"The food was superb, as you 'd expect from a chef of this calibre. However that is where the 'wow ' dining experience ended. I 've not been before to Simpsons, but have eaten at other Michelin starred restaurants. On arrival we were greeted by the wonderful concierge who we couldn 't fault for professionalism. We were told our table was ready but we could have drinks in the lounge first if we 'd like. The 'lounge ' area, if you could really call it that was cold, sterile and reminded my wife an I, of sitting in an NHS dentist waiting room. Worn floors and scuffed skirting, totally lacking in any sort of atmosphere or 'theatre ' befitting somewhere that I was about to spend upwards of £100 per head on dinner. Drinks were served and were delicious. We decided to be taken into the restaurant due to the unwelcoming atmosphere in the lounge area. I was expecting great things, but yet again was seriously disappointed. It took us some time to work out what it was about the dining area that jarred, and didn 't work. The awful colour scheme, the lacklustre tables and clinical, although comfortable, chairs. And then we worked it out. It had the same feel and ambiance of the foyer area of the Core theatre in Solihull, the sort of place you would spend as little time as possible waiting for the intermission to be over. From the glaring, cold lighting in a 1990 's style, the pine beams reminiscent of functional expansive opera house ceilings, the totally lack of heating! I have had the pleasure of dining in a huge variety and style of eateries, and this was by far one of the oddest places. To spend no small amount of money on a meal should be an experience, to delight all the senses, and the food element of this was exquisite, but that is unfortunately where the experience ended, having the feel and atmosphere of a school canteen rather than a Michelin Starred restaurant of some renown. The waiting staff were attentive and professional from beginning to end. However could have been a little more 'polished ' in the finer details. Spilling the wine down my wife 's glass, splashing sauce on the table cloth. These may seem like minor grumbles, but were I wearing a very expensive suit, these would definitely not have been. "Delightful Dotties! I went to this amazing Tea House in Carshalton today at 3:30. I think this Tea House is an up and coming one, it was absolutely lovely and so much better than I imagined. The staff were absolutely brilliant, the customer service was definitely a cut above. The waitress noticing we were struggling with making a decision started to help us narrow down our options by asking questions like hot or cold and when we got near a choice she made a recommendation. She was so friendly and clearly enjoyed working where she was as did the other genuinely smiley staff. The food was great. We had scones, tea (a special herbal blend), a cappuccino and a lemon drizzle cake. The cake and scones were light, fluffy and full of flavour. My tea was bursting with flavour. Presentation of our food wasn't novel, there are many vintage tea shops presenting baked goods on china. However, we did see presentation of other food, such as their avocado on toast which weirdly had a really playful vibe to it. The overall feel of the place was a 10/10 for me, it was well styled and there was a huge attention to detail evident. Love has been poured into the place from the well chose decor to the fab vintage vibe playlist you just cant help sing along to. The staff have obviously been chosen for their ability to add to the vibe of the place, all seemingly playful, smiley, energetic and knowledgeable about the food. I utterly loved it! Special thanks to our smiley waitress today and hats off to your customer service skills."

"I would book a restaurant/ticket package that combines a ticket to exhibit with a three-course lunch. ende 2013 was the restaurant with a significant renovation that lasted three months. I had not visited the old restaurant, but apparently the redesign was to make the restaurant inviting for visitors. it now has an open kitchen and a laundry switch in the center of the restaurant and is operated by benugo. although there is an à la carte menu, our package included a Colombian inspired lunch from a set menu. we chose drinks as we chose our Colombian inspired dishes. for each cure there were three possibilities. as an appetizer, I decided for the bark carpaccio, shaved fennel, capp and petersilie salat. while my friend chose the suppe. there should be avocado soup after the menu, but apparently there was no such that there was a decided less Colombian tomatensuppet. I tried something and it was delicious. for our head, my friend chose the brathake, tender broccoli, becher and petersilie butter. they were not, however, out of the seaweed, so that instead it was cajau, i.e. a slight substitution. he thought it was nice for a simple court. I chose the stolen sirloin steak, chimichurri and yucca chips. only, they had no sirloin, so it was rump. we really haven't met a good day for substitutions. I'm not sure what Yucca chips are, but they were Bog standard chips. it was nice, but a pretty standard steak and chips. dessert was where I couldn't make my understanding what to have, I was easy to tear between the roast ananas carpaccio and coconut ice cream and the churros. my friend was more decisive and decided to make the plant and apple crumbs with cream anglaise. After I had a carpaccio, I decided for the churros with chili chocolate sauce. have they ever eat, that is really hot when served, but they can not wait to dig, so that they burn at the end they are their mouth or fingering because they simply cannot wait? the churros were eating for me. they cook hot, but I just couldn't wait until I'm burrowing into the chili chocolate sauce. I was not too sure what I should expect from the chili chocolate sauce, but it tasted mostly only chocolate that was different that there was a residual heat and deep to it from the chili. delicious, although I needed some help with the churros (it was five,)! so we have divided it into twists to dip into the small pot of the chocolate. I loved the idea of combining an exhibition with eating inspired by the themes of exhibition. that is a definitive idea that should be taken up elsewhere."
