"Took my wife with kids for her 50th birthday party after the place has been refurbished. My wife and I had starters and asked for our kids meals to come at the same time. Both kids ordered sausages and mash one asked for no gravy and the other asked could it be in a separate dish just in case she did not like it. The waiter assured us it came separate. Two meals came one had the gravy poured all over it, that is not served separate as asked for and confirmed by the waiter. So my daughter had to wait for the right meal to come. Allowing for the fact they were kids meal to serve only one sausage is ridiculously mean. The waiter later explained he made a mistake when taking the order so we accepted it as he was a nice guy. I had carrot and coriander soup. It was tasty and a fair portion. My wife had whipped goats cheese and it was an embarrassing portion. Absolutely tiny amount of goats cheese. We then waited circa 50 mins for our mains to come. I had the fig roast, which was very tasty but the sprouts weren’t cooked. My wife had the sea bass fillets which again was nice but the potatoes were not properly cooked. Deserts were nice and tasty. Overall okay but they must do much better. We never put quantity over quality but the portions were just too miserable, the service slow and the chef should not send out vegetables not cooked properly especially when you wait so long for your main course. Won’t rush back"

"I had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration at this restaurant with my mom and sisters. We were initially disappointed when we were seated in a dark and dingy corner and had to use our phone torches to read the menu. The flower on our table was also wilted. However, after speaking with a staff member, we were moved to a brighter table and the rest of the evening was fantastic. The food and service were excellent. We all opted for the special Mother's Day menu, which offered a great selection of dishes over three courses. We all chose the Sirloin of Beef Roast for our main course, which was served with a variety of delicious vegetables and a Yorkshire Pudding. The beef was perfectly cooked. The desserts were also amazing, with options like Apple and Damson Crumble, Lemon Posett, and Sticky Toffee Pudding, all of which were delightful. The staff were friendly, polite, and respectful, providing excellent service throughout the meal. A big thank you to the Pheasant Team for a memorable dining experience."

"Having been satisfied with Oblix West many times, we wanted to spend my partner 's birthday indulging the Afternoon Tea at Oblix East. Unfortunately, the food quality is underwhelming the desserts are too sweet most importantly despite our booking being for 2h, we were asked to leave after 1.5h, due to change in their booking system for all new bookings from 2h to 1.5h this does not seem to be true as the website still shows all new future bookings being for 2h. 1.5h felt very rushed given the level of swetness of food. Quite a shame this side of Oblix could not maintain its standard."

"we both found the dessert the highlight of our meal and remembered our school days. we have both decided for the heavenly ripple chocolate mousse, which was absolutely heavenly. I loved celestial nasty as a child and from any inexplicable reason had forgotten his existence in the last decades or something. the sweet celestial taste, which was cut through the chocolate, was divine and had both of us in raptures."

"Th food and location are great. Free parking for customers if you register at the bar. Great choice available. I had the chicken salad and they were happy to swap the bacon for Goats cheese. The chocolate and peanut bomb was everything you could ask for in a dessert! The service was a bit slow as it took nearly 45 mins to get our mains but we were chatting. If I was in a rush it may have been a problem!"

"My blush wine was warm and my lamb grissly. I wanted to see if my daughter in law wanted to drink wine and said to server but he still got me a glass of wine which was what I originally asked for but then said I’d like to wait as may order a bottle. By the time I ordered a bottle, before my glass of wine turned up, I was told too late as it had been put through. I get he was young, maybe I should have made more of a stand. Wasn’t the end of the world but nonetheless, annoying. Would I rush back, no, would I recommend, maybe. I’ve had better but this experience soured previous ones."

"It was extremely busy had to wait for 40 minutes before getting seated even though we had booked. The waiter tried hard but kept forgetting our drinks getting them wrong I really don't know why they can't write it down! I had the lamb roast dinner it should of been called a lamb fat roast dinner as there was hardly any meat just fat, we also asked for gravey which was meant to be bottomless all we got was a dribble on the plate when we asked for more it never turned up. Then to top it off the waiter gave us the wrong bill we only realised when he had taken our money then practically accused us of changing the bill (not sure how on earth we could of done that) then as we owed extra money we paid using a card machine which broke 3 times, the waiter was then practically banging it on the side getting very angry. So we won't be going back."

When I called to confirm if the venue was dog-friendly, it wasn't clearly communicated to me that dogs are not allowed in the main restaurant. "We were comfortably protected from the elements in the outdoor terrace. Food was great, all courses were presented well and tasted good. Service was ok, after asking the waitress to move away another table's wine bucket that was placed behind me and between a plant, so they had to physically brush past to get to it to serve , so much for social distancing. Also taking away the wine glasses when there was still half the wine to be served. Might be a good idea to have the wine for the relevant table near it so this wouldn't happen."

"We want to express our gratitude to Christine, Lisa, and the team at The Cranleigh for making our wedding reception in June absolutely amazing. They were incredibly accommodating and helpful in organizing the event. It never felt like they were focused on charging us the highest price, but rather on making sure that everything was tailored to our preferences. Christine went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly on the day and was always available to address any requests or questions. The dinner was delicious and our guests thoroughly enjoyed it, as well as the buffet and midnight snacks (bacon sandwiches and chips). The staff were attentive, polite, and made sure that everyone felt welcome and well-fed. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and highly recommend The Cranleigh for any event. "Nice pub, what you would expect from a red lion. Food menu is larger than most. Burgers, classic mains, scallops, burgers, pizza and steaks plus the healthy salads and main options too. There really is a lot to choose from. I tried the koftas for starters. No picture, didn't really deserve one if I'm honest. The salad was nice but was sort of plonked on the plate. The kofta was dry and was actually just 3 meatballs on sticks. Forgot my sides, the crispy pork belly was OK. The fish and chips were good. Nothing overwhelming or outstanding. Supremely average however there was a very good bar keep! She was young and lived on a boat. She's a star, very good service. I shall return just to see if the menu should reach as far as it says! I really hope it does as its such a lovely pub."

