"We visited on a Friday night as a family of 5, all ages. The service was friendly and personable. We were made really welcome and nothing was a bother. The food was brilliant. Huge portions and all delicious. The cullin skink was tasty and the burgers thick and delicious. However the star of the dinner was the sticky toffee pudding! The sauce alone was amazing! We enjoyed it so much we went back for our lunch the next day. It was just as impressive and this time we tried out the cocktails magic! I would throughly recommend here for food and drinks not to be missed!"

The menu is simple yet satisfying. The dishes are freshly cooked and beautifully plated. The cocktails are delightful. The prices are fair. Darcy and Sian provide excellent service.

We visited here on a Saturday afternoon for some drinks. We were seated at a nice, big table. The service was great from start to finish. We had cocktails and beers which were all good, and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend for drinks. View menu

A good selection of food on the menu for dinner. Very busy so booking recommended. We enjoyed Cullen Skink, the seafood crepe, abd the beef stroganoff. Staff friendly and helpful. Quick service. If celebrating their cocktail tree was very popular.

This isn’t our first time visiting the Townhouse in Arbroath and definitely won’t be the last. From the start, the service from the manager to the service of our waitress Darcy. Was extremely busy, but at no point did we feel forgotten about. Fantastic experience, fantastic food, fantastic service.

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday with my whole family and I couldn't be more satisfied with this restaurant. We each enjoyed a three-course meal for 22 pounds and every course was fantastic. All 11 of us had a fabulous evening. The staff was attentive without being overbearing, striking the perfect balance. View menu

We popped in here to get out of the rain in Arbroath one day. Glad we did as we really liked the place. Warm welcome from staff and shown to our table. Had only wanted drinks but decided to have a bite to eat. Now, the highlight of the day was the Cullen Skink amazing. So so tasty and filling. Definitely recommend a visit just to try that alone

"Overall, we had a disappointing family meal at the local restaurant. We booked for a table of 12 for my mum's birthday. We were the only table when we arrived. Another table of 2 arrived during our main course. There was a friendly informal server when we arrived though I got the impression he was not a formal waiter as he did not know much about the menu. He also disappeared after a short time. After this time, we were served by one of the kitchen staff. Obviously, this led to inadequate and slow service. The meals were served very slowly. We had no option to order more drinks throughout the meal. Our main course plates were not taken away after we finished and after waiting for a while we decided just to leave and get deserts at home. Some comments about the food. We were told when we first arrived that there were no steaks. That reduced our options considerably. However, what surprised us was one of the diners at the other table was served a steak! We were told that they do not have tomato sauce. This is highly unusual for a restaurant that serves steak, burgers and chicken tenders with chips. One of our party member nipped down the road to a local shop and bought a bottle ketchup for the table. The food was okay but we felt it was very one dimensional. A lot of the dishes were served in a similar manner with the same dressings and toppings. The chips were a little greasy. I would have wished that our experience was better but unfortunately it wasn't so. I understand how difficult it must be for the restaurant trade just now and we try and support local businesses. However, we would still expecting decent service and food. I tried to message the restaurant in the first instance for a response but have not received any reply."
