"We have always loved this restaurant but visited this weekend and we were disappointed with both service and meals. We arrived promptly were sat by waiter. No glasses on table, it’s a byob we asked for these. Waited patiently for ten minutes or so and requested again as we ordered food. Waited patiently again, no glasses but pickle tray poppadoms delivered. Requested for third time and although waiter was polite there was no urgency to his service (we were the only people in the restaurant so wasn’t run off his feet). Must mention the pickle tray was delicious great value for cost. Food arrived and curries were nice although nothing special and not as good as previous visits and chicken was sparse and over cooked. Naan bread was awful, looked like the supermarket basic range. Really disappointing as this was done so well before. Lots of food left and presented with bill without requesting it before we’d actually decided we’d finished eating. By this time there were 3 tables of 2 in the restaurant. Not sure the rush to get us out. On the whole an utterly underwhelming night. Basic food and basic service although reasonably priced, especially for town. We have had great meals here in the past but I’m not quite sure we’d rush back, whatever they have changed isn’t quite working."

"I waited in the waiting area for what felt like an eternity, and the service was incredibly disappointing. The staff asked me about the offer at least ten times, and they repeatedly requested my email confirmation—around eight times—before we were finally seated. When it came time to pay, I nearly told them I didn't care about it since I was already prepared to spend a good amount. Honestly, there was no sign of good customer service at all. We truly regret choosing this restaurant."

"We just called in for a drink, you order at the counter and bring them to the table yourself, my Brother and his partner both had Latte's, i had a Mocha, when my brothers partner got to the table she told me which was mine, or which should have been mine, but they all looked the same, and all tasted the same, which was a shame as i was looking forward to the Mocha, plus the Latte's didn't taste like Latte's either. it was only looking at other reviews on here that i found out the staff are volunteers, they could do with a bit of training for the differant coffee's on offer. apart from that, the place is nice and clean, and the staff seem very friendly"

"We called in on a Sunday evening while visiting Shrewsbury overnight. We were greeted by very friendly, polite staff on entering the restaurant. The place was absolutely spotless and well lit. We ordered, poppadoms, starters and balti curries, all of the food was presented beautifully, ample portions and amazing flavours. All in all, a beautiful experience, a must for us on our next visit to Shrewsbury. Thank You Avatar... Your staff are beautiful people."

"I have never given a one-star review to a restaurant before, and I am usually skeptical of those who do. However, the service at this restaurant was so poor that we ended up leaving without even eating. We were seated promptly and given menus, but then we were completely ignored for 40 minutes with no one even taking our drink orders. Another party went in to complain during this time, and the table next to us received the wrong bill. Eventually, my husband had to go in and politely ask if our order could be taken. We placed our order, including drinks, but nothing ever arrived. I tried to get the attention of the waitress to no avail. After another 15 minutes, a young man came over and asked if we wanted to place our order again, as there was no record of it. Feeling frustrated and hungry, we decided to leave as we didn't want to wait another hour for our food. I'm sure the food would have been good, but the front-of-house organization at this restaurant needs serious improvement."

"I was only in the area for the day for a hospital appointment, but decided to stop by this amazing restaurant for breakfast before my appointment. We ordered the big breakfast because we hadn't eaten before leaving Hampshire. We were not disappointed. The bar staff were very friendly and polite, as were the other patrons. Ordering through the app was quick and efficient, and our huge breakfasts arrived in no time. The food was absolutely delicious. They also offered free refills of tea and coffee, and the coffee was amazing. I would definitely return if I have another hospital appointment in the future."

"Have been visiting the Wortley Arms on and off for quite a long time, but hadn't visited for about 3 years for various reasons until a recent unexpected visit. Not sure why we hadn't visited for a while (aside from kids/dogs and probably lockdown), but our recent couple of lunches were excellent. The restaurant seems to be continuing and developing its legacy of producing a high quality menu that caters for many tastes and wallets, ranging from it's excellent sandwich range and pub classics, to high quality and imaginative contemporary and classic style restaurant dishes. Excellent beers and wines, and consistently lovely service as well. Pleased to see the restaurant has progressed to what seems like new management without losing the ethos of the place, and will definitely be back more regularly as this is one of the most pleasant and consistently good places to eat for any occasion."

"This was a last minute decision, after doing a quick google review search we thought this would be worth while based on the rave reviews. Either these are paid reviews or these are the same kind of people that think a ‘chicken korma’ is authentic Indian or your Chinese from the chippy is your authentic Cantonese. The decor is beautiful, the staff are very friendly but are ill equipped, our order was taken then wasn’t given to the kitchen for 15 minutes. Another waiter came and took our order again But anyway, that’s all just white noise, the review is for the food. I want to start this by how I intend to end it. We left most of the food to give to our cat, and to be honest, she wasn’t even that keen either. The lamb Tagine tasted of turmeric. There was nothing more to it. The beef was incredibly well cooked. But just turmeric. I can’t express how weird the sensation is of putting meat, raisins, Seeds, sauce and it all tasting of nothing but turmeric. It was pretty pointless having a meat dish because you could of poured the flavour over bread and not been able to tell the difference. The lamb kofte was dry. It just tasted of parsley and some other spices that didn’t mix well. I don’t even want to discuss. It still upsets me. Won’t ever go back even if it was free. I get more of burst of serotonin from the thought of a Big Mac then the thought of eating this food again"

"The Caesar salad with halloumi was delicious. The water was infused with some sort of fresh herbs which was a surprise, as it was tap water, and was free, but it was very refreshing. The service was top notch. The staff was very attentive and kind. The atmosphere were calming and relaxing, I almost felt like I was doing mindful eating. I cannot find one fault with this restaurant. I will be coming back to try different things on the menu. I would for sure recommend this restaurant."

"What a find this restaurant is, it is simply remarkable. Firstly its a BYO restaurant (bring your own bottle, if you want to drink alcohol , that of course is appealing but it is the service and of course the food that is the star. Sabri the owner is the perfect host, warm, funny and nothing is too much trouble. He and his staff really go out of the way to make you feel at home and to help you with your meal choice. The food itself is wonderful, I went twice in 2 weeks with different friends and everyone said the same. Mouthwatering, amazing food. If you are bringing your own alcohol, Sabri and his staff will provide you with a wine cooler if you need one. The restaurant closes at around 10pm but during the whole evening you are never rushed with anything. I will definitely be going back with more friends in 2024 and can't wait. Well done Sabri and his team. Simply astounding."

"My family and I had a wonderful evening here. The bar has to be set pretty high for a UK Indian restaurant to be worthy of a 5 star review but India Dining deserves it. Lovely food (I had a particularly good lamb shank), attentive staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Seated towards the back of the restaurant the music was too loud (it was an acceptable level elsewhere). I politely asked for it to be turned down. They happily did this immediately and then twice came to check if we were happy. All in all, thoroughly recommended. Enjoy."

"My first visit recently was on a Friday evening and the restaurant was full and very noisy. This is my only reason for not awarding five stars. The food was excellent and my friend, who made different menu choices, fully agreed. The service was friendly and quick but not rushed so we could enjoy a leisurely meal. The only drawback was the noise level, which increased the longer we were there and made it difficult to hear ourselves talk. I'll look forward to going again on an evening that is less likely to have large post-work groups."