"Manager owner whoever she was needs to stay back of house! We should have known it wasnt going to be great when the bottle of wine was plonked on the table, the lid still on we had to pour the first glass ourselves. We Had the shared Camembert to start that came out cold, with burnt toast no chutney! Whilst we were still eating realising the above on the starter our mains arrived. Mouth full having to make space for the mains beef fillet salad which was a starter size at 13 Was not fillet but more Minute steak was put down in front of us while we balanced side plates and had to re-use cheese covered cutlery. Before we could say anything thing the manager owner who ever she was was gone! Never to be seen again until she came to take our money, she rudely put down the bill never asked how everything was , slammed down the terminal and turned away for the PIN. Payment received, she then proceeded to waive the receipt to be taken from her fingers. Rude! Needless to say the food has gone down and so has the service since the last time I visited this establishment. Pity as its a pretty pub inside."

"We were in London for almost 2 weeks and got takeout or dine in several times because this restaurant was 1) super tasty; 2) had great service; and, most importantly, 3) a terrific allergy program with fantastic gluten free food. The first question you get when you walk in is do you have any allergies? If so, they send you their allergy manager, who explains how to filter their online menu and order appropriately. We went to several of this chain in the UK and they were all like this! Each time I did takeout, the food was ready either right when I showed up or shortly thereafter. It was always hot and good and I was helped right away. Highly recommend!"

"I have always enjoyed eating in white hard, but this last experience was quite sad. we waited for almost an hour for the main meal to come to the table. we sat next to the door that led into the kitchen, so a lot of traffic that went in feet of me, occasional staff joined the door to go through the kitchen, I found that unpleasant. where I sat, the walkway was narrow and other customers beat into my chair and my partner chair. beside us was a rather enthusiastic man on a first date that dominated talk about us. the sadst part was this a meal to celebrate my sonny birthday, his uncle, I and my partner apologized for a disappointing evening. the white hard is a brilliant place to have a meal, but not this at night"

"My wife and I went for a meal here near end July 2024. The place was nearly empty. Little atmosphere or ambience. We both had Sea Bass for main coarse....and duly our meal arrived. Nice sea bass...but very small and served on a ton of risotto (to fill out the meal , I presume). All tasty enough. But the meal was expensive for what we got and poor value for money. "Went here for an impromptu meal for my birthday. The restaurant was empty 3 waiting staff and 2 chefs standing around. We were shown to our table and given a menu. We both have allergies and enquired about the contents of a couple of dishes, we asked if the meals contained onions, to which we were told they didn 't know the ingredients of the dishes. We asked them to check the chef and they didn 't know either. They said it 's all pre prepared and just shrugged. So we aim to order what could be best predicted not to contain onions. Cheesy garlic bread for instance , 10 mins later, I 'm served a dark coloured garlic bread. We try to find staff eventually we get someone to come over and ask what has been served, a cheese and balsamic onion garlic bread , and the manager stated I thought it was ' just you with the issue '. Honestly everything was too much bother, she was fed up when talking, huffing and thrusting a card machine at the end of the meal. No thank you nothing. Mistakes happen fine Mistakes with allergies can be fatal at least apologize. Customer service can go a long way to setting the scene. Dietary restrictions: Food is pre prepared and staff have little to no knowledge about the food they are serving. They didnt ask about allergies as per policy and when offered this information made to feel it was an us issue. They may be aware of common allergies I cannot comment) but beyond this they didn 't want to know. Wheelchair accessibility: There is only a step entry into the restaurant, so not accessible unless you could pull yourself up the step, the restaurant is quite roomy inside for maneuvering."

"Worst things first: I think the service could have been a bit better as the waiters weren't so attentive. It was quite difficult to get their attention. Also I asked for lukewarm water as my wife was ill and we were still served chilled water. I asked for the bill to come with the card reader as we were in a rush and the bill still came alone and we had to ask for the card reader again. Other than this the ambience is really really nice. You get a nice view of Canary wharf and although the pillars block the view a bit, I guess those are required to hold the building up haha so it is what it is. Really nice view which every table can appreciate, beautiful interior design my wife referred to it as having a homely feel. I would definitely come back during the day as Im sure it would like marvellous with the sun coming through the full length windows how much better at sunset!! The food was exquisite too. I had eaten beforehand so didn't eat much: just squid rings and the bread selections. Its small but it goes a long way when restaurants heat up the butter so its soft and spreadable on nice warm and soft bread. The squid rings were good too, not too rubbery like many are these days. My wife had a bit more: the cod on mash with caviar (or just roe, not sure) and fries. The fries were so so nice, perfectly salted and fried. The cod and mash was DIVINEEE. Every bite that I stole from her was eye shut inducing. Perfectly cooked cod that tasted like it came from the sea that very morning, one of the creamiest mashed potatoes I've had in a while and then the caviar/roe to add a certain texture to the after taste. Superb. Excellent restaurant, would definitely recommend and not too bad a price as well considering the high class interior and prime location in Canary Wharf."
