"Have never eaten here, but only ever heard positive feed back. Cousins birthday, I do not live in the area so rang to order some bottles of bubbles for the table. Only writing this as experience was very upsetting and I am still shocked. I spoke with a lady, explained cousin having birthday dinner (I did get name wrong that table was ordered under) so wanted to make sure was correct table. She said I was loud and shouting. I have a loud voice (nodules on voice box). But its also naturally loud as well. I do not raise my voice, it is not my style also my voice loud enough. It doesnt need raising. We finally worked out correct table, I then thought she had gone to get payment machine. But she just hung up. So I called back, another waitress answered. I explained previous call and again asked if I could pay over phone for bottles of bubbles. I was asked to wait a moment whilst she fetched the machine. Whilst I waited I had to listen to what herself and the first waitress were saying about me. Won 't lie, it was very upsetting and I 'm quite a tough cookie. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional as well as hurtful. When she came back on phone I politely told her I heard all their conversation, she went quiet and apologised then asked if still wanted the bubbles. I politely replied 'I don 't think so '. Not sure what to take away from this experience. At least cover phone or put on hold if your going to talk badly about someone who wishes to spend money whom you have never met............"

"Genuinely wanted our second visit to be better but we left disappointed once again! We were in the town as part of a family break and we all agreed on Italian for lunch. We entered the restaurant without a booking and waited for quite a while to be seated (enough time for my wife to go to the bank to get cash due to the fact a sign was up saying that no card payments could be accepted), multiple staff members walked past and completely ignored us. Once we were seated, our drinks order was taken and we waited around 15 minutes for the waiter to speak to us again when he asked if we were ready to order our food; we were and we ordered. The waiter returned around five minutes later with our drinks. We ordered starters, mains and three course specials. After around a thirty minute wait, our son who didn’t want a starter was becoming agitated as he was hungry so we asked the waiter if our son’s main course could come with our starters. Literally two minutes later, his food arrived and was closely followed by our main courses. No sign of or explanation about the starter. It was us who had to notify the waiter that our starters hadn’t arrived and they followed shortly after. We had ordered a chicken and pasta dish for mains and had ordered a garlic bread to go with them, this didn’t arrive and even after chasing it up, it only arrived once we had finished our main course. The waiter offered an apology at the end of the meal because they’d been busy and a takeaway order of pizzas had stretched their kitchen over the lunch time. A very similar story to our last visit here and a similar cause; seemingly the restaurant is under staffed which results in delays, staff to be stressed and ultimately getting orders very wrong. Would have to think long and hard about returning here."

"A long read, but worth it.... I wish to make it very clear that I have not dined at Gusto e, however I have experienced the work of the Chef Philly D 'Uvo at Belfast Boat Cub in Stranmillis. Ironically I went having pre ordered a vegetarian pasta dish and having read Joris Minne 's glowing review in the Belfast Telegraph. I was not prepared for the sequence of events that followed......! Firstly, my table was served some twenty five minutes after the service began, and my vegetarian dish amidst the sea of festive tukey ham came fifteen minutes after that. The food was inedible, cold and unappealing. At this point I sought the waitress and explained my problem, she took the dish away, and then some time later she returned the same plate to me. It had been re-heated and had acquired a rubber like texture. I was starving, everyone in the dining room had finished and I had not eaten, and nobody seemed to care about the akward chap who ordered the vegetarian meal. I then personally took the sorry dish into Philly D 'Uvla 's kitchen and complained. Some time later the dessert course was served, I had no appetite for Cassata having had no main course, and I did not eat it it. Then, I endured the wrath of Philly! She stormed up to my table like a culinary diva, she tore strips off me for daring to take issue with the food and the service and for entering her kitchen to complain. I did not react, she went away and thanks to some excellent jazz, I made the most of the remainder of the night. Needless to say I complained to Philly (via social media via Delizia email) only to have revealed to me that one of the planks of her anger was that I scared her nine year old daughter who was being child minded in the working kitchen on the night in question! I was alarmed that the management of BBC would permit this to happen as a matter of course. I then set to an official complaint via Belfast Boat Club management. I initially sent an email which resulted in a telephone conversation with the General Manager. At this point I would prefer not to divulge the nuts bolts of this conversation, but I was left with the distinct feeling that the BBC management backed their Professional chef and that my complaint was an overreaction, and that my entering Philly 's kitchen justified all that followed. Having been effectivley sidelined by the General Manager of BBC, I then diverted my complaint to the people who organised the otherwise excellent function. These people appear to have encouraged the General Manager to reflect on the incident, its background and its potential implications, and at time of writing I await the written response of the General Manager after a period of reflection. This result in a definative decision on the quality of the food, the efficincy of the service, on the legalities of allowing a minor into a working kitchen, and on BBC 's policy on how a chef should react to a complaint. As I write it is Wednesday 18th December 2019.... Despite requesting a written response from the General Manager of Belfast Boat Club on 17th December 2019, I have not received this reply (but, as alluded to earlier) the General Manager of Belfast Boat Club may require more time to reflect on the situation, having listened to the organiser of the function and accepting that the new caterers may not have adapted to the unique demands of Belfast Boat Club, its members and its cliantale. I will undertake to inform you of the outcome once the matter has been fully resolved. Thank you for reading EJM"

"Outstanding cafe located opposite Marylebone station via a less than one minute walk. Far superior to anything inside the station. Very hospitable staff, the lady (who I think is the owner) remembers customers and their orders and is always smiling and welcoming. All staff work extremely hard to ensure polished surfaces, no dirty plates left behind etc. Standard of cleanliness superb. Food is delicious and a good selection on offer. Definitely worth making the trip across the zebra from the station you won’t be disappointed. Cafes like this are hard to find and this one is a gem. P.s I have had the privilege to re visit this wonderful establishment. The jacket potato and baked beans were incredible. The water is also extremely good and very cold. Staff are so nice. Lovely place. Really recommend. In fact if you are in London just once you must come here. P.p.s back again in this great place. They make food so fast eg bacon sandwiches. No one is left waiting they are so quick. Definitely recommend. P.p.p.s the staff work so hard here. Everything is like a well oiled machine. All the lovely customers enjoy their food and beverages. Interesting decor. Good water. very nice food. P.p.p.p.s the fridge is well stocked as you can see from the picture. The sandwiches look very nice as you can see from the picture. There is a lot on the menu as you can see in the picture. You can also see the sign it is a nice orange colour as you can see. There is a shiny mirror on the wall but you don’t want to look in it when you look like me but it is very shiny all the sane and they must polish it a lot. The decor is very interesting indeed. Everybody is so lovely here. They really are. P.multiple.s it’s great in here full of lovely London people. The jacket potato with baked beans is very good.you can sit at the window or on woven chairs. Kids on a school trip. Teachers do such a good job. Not an easy one but they do it well. As Graham at tiffin said you only get one shot with a child’s education."
