"I went here with a friend to catch me. we were greeted by a friendly waitress who took our food order. we ordered a sirloin steak and the chicken and pancetta cake. the steak (15.99) was served with a tiny tomaten, 2 barely fried tweebel rings, lamb salad and some chips. she asked for tomato sauce and we didn't get any. I think for this price, regardless of whether they have sauce or not, is very much over price for what they get. No one came by to ask how it was eating. the chicken cake was beautiful with the strange pieces of dodgy looking chicken pieces. for dessert we had a banana pee that did not see much on it and had too thick of a basic on it. the sticky toffee pudding but was delicious with vanilla ice cream. the menu that they see on the website and the menu that they get in the restaurant is something different, so don't look too much in advance, especially on the pages, I don't think we'll be back soon as it's just not as beautiful as we originally remember that it is."

"The meals were acceptable but nothing extraordinary and definitely not worth the price. This restaurant charges separately for vegetables and doesn't provide extras like bread or items such as olives and balsamic olive oil without an additional cost. We also ordered dessert, all of which were ice creams. After waiting 20 minutes, we decided to cancel the dessert, not wanting to waste any more time. Oddly enough, the desserts then arrived, but the ice cream scoops were melting. To be fair, they did remove the dessert charges from the bill, but this experience has turned us off from this particular Ivy branch. I should mention that the vegetables consisted of untrimmed green beans and lukewarm broccoli. Overall, the entire meal took just under three hours. Despite there being plenty of waiting staff, it seemed like the kitchen struggled with mixing up or delaying orders, even at our table. I was not impressed."

"love, love, love this place for so many reasons! friendly and helpful staff. clean and tidy and just love the quirky atmosphere. we had the huge crumb with cheese, which is simply delicious, its what we have set up! beautiful, freshly cooked...crease and tasty cheese, right on the february afternoon. but this place is so much more than a fabulous place to eat. the load to which it is attached is also only an amazing place. If they are looking for an unusual gift, it is quite possible that they find something favorable and unique here."

"Booked a table for Sunday lunch, arrived to a small table by the toilets. Half the pub is jolly families out for lunch, the other half is dead eyed old geezers staring into an afternoon pint. We were in the old geezer half. We ordered roast lamb £17 each) and then waited, and waited... and waited. We gave it about an hour before asking when our food would arrive, the stressed waiter explained that they were very busy but that it wouldn't be long. We waited another 45 mins before asking again at the bar no one updated us as to what was going on). The lady behind the bar said that our food would be 6 minutes... While we waited for another 15 minutes someone on the table next to us was making a complaint about the portions being very small and the food not being good. The waiting staff didn't know what to say to her. Alarm bells were ringing that when our food arrived it was not going to be good. When the plates eventually turned up they were very small portions, a single piece of meat and a small pile of vegetables. A normal sized Yorkshire pudding was about 3/4 of the total meal. We decided that we had reached the end of our patience and decided to reject the food and leave the pub, thankfully we hadn't paid yet and so didn't have to go through the fuss of a refund. The staff were apologetic once we decided to leave, but it was too little too late. I felt sorry for them because management had obviously hung them out to dry with not enough staff and not enough food to go round."

"We went here on a 'Gift ideas for two ' ' voucher (strange scheme, but that is another story) which gives you the 'tasting menu ', a selection of their normal menu for £60 though the pub only gets £49. I suspect the only takers of the tasting menu are people using vouchers, and to be honest we would have preferred just to have a proper starter and a main course each of our choice. So we had 9 mini meals plus 6 mini desserts all were good, and our favourites were the crab fishcakes bursting with flavour. The voucher did not cover drinks cost, we had a nice bottle of red wine for only £11.50 excellent value! The restaurant is a converted bar, and lacks atmosphere, especially as there was only one other couple in all night also on a voucher tasting menu. You would have more fun eating in the bar area, which seemed to have a lively atmosphere with a darts match going on. Service was good all night. The voucher scheme and the tasting menu may give the impression of a 'fine dining ' establishment, but in reality this is a country pub with good pub food and if you are paying for it yourself at very reasonable prices."

