"Such a lovely place, I must admit we do prefer this cafe for breakfast over lunch but all in all a really really nice spot. We visited today Sunday 3rd of March 2024 and sat outside with our two dogs, we ordered a sausage hashbrown bun and eggs Benedict with hashbrowns all absolutely delicious and served in record time. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and although my partner isn’t really a breakfast food lover even he kept going on about how nice it was, the hashbrowns were HUGE definitely a hit for both of us. You can see from the picture how lovely my eggs Benedict was. My caramel cappuccino was really good as well, delicious coffee and hot! The surroundings are beautiful and all the staff were welcoming and lovely. Some of the recent reviews that are insulting the new owners are honestly just awful and people should be ashamed of themselves for writing such negative, hurtful things. We said that today was probably our best visit yet, so people just need to calm down and stop being so precious. To take over such a busy, popular business is a huge ordeal and the public should be kinder. You all do a great job and we really enjoyed our visit today, thank you!"

"Oh dear!!! Soup from a Can& Bland Chicken. Landlady Smoking and drinking bottle of Wine in the Snug room next to the Bar, yes we did see you after we had ordered. its more of a locals place where no-one cares if people smoke in there . Think the Owners need to retire and shut up shop. more of a **** Up the Inn. Shame as could be a nice place if cleaned up served home cooked food rather than out of a tin."

"decided to try the Vietnam restaurant in the uplands today. I'm not familiar with Vietnamese food so thought I'd randomly choose some items. I chose kimchi beef lettuce rolls and crack fries, both are starters but are enough for a main. The beef, kimchi, beansprouts were amazing, the complexity of taste and texture was lovely. The crack fries were perfect, they had a beautiful heat and spice to them and were a perfect accompaniment to the kimchi beef rolls. The young man who served me was very polite and attentive and saw to my needs . The decor, omg, everything here is bespoke, gorgeous murals on the walls, amazing lights and atmosphere. I have to say that I'll most definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended. Parking: There is ample street parking nearby with no restrictions after 6pm"

"Waited almost half an hour (26 minutes) for a single fried rice order... Fine, kitchen is busy...but when pay extra to eat in and see tens of takeaway/delivery orders coming out of the kitchen before your order is processed, that is very unacceptable... The rice...was way too salty, but we couldn't be bothered to send it back and risk waiting for another half hour for a new dish Suggestions: 1. Don't charge extra for eat in customers if they are being deprioritised... 2. At least you can warn that the kitchen is busy and estimate the time it will take before one will get their food To be fair, Rasa has been quite good when we visited a long time ago, but we do hope this feedback can help improve the experience they provide for eat in customers"

"OH MY GOODNESS!!! I am sooooooooo full! I have just had an amazing roast dinner from No.32. The soup was sooooo tasty! I’m not normally a soup person but this was lovely and it was free! (There is such a thing as a free lunch! Don’t be lulled by my oversized bowls, there was a good portion. We followed this with the 2 meat option of roast beef and roast lamb as we couldn’t decide between them It was served with roasties, yorkie, cauliflower cheese, Savoy cabbage and carrot and turnip mash. It was all really delicious. Oh don’t forget the gravy! I love my gravy and this was so tasty I could have eaten it on its own with a spoon!! It was gorgeous! I also got a honeycomb cheesecake for dessert but I am that full I can’t even face looking at it to take a photo at the moment! Suffice to say I will be back! Lamb Friday has to be next on my list! Thanks guys xx"

"The large deluxe hot chocolate had more cream than actual hot chocolate, the decaf cappuccino turned out to be just oat milk cappuccino, and the drinks were served oddly staggered and lukewarm. I have been to this restaurant before and had great coffees and hot chocolate, but this time felt a bit disappointed paying £3-4 for a drink that was finished in just two sips. Overall, the food and service were rated a 1, while the atmosphere was a 3."

