"I made a reservation for afternoon tea through OpenTable and when I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that they had stopped serving afternoon tea there months ago. This was not the first time this mistake had happened. The staff were nice and friendly, but it was disappointing that OpenTable had inaccurate information. I am hesitant to use this service again as it is unclear if other mistakes are being made."

"fodmap friendly restaurant! the menu is full of garlic and wobble free, which was good to find. Although the items provided with gluten were not specifically marked, we could tell the personal what was suitable and if possible left the bread pieces on the side, so that both I and the rest of the table could enjoy it. we had a one-pot that was absolutely delicious and tried several of the cheese. it was so pleasant to go to a restaurant where we could order several dishes for the table and I could eat 80% of what we had ordered. I do not think that most of the foods in themselves was excellent, but for everyone on the fodmap diet (although obviously there is quite a lot of lactose if they want to go for the main attraction when they ate meat, I still think they would be good.) the staff was attentive, friendly and very careful to make it clear what I could/can not eat. a great meal with tellers for 5, with two beers, two soft drinks, 5 little gloomy and a coffee came to about £150, so I don't think that's too bad at all. I would like to see some gluten-free brot though! wheelchair access: a small step into the restaurant that was perfectly manageable in a high chair, tables are good for driving under, but the toilet is above."

"We arrived on time. Firstly was told we didn’t have a booking though showed our booking confirmation via email sent. Our main course arrived before the starter! Feel it was placed on a hot plate whilst we had our stater. Monk fish was very salty and presentation very poor. I had visited this restaurant about 6 years ago and remember it being fantastic, sadly not this time. Would not recommend. Staff not great. Wish I could give better feedback."

"Hello to the team who were working today. This is just to say a big THANK YOU for the lovely lunch and service we received today whilst celebrating my parents 66th Wedding Anniversary. The food was delicious, my mother hasn't eaten a 3 course meal for about 2 years, she did today! (My sea bass was lovely...and the sauce! It was a great surprise and a delightful touch to have their desserts served on a specially decorated platter, thank you so much, the perfect end to a lovely meal. I must also add that the staff couldn't have been more kind and helpful, we moved table, took ages to make decisions, we never felt rushed and always felt looked after. "We visited the Apex Hotel in Glasgow and were enticed by the menu on offer. The service from the staff was outstanding; they were friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We did encounter a small issue when one of our dishes was prepared incorrectly, but the staff handled the situation well and offered us a discount as compensation. "We came here on a bit of a whim, owing to its central location right next to the Baths. Having not booked we were greeted warmly and offered a table near the stage. It was wonderful to be able to hear the musicians so well but it wasn’t so loud as to be overly distracting and we were still able to converse and enjoy our afternoon tea with this accompaniment. The room itself deserves comment too- absolutely beautiful, it feels like a decidedly appropriate setting for a grand afternoon tea. The food itself was delicious. Sandwiches, savouries and cakes were almost perfect and you could taste their quality. When you’re presented with an afternoon tea it always feels you’re being ripped off, as though there is very little food for your money but, as ever, it was very filling and just the right amount of food. The quality and attention to detail further justifies the price for me. After our warm welcome the service deteriorated a little as well. It was nigh impossible to get a second pot of tea/ some hot water and when I did manage to ask it was treated almost as an imposition. It also took us an age to be able to pay the bill- although I could have happily sat in that splendour all afternoon."

"Booked to eat at Silk Room after reading some positive reviews and reading the menu and liking the look of it. Arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday night to find only 1 other table filled which was slightly worrying to begin with. The food was Wetherspoons quality at higher class prices. One of the waiters whose name I didn't catch was fantastic for the latter half of our time there, however the other member of staff who served us for the majority of the time from the beginning stood behind the bar on his phone, not really paying attention to anything around him. We weren't offered any drinks after our first and after calling him over to ask for some, he brought them and left all the original empty glasses on the table. Just very shoddy and such a shame as it has the potential to be fantastic."

"It wasn't a great start when we weren't offered a childrens menu for our daughter, when we asked if they had one we were asked her age, she was sat at the table with us and they could clearly see she was of young age. once we ordered it had been 15-20 mins and our drinks hadnt arrived, when we chased it up they hadn't even put the water through. Daughters juice wasn't even chilled and no ice with it. The wine eventually arrived after the starters. No one really asked how the food was, scallops and soup for starter were ok, I has the seafood linguine for main, i can only describe it as too much tomato and lacked any seasoning. They then included £20 service charge, we have no issue with paying it normally if we have received good service, however we asked for it to be taken off considering there was no decent service for the whole meal."

"We had an excellent meal here on a Friday night with our two small children. Service was excellent, and noticeably different to many local places. Our waiter was really efficient, but was kept very busy as the place was rammed by the time we were eating our mains. My daughter’s burger was a bit overcooked so she left half of it. Mine was well done, as I’d asked it to be. Felt like good value vs local options, and the back dining room was lovely. Will definitely return."

"We dined at the MC Cafe Bar Grill Manchester, good selection of meals. Although they have discontued the Mixed Grill that I had had on a previous visit. As it was lunch my husband had the chicken burger, which looked nice and he liked the chips. I had salmon en crout, but did not like the spinich it came with, the salmon was well cooked, it was accompanied by seasonal vegitables and new potatoes. Sevice on the slow side in fact we waited nearly an hour for our meal. But they were very busy."

