"For me this is a proper pub.it has a side you can go and eat if you want, but for me it has a proper bar area where you can have a pint or two with your dog"

"This was my third visit to Homewood Park and as usual the food was delicious. Everything was beautifully presented. They use ingredients that I wouldn’t necessarily eat at home but always happy to try when out out for a meal. My husband had smoked chicken, black pudding, pickled mushrooms and pear. An unusual combination, but beautifully presented and he cleared his plate. We both had roast Pork as a main meal and I had Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was light as air, but more sticky toffee sauce please! Wonderful! Well done chef. The staff were charming as ever, friendly and attentive. They all make you feel very special, from Ania on Reception, Miles in the Bar and the waiter who remembered our faces from a previous visit. We can’t wait for our next trip in May for a special birthday celebration."

"Walked out due to poor service, staff should do better. We had prebooked a table and on arrival were told to sit wherever we wanted, the girl I spoke to didn't even ask my name. Having found a free table I then went and stood at the bar to be served, and stood and stood. The bar was relatively quiet and I was the only person waiting to be served. The barman saw me but didn't acknowledge me and continued to chat to the other female staff members while slowly making 2 cocktails. I stood for almost 15 minutes before we decided that it was time to find somewhere else to spend the night. Really poor service. If the bar was busy I could have accepted slow service but it wasn't!"

"After reading the reviews, we had high expectations for our visit to Mad Dogs on a Thursday evening. However, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, and the waitress directed us to the bar area, where we found bench-style seating. We started with poppers and mozzarella sticks, both of which were generously portioned and delicious. For our main course, we ordered ribs, but unfortunately, they were too dry and not something we would recommend. The overall atmosphere felt a bit lackluster, and the decor was quite plain."

"Visited this place for coffee and cake, it was a round 5pm and alot if other places were closing. Scruffy looking, dirty stained carpet, on the plus side the toilets and tables were clean. Victoria sponge at £4,20 per slice x 2 looked the part but tasted sugary sweet and synthetic. The cream wasn’t ! Don’t know what it was , tasted like cheap soft icing. At first we thought the slices were very small for the price but considering the taste they were more than enough. Latte x 2 were ok. £14. 20 not well spent . Go elsewhere!"

"Great pub serving tasty meals. Really impressed with the gluten free approach to cooking: Best gluten free fish and chips ever. A local band was jamming in the back room which really added to the atmosphere. Great evening had by all. We will definitely be back. It is a shame the Napoleon is a tied pub if it served the local Crackington Cider it would be absolutely perfect!!! Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian options. The tempura miso cauliflower was delicious"

"Just returned from a lovely few days at Titchwell Manor. We booked a last minute 3 nights break as the weather looked promising. We booked over the phone as we took our well behaved dog with us. Although it’s at the higher end of what we normally pay we felt it was worth it. We stayed in room 24 in the courtyard, it opened up on to the rear gardens which were beautiful. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and welcoming. There was only a bath and hand held shower, we wouldn’t normally book a room without a walk in shower but we only booked a few days before. The breakfast was outstanding, great quality and variety on the buffet table in particular. Lovely hot food, nothing too much trouble. The staff were all friendly and courteous, all very kind to our dog. We had to eat in the Bistro as this is the only dog friendly restaurant, not a problem for us. The evening meal has a smaller menu but focuses on quality. We enjoyed everything we ate. The only negative for us is there’s nowhere to safely walk your dog in an evening. The hotel is directly on the busy roadside. It wouldn’t deter us from staying again, just something to beat in mind. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic"

"I wasn't too impressed with this restaurant. Maybe I came at a bad time. The staff seemed a bit unprofessional and disinterested, like they were just random people off the street. It would have been nice to see them dressed a bit better and with a friendlier attitude. They didn't seem too happy that we just wanted coffee, but the coffee and cake were decent. I might come back again in the future."

"we visited here on the day we moved out of liverpool to the south. we decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal before we drive to the house to crash for the night and to buy and unpack the next day. we did not know the area and decided to make only one trip and see what we found. we stumbled on a road sign for the lions in wendlebury. when we arrived, the building looked absolutely beautiful from the outside, the hanging baskets made it really so inviting and beautiful and the flower colors were really nice and gave a fab scent. so first impressions were really good. we went in and were pleasantly surprised, we asked if they had space for us, and they did. the host asked if we had been before what we said we had not done so that we showed the three different restaurants from which we could choose, and there is really something for everyone. from a bar/sub area, to a chic restaurant area, to a fabulous escaping area in the open. we decided to sit outside as the night was glorious, and we sat next to the kitchen and facing a beautiful open fire, the furniture was comfortable and clean and very well presented and well maintained without seeing a mark on the glass table top. the waitresses were incredibly attentive and polite, nothing was too much to ask, and the service was fast and to a very high standard. the eating was extraordinary, the children's meals were of an extremely high standard and the adult meals were perfect. the kitchen was open, and we could see inside and the place looked flawless. there were always people who care about eating as soon as the bell went for the service, and there were many employees milling to meet the needs of the customers as soon as they were needed. the atmosphere was also wonderful. it is now my favorite place to go for everyone, and if someone needs a master class, how to do things in a local operation to accommodate all culinary experiences, then this is the place to visit. everything from external and internal facilities was perfectly clean, well presented and well thought-out. I can't judge this place high enough and if they haven't been, they have to visit. a job that is well done by all."

"First impression on walking into this restaurant within the college was a surprise at how smart, well furnished and decorated it is. Lovely comfortable chairs and well spaced tables. As good as any top class restaurant. The student staff were all smartly dressed with name tags and we were given a very warm welcome. There was a selection of fresh baked rolls waiting on the table for us. The menu, which changes regularly, had a choice of three dishes for each course and was very reasonably priced. A full wine list of wines by glass and bottle was also well priced. The food was excellent and very well presented. Altogether a great experience and we will definitely go again."

