as the menu (which they used to change regularly) was concerned it was just ...well... ORDINARY ... Standard pub style offerings, nothing particularly inspiring. Don 't get me wrong, it tasted fine, was presented well and was of good quality, so I suppose it 's a little churlish of me to make comment; but for the price, I was expecting more of what I got last time they seem to have played safe since we last went... Perhaps that what the great British public want, though? Service was on the slow ish side, ...too few staff... said the waitress, with at least half the tables full, there was one person on the bar and the wait staff were run ragged I hope they get well paid, because they tried their best to remain cheerful. It 's still a nice place, the food is 'fine ', just don 't go expecting to be blown away."