"I called up the store up yesterday to order business lunch as it was unavailable to do it online. Needed sandwiches platter and sweet platter up to maximum 10 peoples. The manager name (Andzelika of the store I spoke to over the phone dealt with my query and took the orders. Then I wanted to collect the order next day 9am. She manage to deliver everything I asked for to the best standard. It was well made and so tasty. I Just cant believe how good she was and got it ready at such short notice. She was very helpful and kind. Really pleased with the service and will definitely be returning and highly recommend Andzelika (Manager in Pret. Alongside the counter assistant was also friendly too. Thanks again for your help! Much appreciated! :"

"Absolutely delicious food for lunch, myself and some work colleagues ordered food for take away and it did not disappoint. we ordered the Bang Bang Chicken which was fiery but not too spicy and bursting with flavour, the Braised Beef which absolutely melted in our mouths (the best I've tasted in a long while and finally the Lemongrass Chicken which tasted so so fresh and the sauce so fragrant. The service i received inside the restaurant was second to non and had a great conversation with the lovely owner (Dawn who was happy to suggest and explain dishes of the menu. I would definitely recommend Vietnam and will be definitely ordering very soon in the near future. So Vietnam Swansea its a MASSIVE thumbs up from me :"

"We went for dinner last weekend. We had Booked a table so waited for 10 min and then seated on the top floor where it was empty. Within 15 mins all the tables were taken( No social distancing whatsoever) !! Our orders were taken and we waited for an hour and still no food! All the people who arrived after us had almost eaten! So my husband went to ask what’s happening and was told we are very busy! And trying our best! If you can’t wait shrugging is shoulders, The manager who had a pony tail , very rude , goes to the waitress cancel their order, cancel it!! Honestly speaking and not because of their Awful experience I went to the rest room when we got there OMG the smell, flies everywhere! and the condition of the toilets were filthy! That when I got back to my table and saw that they had served complimentary salad I couldn’t bring myself to eat it! In these times of Covid where hygiene levels need to be on top of your priority the restaurant Hygiene was awful. The Manager does not care at all! They only care about quick money! I just wish I had taken photos!!"

"Clean surroundings but it was a warm summer evening and no air conditioning so quite stuffy and humid inside. Reasonable selection of dishes, all fresh and fairly tasty. As far as curries go if you 're a proper foody curry connoisseur you may be disappointed as they werent extra tasty delicious. They tasted like they were batch cooked and wouldnt say bland but not as good as some other places ive been to. Nothing screamed out as amazing. The starters were nice- probably the reshmi kebab was their best option. The tikka passed the test for me enough flavour to not need extra condiments! I can 't be overly critical- it was nice but nothing special. The only real proper negative I 'd have to say is they charge full adult prices for 9 year olds. So if you have small kids who don 't really eat much it -quickly becomes cheaper to go to a normal non buffet restaurant and probably get more 'made to order ' tastier varied food . Whilst the dessert range is limited it was done very well. Good quality ice cream and chocolate cake, fresh Asian desserts- gulabjam, gajar halwa and kheer were all fantastic and freshly made. Also a slightly bizarre drinks choice- the unlimited refills options is limiter to just cola. No idea why it can 't include other soft drinks. Strange. But worth noting that the staff were very friendly attentive and hard working."

"I've been to this restaurant several times for the lunch buffet, and it has always been a delightful experience. The food is served hot, and there is plenty to choose from—I’ve enjoyed trying everything on the buffet. Last night, I celebrated my partner's 60th birthday and had a wonderful meal. The service is top-notch; the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. They are friendly, polite, and great to chat with. I highly recommend this place; I’ve brought family and friends in the past, and they have all loved it too. Definitely a 5-star experience!"

"--- I’ve realized that my previous contribution was more of a review, so here it is: Last night, six of us gathered at The Tipper to celebrate family birthdays and sample the Christmas menu. My advice: book a table now, or you might miss out on some fantastic dishes! The seafood chowder was exquisite, and the terrine and salmon were standout choices. We also tried the slow-cooked beef, which was a hit with everyone! It was tender, flavorful, and melted in the mouth—cooked to absolute perfection with a fantastic balance of taste and texture. The salmon was reportedly beautiful, and the star dessert seemed to be the Eton mess; however, I was particularly fond of the Christmas bread and butter pudding. I could have eaten it multiple times! I must mention the wine list—it was well thought out and reasonably priced. The service was brilliant—fast and personable without being overbearing. Overall, I can't recommend The Tipper enough! Fantastic food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere. What more could you ask for?"

"We had been ordering from New York for 5 years without any issues until a few days ago. Our usual order arrived and it was open, with poor quality food that was clumpy and tasted old. The crispy bark was obviously boiled and pale, the noodles were not fresh, and the sweet and sour dish looked completely different from normal. The only dish that looked normal and edible was the curry chicken. When we complained to the owner, he only offered a 10% discount on our next order, which was unacceptable considering we had spent over £25 and he expected us to only save around £2.50. The customer service was terrible and there was a lack of care for loyal customers. Unfortunately, after eating the chicken from New York, we got food poisoning. We will never order from there again and suggest others to go elsewhere, as the quality has significantly dropped. I regret spending money at this establishment for years when there are better options to support."