"We visited as a small family booking for a mid afternoon Sunday lunch. The establishment was about halfway full, with a large party being looked after in a function room close to the entrance, which to me seemed promising. The host was pleasant and very efficient, and the waitress taking our orders was also very efficient and friendly. We ordered three roast dinners which came quite quickly we only waited about 10 15 minutes. The roast itself was set out in such a way where the meat and potatoes were served on your plate, and vegetables and the gravy boat came separately so you could plate up to your liking. I’m not fussed one way or the other when it comes to how the food is served, as long as it was simple enough, which it was. I have the rump of beef, and it was lovely and soft, nicely cooked and very tasty. The Yorkshires were thick and crispy, and the roast potatoes tasted very fresh, and made me wonder if the produce was sourced locally. One particular item that stands out in my experience is that you get a good sized pig in blanket included in your Sunday roast, with most other restaurants charging extra for this. Needless to say it was also very tasty. Would definitely recommend, we had a lovely visit with lovely food and hope to be back soon."

"My husband and I had a wonderful meal in Ginger on Oct 28th 2023. Both the Manager, Matt and our table server Olivier could not have been more helpful -despite the fact that I had booked the Ginger Restaurant in Arkansas by mistake . After joining us in merriment re my faux pas, Matt assisted by the lovely Olivia ensured we had a thoroughly enjoyable night. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant or Matt and Olivia more highly. The food was exquisite See you soon again"

"We just called in for a drink, you order at the counter and bring them to the table yourself, my Brother and his partner both had Latte's, i had a Mocha, when my brothers partner got to the table she told me which was mine, or which should have been mine, but they all looked the same, and all tasted the same, which was a shame as i was looking forward to the Mocha, plus the Latte's didn't taste like Latte's either. it was only looking at other reviews on here that i found out the staff are volunteers, they could do with a bit of training for the differant coffee's on offer. apart from that, the place is nice and clean, and the staff seem very friendly"

"We dined at a popular pub by the estuary for dinner and were impressed by the lively atmosphere. Despite the busy bar, we were seated at a nice table near the fire and enjoyed fresh and tasty food. I indulged in a delicious starter of crab arancini, followed by a flavorful monkfish and prawn curry. Each dish was well-seasoned, beautifully presented, and satisfying. While everyone in our group was pleased with their meals, the sticky toffee pudding fell short with its lackluster and dense texture. Overall, it was a pleasant experience at a cozy pub with delicious food and welcoming service."

"The Pub is stunning and located in a beautiful area, offering delicious food. However, please be aware that the kitchen has limited operating hours. It is recommended to call ahead and check if they are serving. They also have a fantastic variety of ales and lagers. The average cost per person is between £10-20. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect score of 5. Highly recommended dish: Chips."
"We’ve been to this fantastic pub restaurant many times with friends and family and it never fails to please. Always very busy, but the staff are always polite, professional and efficient. You’re rarely waiting long for anything and, no matter how busy they are, there is usually a couple of table checks to see if you need drinks or anything else. We went here last night with a friend, and we’re going again tomorrow with family (at their request after we took them there for the first time a few weeks ago). Thai food is authentic and excellent (I’ve never had English food there but I’m sure it’s very good) and they always have a couple of real ales on draught too (I can recommend the Wainwrights ale). Highly recommended."

"We visited Bellamy's Bistro 2 weeks ago. If having a meal after 6pm there is parking on the main Street for free. We managed to get an earlier ferry across to the island and after contacting Bellamy's, staff very kindly brought the time of our table forward. Me and one friend had the carbonara and cheesy garlic bread, which was lovely and tasty and my other friend had Bourgenon which she also really enjoyed. The owners were very friendly and were talking to us about how they came to the Isle of Wight. I would definitely recommend."