"On my second visit to this restaurant, I found myself cramped at a table despite requesting a specific one that remained empty. I had also asked for extra potatoes and fewer parsnips, but received the opposite - three potatoes and an overwhelming amount of parsnips. The wine was also priced much higher than expected. While these issues were eventually resolved after I complained, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service. The Sunday roast is expensive, but worth it when done properly. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it fell short of expectations due to the mishaps."

"Was the second time I had eaten here but had a lovely Sunday meal here last Sunday courtesy of Flatmate. Butcher and Grill (situated on the formersite of Cafe Rouge) occupies a great, imposing site. The Butchers shop welcomes you as you walk in- to the right a lovely array of meat and to the left a delicatessen/grocers selling a selection of organic produce. The split-level open plan restaurant is to the back. A heavily stocked bar located to the left, high ceilings and exposed brick work give the place a sophisticated yet homely feel. Flatmate and I, starving as ever, eyed the menu and decided to forgo the starters (pretty unexciting) and dive into the mains to stop ourselves drooling onto the table. We excitedly ordered plates of the rib eye steak. Sides as do the sauces, come separately so we ordered some green beans, mash, dauphinoise potatoes, mushrooms and green peppercorn and red wine sauces.Before I was about to chew Flatmates arm off it all came thick and fast and we were very excited. Meat looked good, potatoes looked good. Veg looked ok but mushrooms a side does not make. HmmmmAmyway, it was great. We loved the organic rib eye fantastic and flavoursome though a touch overdone. Nevermind we said, we were too hungry to care and i was upset when the last mouthful had gone. Flatmate pushed the boat out and ordered us puddings cheesecake and an apple thingy. In preparation, we had to unbutton the top of our jeans to make room. Can't remember but i think they were nice the steak just keeps coming back to me steak cheesecake? steak apple thingy? Not sure how much it all came up to as lovely Flatmate paid (thanks Nic). But it was a great hearty, winters meal perfect for a cold Sunday afternoon. P.S. The first time I came here I came with my Dad who wanted to order off the menu so we wandered down to the Butchers and he got the Butcher to cut him a hefty slab of rib eye must have weighed about a pound! Seriously my dad was eating long after mum and I had finished but he eventually did I was so proud and he was happily full!"

"Visited for dinner on 22 Dec and was underwhelmed by the experience. The menu and food were passable but not exceptional by any standards. The staff were courteous but lacked any empathetic skills, going through the motions like disinterested drones. Noise levels were obtrusive on this occasion but I put that down to a large group of diners with young children, who were not making any attempt to keep the children quiet. "Cons: There were a few instances during food service where the bar was unattended, leaving guests waiting for drinks while food was being served or barrels were being changed. I had to use my phone for music, which would have been fine if I had known in advance so I could have prepared playlists to avoid guests taking over the music selection. At the end of the night, some employees felt the closing was rushed, and I would have expected a better gin selection for a place called the Gin Parlour (only two options available). Despite these issues, they can be easily addressed, and I would definitely book this place again for a business networking event. Florencia is a valuable asset to this pub."

"had a cup of tea from here gave me a lot of energy, but was a bit too sweet for my pleasure. admittedly I put ten sugars in myself, but that was not meant. when I went down the road and went out on the curb. tee on the floor, cup on the floor, strange laugh about me if I had a wet it had been a stubborn experience, but I like to think about me as a dazzling chappy. as my one once said: “No point crying over the Spilt tea,” my nan was autistic. but yes, I'm sorry to whisper on my nann, said: "I could speak for English" uh there I am jabbering again, apologise. "phenomonal. a fantastic addition to george street. on the other day for lunch and pleasant surprise. first, the decor is beautiful, with a unique taste that is so refreshing that when combined with the atmosphere is beautiful. there are many sitting options and my favourite choice is the sitting area on the back where the mirror together with the top light really brighten the room and they just want to sit there all day with a drink. regarding the drinks there is a lot to choose from cocktails, to spirituous wine, which are all reasonable prices. the lunch menu followed with brilliant worth, and I must say that eating was delicious. I had a few burgers in my time *pats darm * but that was the most beautiful thing I had. I also admired that the lunch menu didn’t bomb them with 100’s of the choices, it was simple and straight, as I tend to find a lot of places at lunchtime attacked them with millions of choices and it will be exhausting. Finally, the employees are charming, attentive and incredibly polite. overall brilliant value and brilliant quality. it was a fantastic brasserie and I will be there in the future to taste their dinner menu. I highly recommend to go!"

"I made a reservation for Sunday brunch, not realizing that the restaurant had changed ownership. Upon entering, there was a noticeable lack of atmosphere in the foyer, with no cloakroom staff or concierge as there had been before. The staff were friendly and eager to please, and the food was good. However, we were informed that the Sunday brunch had been cancelled on occasion due to low bookings, and were advised to call ahead in the future to confirm availability. It was disappointing to see the staff working hard while facing a lack of returning customers. The price was not cheap (£45 for adults, £22.50 for kids) and the restaurant was missing its usual buzz and atmosphere."

"Aubaine is by far the best place for you to catch up over good food, nice service and enjoyable ambience, especially the branch located at High str Kensington. We were welcomed warmly and directed to a seat next to the window paving to the street view. I ordered a croque monsieur which was divine (could've gone for a second one..but calories!! and some tea. The service was impeccable, the clientele posh and the ambience enjoyable. I would recommend this french restaurant for anyone in the neighborhood (even Aubaine in any other part of London . Can't wait to try out some of the other yummy dishes on their menu. Very much recommended!"