"Been here many a time and food always been good. Today, Steak pie and the chips were very dry and did not enjoy. My biggest gripe today is the young waitress chewing her gum, not hiding the fact she had gum in mouth but while taking our order blatantly eating the gum with mouth open. Not only us that noticed but folks at next table were also talking about her. Highly unprofessional!!! Friends daughter works in a different establishment at weekends doing lunches and chewing gum is a big no no! Come on Jackie get tough with your staff, who wants her breathing over their food while she’s chewing her gum"

"Earlier this week, my friend and I went to this restaurant for lunch and had a really excellent experience. I ordered the Brie, cranberry, and bacon sandwich on granary bread, which was amazing. The sandwich was full of filling and the bacon was the best I've had in a long time. My friend ordered the tuna mayonnaise with sweetcorn sandwich, which was also delicious. It came with a side salad and coleslaw, though we weren't as fond of the coleslaw. The coffee at Smooth is always fantastic, and between the two of us, we tried the spiced pumpkin latte, americano, flat white, and cappuccino. Although we didn't have room for dessert this time, we have tried the cakes on other visits and they are always delicious. The atmosphere at the restaurant is great and the staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend this place!"

"As a once a year visitors our custom won't be missed but I believe in a honest review whether good, bad or indifferent.. Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review in the hope the publican takes note. This is our annual visit on the way to paying our Christmas wishes to those family members who are no longer with us and reside in local cemeteries. We have been coming to the Flying Childers for the last ten years as a tradiition on our visits to Derbyshire. We arrived only 45 minutes after opening time to order drinks and food. We chose our fayre and went to order. From our two person choices, no mulled wine (it's Christmas!! no BBQ burger, no sour dough bread and no skinny chips..We made alternative choices as one would. When are coffee arrived it wasn't hot only just warm but we didn't complain. Our meals arrived and when my partner cut her chick pea pastie in half it was still frozen in the middle. I took this meal back to the bar area for a replacement. We couldn't believe that the same cut in half pastie arrived back, apparently warmed up in a microwave and replaced on the same plate as the rest of the half eaten meal. And the salad looked like it had been scraped off the plate and same salad replaced. I would have expected a clean plate a completely fresh pastie and a replacement accompanied meal! Alas we won't be returning again"

"We have ordered from Goomet twice in recent weeks, seeking an alternative to our usual Chinese having recently moved to the area. The first time we were pleasantly surprised, then the second time just confirmed that this is an excellent takeaway. The Hong Kong Sweet and Sour was beautiful, really soft chicken pieces in a tangy sauce. The Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup was excellent, as was the Crispy Beef in Chilli Sauce (albeit a touch sweet for my palate, my partner loved it). The Salt and Pepper Chips were a touch indistinct, which is the only reason I can't give 5 stars on this occasion. The Gyoza, ordered with scepticism as it's traditionally a Japanese item as opposed to Chinese, were phenomenal, super tasty and with a lovely sticky dip. Excellent. We will be along to try the restaurant dining in soon, we're looking forward to it! Normally, restaurants with a huge menu tend to fail to deliver consistent quality across all items, but with the multiple things we've had across a couple of visits, I can't say that here, top stuff."

"I ordered some food via Just Eat at 9:15pm Sunday night. Having phoned the restaurant several times with the phone ringing out, I assumed it wasn't arriving so ordered other food to be paid cash on delivery. The Saray food turned up at 11:30pm and assuming it was the driver for the second restaurant I gave him cash. Only on opening did I realise it was the Turkish food from Saray and not the other food I'd ordered. So in effect I'd paid over 80 quid for 4 items. Not good enough."

"I won a Facebook contest to try this fantastic pop-up street eatery. Since we couldn't find a babysitter, we asked if we could take our food to go, and I'm so glad we didn’t miss out! The food was incredible. The "Mutter Clucker" was so delicious, and the coleslaw was brilliant. My husband loved his "Power Mac," and our sides were fantastic too. I definitely recommend checking this place out this weekend, whether you choose to dine in or take out!"