"This is one of our local pubs and, when it was refurbished, we were very impressed. The price was on the higher side, but the menu was amazing; plenty of reference to local suppliers along with some inventive takes on traditional pub food. Service was awesome (almost personal) and the specials board was brilliant. Consequently, we have been here several times, but this last time was a disappointment, especially as far as the menu (which they used to change regularly) was concerned it was just ...well... ORDINARY ... Standard pub style offerings, nothing particularly inspiring. Don 't get me wrong, it tasted fine, was presented well and was of good quality, so I suppose it 's a little churlish of me to make comment; but for the price, I was expecting more of what I got last time they seem to have played safe since we last went... Perhaps that what the great British public want, though? Service was on the slow ish side, ...too few staff... said the waitress, with at least half the tables full, there was one person on the bar and the wait staff were run ragged I hope they get well paid, because they tried their best to remain cheerful. It 's still a nice place, the food is 'fine ', just don 't go expecting to be blown away."

"We had a lovely meal and the staff were fantastic. Our little one loved the fish tank and we all felt very looked after. The food was all very delicious too. We walked in at opening time but it did get busy around 6pm. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, all the staff and chefs made our toddler feel very welcome and she enjoyed the food. Meal type: Dinner"

"I have been going to the Whitchaff for as long as I can remember; whether it's for dates, family meals, or catching up with friends. The food is consistently amazing, making it tough to decide what to order each time. Some of our favorites include the steak and Stilton pie, cajun chicken ciabatta, and the cheesy garlic bread. The burgers are huge and the desserts are delicious. The portion sizes are just right, and the prices are reasonable. During busy times, the service can be a bit slow but not to the point where you feel forgotten. This gives you more time to relax and enjoy your company. The staff is lovely and the recent refurbishment adds to the charm of the place. We are not local but we all make the drive to get there. It's recommended to make a reservation, but during nicer weather, you can also dine outside. We are grateful that they survived the challenges of Covid, as it would have been a loss to lose such a great place."

"I haven’t been to Southport since I was 12 and we stayed at Pontins! I am now 62! Today I went with my son and grandson. We arrived very early, sadly the pier was closed but we walked on the beach which was lovely. We then walked through the centre and luckily stumbled across the tea room. I just loved the whole place, the decor and the ethos was amazing. The furniture and the clock chiming reminding me of my grandparents home as a child. I loved the music too. The staff were so friendly and so professional. My grandson was fascinated by their delightful manners and it was so lovely because I am constantly trying to remind him of the importance of manners. My son and I had the full English breakfast. It really was fabulous. My grandson is a really fussy eater and said he wasn’t hungry. He ate one of my sausages and later on said could we go again so he could have his own breakfast. I can safely say we will most definitely return in the future. In this very modern world of fast and bland food your tea room proved that quality, tradition and fabulous food can be found in ‘The Westminster Tea Rooms, Southport. THANKYOU. "The restaurant offers fast, professional service with generous portions at competitive prices. Definitely worth a visit! The price per person ranges from £20-30. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect score of 5. Highly recommended dishes include the Beef Burger with BBQ Pulled Pork Onion Rings Coleslaw and Chips, Fish and Chips, Tempura Prawns, Prawn Cocktail, and Twisted Prawns."

"Two hot chocolates, two coffees and a small glass of milk for a toddler. Most places would throw in the milk for free, or charge 50p or whatever. Not here, where instead there was an espresso we hadn 't had on the bill for £3. Queried this and told we don 't have a button for milk as though that is my problem not theirs. Mentioned that £3 for a small glass of milk is extremely steep, just met with shrugs and a dismissive I know . I get that hospitality is having a hard time of it, but they seem plenty busy and frankly I don 't like being fleeced. How about you keep your customers happy and take it off the bill? Also had food a few months ago after new ownership, which was frankly nothing to write home about, although it may have improved in the meantime. I doubt we 'll be back to find out, though, given the attitude on display."

"Went for dinner on Sunday evening, hadn’t booked a table but we managed to get a table. Staff very friendly and welcoming. I had chicken and sweetcorn soup for a starter. Very tasty and packed with chunks of chicken, a meal in itself. Next up was breaded fish and chips with lovely homemade tartare sauce, my partner had a steak pie with the seasonal vegetables which she really enjoyed. Both portions of food were very large and extremely tasty. Went to pay the bill and was very reasonably priced as well. Would certainly recommend and will definitely be back when in the area"

"The overall experience was very pleasant and we were well looked after and the' birthday boy' had some candles on his sweet, provides by the kitchen. The food was well presented and for the most part ,good value I will go there again but my disappointment was that the vegetarian option was limited to one fairly ordinary omelette and with my son's problems of allergy to mushrooms and dislike of fish , there was little flexibility in the limited menu. I may have mistakenly read the website menu, which seemed to suggest that there were three menu's to choose from rather than the one we received on arrival. If booking ,it would be worth checking by phone what the menu provides for the day of your choice, if there are allergy issues etc."

"My husband and I came to your restaurant on Saturday 3rd September 2023, for our wedding anniversary. I chose the chowder and when it arrived, I could barely eat it as it was so, so salty. I told the waitress who told the chef and the chef said it was the fish. Do think the chef tasted the dish!!!.Hake isn’t that salty, I drank copious amounts of water. It was disgusting as I wasn’t offered anything else. The lemon meringue we had for dessert was as all meringue and less than a quarter of inch of lemon which had no taste. Very disappointed as we were told by friends how good it was. It spoilt our evening as it was supposed to be a special one."