"Hi, We went there after a long walk in Glennifer Braes. We were all ready for our lunch. The Inn had been recommended as a place to have fiss. h finger burgers... all those who had it said it lived up to its reputation. The mushroom toastada was lovely and presented well. THe genral decor was themed around the highland cows... which made interesting talking point. I would recommend it as the staff were willing to go that slightly extra mile to accommodate dietry needs request. Definitely recommend it. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free street parking"

"This location should, in theory, be 10/10 experience in my opinion.. Wonderful building.. Various parts to it, as in a nice main restaurant, with plenty of seating of varying styles.. A canal right next to it with narrow boats meandering past the location.. So why was our experience dissapointing .? Ok.. Service by staff was hit and miss.. And you can't say there wasn't enough staff on duty on a gorgeous Sunday lunchtime.. In main restaurant.. The marquee extension and seating outside, staff were plentiful.. But if you have staff just twiddling fingers and not watching customers, whether for food and drinks orders,or actually trying to pay the bill at the end of our time there.. Lost count of number of times we asked for our bill please .. Finally , one young lady got the bill.. Then vanished again.. She came back a short time later, and said she has to wait for the card machine.. Seriously, has such a large, well established business only operating a small number of card payment machines that customers have to sit and wait..? After around 10mins, we just got up to walk to one of the various cash till/ screens, dotted around the location.. But here again, we just didn't get served , until a gentleman in a grey polo shirt asked if he could help? Absolutely you can..I said to him.. Can we PLEASE PAY OUR BILL..???? We've been waiting far to long to just pay our bill.. Suddenly a card machine was made available.. Billl paid,we left... The actual cusne was very nice.. Couldn't fault that part of our experience.."

"I frequently visit this pub, whether with friends or just passing through and in the mood for a drink or a snack. The price per person usually ranges from £30 to £40. I rate the food a perfect 5, and the service and atmosphere also receive a 5. Some dishes I highly recommend include the Hamburger, Roast Chicken, Prawn Cocktail, Club Sandwich, Sunday Roast Beef, Mackerel, Sundae, Yorkshire Pudding, Triple Cooked Chips, Southern Fried Vegan Burger with Chips, Tarte Tatin, Rack of Ribs, Pie, Norfolk Chicken Supreme with Truffle, Aguachile, Thai Green Curry, Steak Pie, and the Pie of the Day, as well as the Knickerbocker Glory. Additionally, there’s a free parking lot available."

"Had a fabulous last minute stay at The White Lion. Enjoyed a delicious pizza and a couple of pints in the bar. The staff were all lovely and friendly. My room was large, spotlessly clean and had a big bay window. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. Slept like a log! Currently enjoying a coffee from the Nespresso machine in the room whilst catching up on some paperwork, the Wi-fi works!!!! Price per person: £40–50"
"My friend I went for lunch on Sunday. I am a regular diner at this establishment. Unfortunately our experience yesterday was not a good one. We both ordered Sunday lunch trio with a side of cauliflower cheese. We waited a good 30 minutes for our order then the cauliflower cheese arrived. We sent this back as we didn't yet have our mains and didn't want it to get cold. Our food finally came and then came the cauliflower cheese. Our mains were very nice but the cauliflower was terrible. It was not cooked through was very hard the cheese sauce was almost non existent. We sat with our dirty plates for more than 30 mins before asking for them to be cleared. We were asked if we would like to see the dessert menu. We said we did. After about 15 mins my friend went asked for it at the counter. We could see all of the waiting staff chatting so it wasn't that they were very busy. When our desserts came they were very disappointing. One was ice cream but they had the flavours wrong it had chocolate sauce that was neither asked for or wanted. The other was creme brulee. The was no burnt sugar topping, none. And it wasn't set. It was runny sloppy. We didn't complain because by then we had had enough. We paid the bill, which was £67 left. I certainly won't be taking friends there on a Sunday for lunch again. It was a very disappointing experience."

"Really lovely pub, super cosy and very welcoming. Independently run, the owner was charming and could not do enough. Food was delicious with a capital D! I had the Brioche Benedict, eggs perfectly poached, a very thick slice of ham and covered with most delicious rich, creamy hollandaise. My companion opted for the fish and chips which was so good. Nice chunky portion of fish with a light crispy batter. It came with a curry sauce which was heaven to dip your chips in. Really good quality ingredients and a good chefs make for happy lunching! Oh yes, super dog friendly. Very highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed. We’ll be returning soon."
