"Ok. We went here for Sunday lunch today and I have to say, the staff and service were excellent but I was absolutely appalled at the amount of food I got for a roast lunch for £21!!! This is not a small amount of money for a communal lunch not a bespoke meal. I do NOT need quantity over quality and prefer the latter but my plate was less than half full when it arrived (a normal sized plate) I had two half slices of beef, one small floret of broccoli, one quarter parsnip, half a carrot, a small bit of cauliflower cheese and some scrapings of cabbage. The food was quite nice, not outstanding but it was ridiculous. I am not a large man. I am not a greedy man. But I expect to leave here feeling like I have been fed properly especially for £21 for what is a fairly well trodden path of a Sunday lunch. I am really, really, really disappointed and if they are struggling to make money with what they charged me then it is clear, they will not be in business for much longer. What a fall from grace in my eyes!"

"when I booked, I asked for a quiet table, as I am covid vulnerable. the employees were concerned that the table we were sitting was suitable, it was) and several times verified that we felt comfortable. we were very satisfied with their maintenance. the meal was excellent; well prepared and served."

"We decided to celebrate my Dad's 50th birthday party at The Annex and it was absolutely wonderful! We chose this venue because of its flexibility in terms of weather. Despite reserving an outdoor space in hopes of good weather, it ended up raining in typical British fashion. However, this did not pose a problem as the staff had set up large umbrellas and heaters, allowing us to still enjoy the outdoor space. Abi was incredibly helpful leading up to the event, answering all of our questions promptly. On the day of the party, the staff assisted us in setting up decorations and provided excellent service from beginning to end. They even packed up all the decorations and wrapped up the cake at the end of the night. The pizzas were delicious and well-received by our guests, and Abi accommodated our requests to customize certain items on the menu. I highly recommend The Annex as a venue for any party or event!"

"The atmosphere felt quite cliquish and not very welcoming. We spent £40 for two Sunday Roasts and a Coke each, which seems steep. The meal included one parsnip, a spoonful of mashed potatoes that tasted like they came from a packet, and a shared plate of vegetables that consisted of one tablespoon of peas, two small florets of overcooked or possibly frozen cauliflower, and a tablespoon of mashed carrots. It's disappointing, as I had always enjoyed this place, but I won’t be returning. Food rating: 3/10."

"This was my third visit to Homewood Park, and as always, the food was delicious. Everything was beautifully presented. They incorporate ingredients I wouldn’t typically use at home, but I'm always eager to try them when dining out. My husband had a dish of smoked chicken, black pudding, pickled mushrooms, and pear. It was an unusual combination but was presented so nicely that he finished every bite. For our main course, we both chose roast pork, and for dessert, I opted for sticky toffee pudding. It was light as a feather, though I wouldn’t have minded a bit more of the sticky toffee sauce! Absolutely wonderful! Kudos to the chef. The staff were as charming as ever—friendly and attentive. They truly make you feel special, from Ania at the reception to Miles at the bar, and the waiter who remembered us from our previous visit. We're already looking forward to our next trip in May for a special birthday celebration!"

"We visited here the day before and booked a table for the following evening as it’s a small venue. We had to come in quite late because it’s small, busy and gets booked up. We understand all of these things, but on the night in question we were greeted by more than one individual who seemed very stressed and spoke to us initially as if we didn’t have a table booked and couldn’t help us. This wasn’t a great first impression. Eventually we were seated at a table and given menus. We knew what we wanted to order quickly, but had to wait quite a while before anyone came over to take a drinks order. So when they did we ordered food at the same time. We waited quite some time for drinks and even longer for food. Although tables were finishing off there seemed to be a lot of tables still waiting for food. It felt a bit frantic and as if the kitchen was struggling to cope. When we received our mains they were nicely presented. The main issue was that one of the portions of chips was cold and the other was only lukewarm. The fish was okay in terms of temperature and was as expected in terms of flavour, apart from the lobster which was impossible to crack through using the basic tools provided, so it had to be returned to the kitchen for assistance which meant other food was cooling. It was a chilly evening, but the doors were open and the food cooled quicker still. The wine selection was good and the wine selected went well with the food. The desserts on offer looked amazing and we sampled them and can confirm that they were very good. The disappointment here comes from being provided with cold sides, inadequate equipment to get in to the lobster, chewy lobster meat and other fish cooling rapidly because the ambient temperature was falling rapidly and windows/doors remained open."

