Super little village pub with friendly efficient staff, very good service. An uncomplicated dinner menu but all apparently locally produced and freshly prepared. Good range of proper beers. Definitely don’t think twice.

We love this restaurant but have never had Sunday Lunch here before. We ate here today with friends and the Lunch was lovely. I had Roast Beef and my wife had the Lamb. Everything about our experience was first class. The meat and vegetables were excellent and the Yorkshire Pudding was perfect. The service from the Staff was great too. We were seated in a room out of the main bar area which granted us a nice quiet, relaxing experience. Drink and food were served quickly after being ordered. Everyone in our party of 6 opted for a Sunday roast. All three meat options of beef, lamb chicken were selected and served amongst the 6 of us. No complaints at all. Generous servings and all well cooked. Desserts were very good too.

We nipped in for a quick drink after a walk through the lovely village of Wortley and ended up having one of the nicest meals we've had in a long time. The staff are very friendly , welcoming and professional. We sat outside to eat so did not experience the restaurant atmosphere but it had a nice feel to it when we first arrived. All the tables were reserved inside so obviously very popular therefore I would recommend you prebook, would 100% recommend a visit.

We booked for a Sunday lunch. The meal was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. They brought is a steak knife for the beef , which was not needed as it was so tender. The waiting staff were very pleasant and attentive. We were recommended the Guinness cake dessert and it lived up to the praise it was given. A very cosy ,busy establishment, but at no stage were we rushed. Parking to the rear( entrance to carpark on a blind bend) Great experience,fantastic food and service at reasonable prices. Lovely wedding venue, the grounds are beautifully kept, ideal for stunning photos. The main function rooms had a grand stately home feel about them, all adding to the couple's special day. Attention to detail was very obvious, covers on chairs, floating candles in beautiful glass jars, very friendly attentive staff....... The meal was really delicious, the food hot and beautifully presented. Our bedroom was clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was an extensive buffet of both hot and cold choices as well as savoury and sweet catering for all tastes. We were guests of the daughter of a close friend's wedding, altogether a perfect day at the perfect venue.

Had forgotten about this pub having only been once before..mbut had an appointment in the area in the afternoon so thought would visit for lunch. Amazing food and incredible value for money... Why can 't all pub food be this good? Shared the fishcake starter, really tasty.. then I had the chicken. Don 't often risk chicken when eating out as so many overcook it, or it can be bland.. but was tempted by the thigh being stuffed with liver and fennel... Wow! the breast was succulent and tasty too, and loved the accompanying broad beans and spinach.. Finished with sharing a huge portion of rice pudding topped with caramelized pear and walnuts.. Have been visiting the Wortley Arms on and off for quite a long time, but hadn't visited for about 3 years for various reasons until a recent unexpected visit. Not sure why we hadn't visited for a while (aside from kids/dogs and probably lockdown), but our recent couple of lunches were excellent. The restaurant seems to be continuing and developing its legacy of producing a high quality menu that caters for many tastes and wallets, ranging from it's excellent sandwich range and pub classics, to high quality and imaginative contemporary and classic style restaurant dishes.
