"The setting and waitresses were very nice and friendly and covid restrictions were respected. The menu was very large, and there was a separate vegan menu, with 4 main dishes and 3 puddings. Unfortunately the only vegan starter is olives and they are unable to provide chips or fries as they’re cooked in the same place as non-vegan things (yet are somehow vegetarian). The mains were delicious, but very small! Particularly the roasted cauliflower wedge which was 1/3rd of a cauliflower on about a tablespoon of hummus with some salad leaves. I can’t fault the taste, but after just that and no starter I was still very hungry. The desserts were much bigger and very nice. They had a chocolate billionaires bar and a polenta cake on the vegan menu, but there was also crumble with custard on the main menu. Updated from previous review on 2021-06-04"

I had made reservations and organized everything, but I received a phone call saying there was a mistake and they could not seat us. This was very disappointing.

My nut loaf main cost £16 and consisted of a small loaf, 1 carrot, 1 parsnip, 2 small tenderstem broccoli spears, a scattering of red cabbage, and some pureed sweet potato. It was beautifully cooked and really tasty but a meat eater in my party got an enormous, filling roast dinner for the same price. Very annoying! View menu

Nice to find a separate vegan menu, very nice location. Service was hit and miss (I appreciate they were busy). It’s on the pricer side I would say for a pub lunch, especially when having to buy a side with the main meal (only vegan listed side was vegetables). I had a spiced cauliflower tart and it was very nice, also had the crumble at the dessert which was lovely. Will look to go back when in the area.

Decor is gorgeous! Beautiful country pub/ restaurant by a cute little stream in a stunning little village! I had oyster mushrooms for my starter which were really nice, the tomato and almond bake which was also quite nice and the apple crumble and vegan ice cream which was to die for, I’d go back just for the dessert!! Quite a large vegan menu, a couple of the mains were quite similar could do with a vegan pasta dish or pizza dish, that would make it even better! Over all lovely place that I will definitely be coming to again! Staff were all lovely too!

"I booked originally for 6pm and had to change to 6:30pm due to traffic. I hadn’t confirmed The new booking so the host could not find a booking for us. It was my father’s birthday and I was really worried I had messed it up. The host, was fine and was still able to get us seated, we were very pleased with that. We were given a choice of tables, and as a larger guest, I was able to be seated comfortably. We’re we’re served by Tom. S ,for the evening. OMG! What a charming and delightful waiter. He was attentive, had great banter and held a wonderful conversation, wished my father a happy birthday, and tended to my wine being filled up all evening. He made us feel wonderful, and made me feel like a million dollars. The food was absolutely superb, French onion soup was perfectly seasoned, the croutons were Devine along with a salty cheese. Loaded with sweet onions: The liver parfait my husband had was delicious he said. My dad and husband had the beef bourguignon, and I had the chicken, gratin with a side of dauphinois potatoes… Again… absolutely perfect. The service here was top notch, and Tom.S made our first experience at Côte the best. He is a first class waiter, that I would compare to the the likes of The Ritz and The Savoy. Fantastic personality, and very well groomed and presented. What a fabulous and marvellous team member you have there. Cherish that! We will definitely return, and recommend this restaurant highly. 5 Service from Tom.S and the chef."