"We walked in and weren’t greeted for around 5 minutes, we then asked if we could order some breakfast at 10:45 AM, which the waitress replied ‘not sure, you only have 15 minutes’ even though the menus outside stated breakfast was served until 11:30. We then went back outside to decide what we wanted to order, and came back in and again weren’t greeted for a while, it seemed the staff were too busy wanting to chat as it was dead empty and no one else was there to be served. She then came round to the bar and took our order, I asked for a coffee and a pint of water with ice and lemon and then ordered some food. We paid and then the drinks arrived shortly outside which my coffee was then spilt all over the edge and then no water. 20 minutes later our breakfast arrived, missing half of the food and was given no cutlery which we had to then ask for. None of the staff seemed to check and ask how the food and drinks were and when giving us our drinks or food they didn’t even speak just slammed them down on the table. Very poor experience which is a shame as Marlow is such a lovely area. I would avoid this place and check out the other pubs that I’m sure have staff that are willing to serve you and not make it seem like a hassle when customers walk in. Will not be returning."

"Not a great experience for a first time visit. Service was incredibly lame the staff just didn’t seem on the ball at all. 20 mins just to take a drinks order isn’t ideal (only a few covers were present in the restaurant at this point). The meat board was good by way of the meats being cooked very well, but the amount of salt used was just excessive even Salt BAE would have difficulty sprinkling that amount of salt on meat. Our mouths were burning and many, many bottles of mineral water were consumed as a result of how salty the meat was. Further drink orders were place only to be waiting for 15 mins for them to arrive (only after I prompted one of the waiters to bring our drinks to the table). I was then presented with a £18 service charge which I felt was not deserved owing to the front of house staff not providing a dining experience that, at a bare minimum, was hoped for. I opted to pay £5 instead only to be told by the waiter “I’ll remove the whole charge”. He was obviously aware of the poor service we had received. I’m sorry, but I won’t be returning nor will I recommend this restaurant."

"We visited on a Friday night as a family of 5, all ages. The service was friendly and personable. We were made really welcome and nothing was a bother. The food was brilliant. Huge portions and all delicious. The cullin skink was tasty and the burgers thick and delicious. However the star of the dinner was the sticky toffee pudding! The sauce alone was amazing! We enjoyed it so much we went back for our lunch the next day. It was just as impressive and this time we tried out the cocktails magic! I would throughly recommend here for food and drinks not to be missed!"

"We stupidly hadn 't booked anywhere in advance for Sunday dinner and everywhere we tried was full. Fortunately Titchwell Manor managed to squeeze us in (although when I say 'squeeze ' they had put in a lot of covid 19 regulations and we were pleased to see all the tables really spread out and adhering to guidelines) The staff were all helpful and efficient. The starters and main courses were exceptional- really well presented and perfectly cooked, even the accompanying bread was delicious and freshly made.Unfortunately our childs meal was disappointing- bland creamy pasta with rock hard peas. The desserts were also really odd, I think its the first time I 've eaten a dessert and craved something sweet afterwards. The pastry chef clearly had an aversion to sugar- I couldn 't actually eat mine and mentioned to the waitress that the desserts were not as expected and were definitely lacking any sugar to the point we couldn 't eat them- the waitress replied that she appreciated the feedback and then proceeded to charge us in full, even for the uneaten ones. This was a real shame as the rest of the meal had been so good- we were left with a bit of a sour taste in our mouths (literally!)We would return as the rest of the meal and service had been so good, but will definitely skip dessert next time!"

"After reading the reviews, we had high expectations for our visit to Mad Dogs on a Thursday evening. However, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, and the waitress directed us to the bar area, where we found bench-style seating. We started with poppers and mozzarella sticks, both of which were generously portioned and delicious. For our main course, we ordered ribs, but unfortunately, they were too dry and not something we would recommend. The overall atmosphere felt a bit lackluster, and the decor was quite plain."

An unusual combination, but beautifully presented and he cleared his plate. We both had roast Pork as a main meal and I had Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. "The overall experience was very pleasant and we were well looked after and the' birthday boy' had some candles on his sweet, provides by the kitchen. The food was well presented and for the most part ,good value I will go there again but my disappointment was that the vegetarian option was limited to one fairly ordinary omelette and with my son's problems of allergy to mushrooms and dislike of fish , there was little flexibility in the limited menu. I may have mistakenly read the website menu, which seemed to suggest that there were three menu's to choose from rather than the one we received on arrival. If booking ,it would be worth checking by phone what the menu provides for the day of your choice, if there are allergy issues etc."

"Visited this place for coffee and cake, it was a round 5pm and alot if other places were closing. Scruffy looking, dirty stained carpet, on the plus side the toilets and tables were clean. Victoria sponge at £4,20 per slice x 2 looked the part but tasted sugary sweet and synthetic. The cream wasn’t ! Don’t know what it was , tasted like cheap soft icing. At first we thought the slices were very small for the price but considering the taste they were more than enough. Latte x 2 were ok. £14. 20 not well spent . Go elsewhere!"

"Great pub serving tasty meals. Really impressed with the gluten free approach to cooking: Best gluten free fish and chips ever. A local band was jamming in the back room which really added to the atmosphere. Great evening had by all. We will definitely be back. It is a shame the Napoleon is a tied pub if it served the local Crackington Cider it would be absolutely perfect!!! Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian options. The tempura miso cauliflower was delicious"
